- Chair Yoga 28 Day Series - More Seated, Some Standing. In today’s practice, we’ll explore poses for our 28 day journey including seated Eagle pose. You’ll only need a chair for today’s class.
Welcome to Bottoms Down Chair Yoga. I’m Carol and I’m happy you’ve chosen to spend this time together to stretch, lengthen and strengthen your body.
This 31 minute yoga practice is day 13 of our 28 day yoga journey together. Join us as we build our practice from the ground up. We warm up gently and center our work on our breath and mindful movements to build strength and improve focus.
You’ll only need a chair. We’ll start seated and move to a standing position and return to seated.

Carol, I just completed Day 13 and look forward to each day's experience! Just wanted to share some of the wonderful improvements I have already noticed. I am sleeping so much better, breathing better, and have better posture and much more energy all the while feeling more at peace and relaxed! I really appreciate your calm manner with no rushing and the easy to follow instructions. Thanks again Carol. I had almost no balance on the left side... I was like the leaning tower of Pisa but with hands holding onto a chair 😂It's been a while and I feel a quiet confidence that improvement will come each day.

Day 13✅ I started simple hikes last year to various waterfalls in my area and noticed I have very little strength in my upper thighs. Climbing stairs is a challenge. This is just what I need to start more challenging hikes this spring. Thanks so much. 💜🙏🏽

Wow! I love this! I had a really difficult time with the lifting the leg and balancing. The joints are so stiff, but I am going to continue until I get more flexible! Thank you for doing this! I need it!

Thank you for sharing your time and knowledge with me. I am 71, have COPD and a new diagnosis of AFIB, both my cardiologist and pulmonary suggested I give yoga a try. I have to say, i not coordinated nor graceful. Sometimes I get left and right mixed up. I feel every stretch and move. I have stuck with you and Chair Yoga through 13 days. I'm actually proud of this old lady doing something productive.
Good for you! It takes a lot of will power to stick with it. As you continue to feel the success in your body, you'll make it a high priority as part of your daily routine. Keep up the great work and I'll see you tomorrow!

Obviously I have a balance issue because I thought we were jumping in much faster than this than all the other poses. So massive modification. Today my first reaction was to simply lift my leg while holding the chair because I felt I had no knee-lifting muscle power. But realize now focus should have been balance which means simply lifting my foot 2 inches off the ground and not see it as a knee lift at all. I will try that modification next time.
We all adjust and change and modify as it works best for our bodies. And we also learn as we go. So kudos to you for listening to your body, modifying and then challenging yourself as works for you. Keep up the great work!
I’m so sorry I hit the thumbs down not once but twice! I shouldn’t walk and touch at the same time! Your challenge is really good for me. I have MS and fibromyalgia so stretching out is important. I had trouble with my balance today and see that I need to do some balance work. Thanks so much for your instructions!
