    The biggest issue with this is that the factory 6x9's in the door are crossovered from the factory amp and they do not have any highs going to them. So they only play midbass and midrange. They are also rolled off on the low side so there is a large lack of bass.
    If you install a 6x9, it will not play any highs which negates the whole tweeter. The dash tweeters play the highs.
    We just scoped an Impala's speaker outputs and found this out. Check out the Impala video on our channel to gain a full understanding of this.
    A much better choice of a speaker set up would be a component set with a midbass driver and a separate tweeter. If you notice the factory door 6x9 doesn't have any tweeters in it, and that's why.

    seen you vid many time before i got the balls to cut the factory speakers ,thanx .....! mod them for better quality speakers .. 750 2 channel amp . i have 6x9s in the back , component . 150,200 watt 6 1/2s in the front one channel for the front .. both 6x9s share one channel . the vol , gain control is barely on. no were close to a quarter way . bass setting on my factory radio always on the lowest setting ... more power than i need ... fun when these young kids roll up on me with all that bass ,no clarity ... they get lil pissed knowing my 6x9s hitting hard with the bass control at its lowest level .. i ran my front L channel to the back .. now im able to control my rear and front ,fade them out ..

    I bought a 2017. Not sure if my speakers were previously upgraded as I have not pulled it apart. But I turned the bass all the way up in the audio settings and put the fade in the middle of the care and a few clicks back from the middle and I have tremendous bass

    I mean. The new Chevys DONT sounds bad at all. My brother had a 2013 Malibu. And that radio was stock and wasn’t the upgraded pioneer option. It was the regular GM speaker. And it sounded like a Chrysler300 but better. It sounded better than the pioneer LTZ trim on the other Malibu’s. I definitely prefer the stock speakers in new Chevy cars now.

    I have a 2016 Chevy Impala LT and I was thinking of replacing the rear door speakers can I use a two way or a three-way on it and will it be okay

    • @Michael71186
      @Michael71186 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I also have a 2016 and the way Chevy arranged the Impala's audio setup makes speaker replacement a complete pain in the ass. From my understanding, you should be good to use 3-ways replacing your rear 5 1/4's. However, the front 6x9's are wired for 2-ways. So if you want to maximize your 6x9's by using 3 or 4-ways, you would need to bypass the factory amp. That's an expensive process that I was pretty disappointed to discover.

    What I did was went and got 4 kicker 6x9s went to the trunk and in hooked the front doors to the back doors at the amp. I used 4 because the factory speakers are 2 ohm. The amp likes to see that. Basically I ran 2 speakers a channel for a final load of 2 ohms. And did a aftermarket 12 for lows and it’s much louder now.
