Thank you for that test. The outside fence test, with some echo really showed the difference.
It definitely gives you better audio, maybe not as good a s a dedicated plug-in lavalier style mic, but it does improve upon the camera's built-in microphone.
@@TheOneCanoe Thank you
The difference is notizable, thanks I think I'll follow thru with my purchase.
just got mine today .. it’s a nice clean setup
Thanks so much for the video. I will definitely purchase one
2:35-zoom function is for big cameras
4:10-mic test
"Zoom" function designed to work with SONY Camcorders with built-in zoom lenses. As the lens zooms, the pickup pattern on the microphone changes.
@@TheOneCanoedoes this function the same way on an RX10 mkIV?
First time stumbling on this channel, but anyone else thought he was Jerry Springer at first??
The white noise is unbearable.
Its possible use in a sony nex f3?
Does this work with the Sony ZV E10 camera?
Yes, the SONY ECM-GZ1M is compatible with the new SONY ZV E10 camera, however the ‘zoom’ function is not accessible when used with that camera.
thanks! sucess :)
Can you turn the microphone so it faces the opposite direction??
No, because it uses a ‘hot’ shoe, it must face forward to make the electrical connection.
I've installed this mic to my ZV-E10 and i cannot change my audio levels now on camera? :( How to adjust those if peaking all the time?
Sorry, I've only used this on a Sony a6000 (which only has auto levels) Anyone else used this on a ZV-E10, please respond. Thanks
Can you review Videomic pro vs this MIC on A6400? thanks
Sorry, can't do. I have a Videomic Pro, which I use on my Canon camcorder and it is excellent, but I only own the a6000, which does not have a microphone in jack, so cannot compare these mics on the a6400.
I have an issue with white noise on my mic, how did you remove that from yours? Assuming you’d had the same issue
I did not have that issue. My audio has always been clean. I've only used this mic on Sony a6000.
It usually means you might have the gain on your camera turned up too high, You want to get your loudest parts to about -6 db and your quietest parts no lower than about -20db
@@TheOneCanoe You do have that issue... Its pretty easy to hear it in your video when you tested it outside.
@@Matthews_Media For sure, you can notice some white noise from this consumer microphone, but compared to the built-in camera mic it definitely is a lot less hollow sounding.
