    I appreciate the video's on this subject, I have watched them several times. Wish I hade access to those instructions, hoping maybe Mitchell 1 DIY has them. I have a leaking rear main seal bugging me.

      No problem! I'm happy I put helpful content out that actually helps people. The dealership I work at has prodemand on the computers so, I print it out there. I hope I was helpful in documenting as much as I could. Good luck with the repair!✊🏾✊🏾

      😆😆 Mr John, I wish that was the case but, it's my wife's car. Gotta get it done so I can get her out of Belle! I'm almost finished and about to post part 3 soon!

    This is an old video, but what was the transmission doing to make you have to replace it?

    • @WorkingwithBobby
      @WorkingwithBobby  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It quit pulling. It had no forward or reverse gears. I had to take out the cv axles just to get the car to roll on the trailer.

      @WorkingwithBobby it still driving good?

    • @WorkingwithBobby

      @allenleavell2847 yes, I got a used unit with low mileage and installed it. So far it's holding up to all the abuse my wife throws at it.

      Boost valve inside the valve body, trans gets hot and makes the cheap boost valve metal expand and it starts sticking not allowing the fluid to pass through the valleys in the valve body. Cause no forward gears or no forward and reverse. Most likely scenario, causes the bands to heat up and the clutch and steels to heat up and destroy themselves and overheat.
      Just rebuilt a 4r70w 2001 ford mustang same exact issue as a 2016 impala.
      Crazy stuff..
      I don’t recommend transmission work to anyone who hasn’t studied it for a long while.
      It gets tricky .-.

    • @WorkingwithBobby
      @WorkingwithBobby  ปีที่แล้ว

      The "new to me" trans was $1650 I think and the fluid was another $80. I got it from LKQ.

      @@WorkingwithBobby did u have to get it programmed?

    • @WorkingwithBobby
      @WorkingwithBobby  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@codymitch1522 great question! Since it was a used unit, the software needed for proper operation was already loaded to the controller. All I had to do was install and add fluid. I hope this helps.✊🏾✊🏾

      @@WorkingwithBobby thank u I have a 14 same body style as yours I shouldn’t have to program mines if I buy a used one right?

      @WorkingwithBobby  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@codymitch1522 ok cool. I believe so. Before you invest, I would talk with a Chevy tech if possible. My wife's car is a 17. I can only assume they are all the same with that body style.

    You don't have to brace the top of the motor because of the motor mount and you don't have to remove the suspension just the lower control arm bolts also engine mount bolts

    • @WorkingwithBobby
      @WorkingwithBobby  ปีที่แล้ว

      If I didn't remove the suspension member, I would not have been able to get the transmission out. The sub frame sits directly under the transmission. Trust me, it it were a way fro me to do it without removing it, I would left it on there.

    • @Kuzach1
      @Kuzach1 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@WorkingwithBobby I think the confusion comes in when you say suspension and not subframe you do have to remove the subframe but the suspension is a whole different thing that's the only confusion but you did an excellent job

    • @WorkingwithBobby
      @WorkingwithBobby  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Kuzach1 yeah, some mechanics, technicians, etc use different technical terms to describe different parts. I can see the confusion with that. It's the main reason I try to show what I do. That way even if I word a part wrong, you can see what I'm doing.✊🏾✊🏾thank you so much for watching.
