The safety break and the automatic avoidance should be mandatory in all modern cars.
I know in Europe a LOT of cars have them, but in the US we are still fighting over 'rear camera'... Like seriously... wtf?
Because those features comes with a hefty cost, especially the radar (hardware and software wise). If you make those features mandatory, you simply implied that cars will be much more expensive.
The back up camera and sensors used to be expensive before, now the technology had become cheaper, it's now easy to make it mandatory. Basically, we all need China to make things affordable first before it can be standardized on a product.
Do you have any idea how expensive these features are?

All sensor need calibration each time measure by built in self calibrator before each measurement so prevent speed of light being control by weather NOAA
America has so many SUVs and pickup trucks, do they have foam models of them. The ground clearance and tailgate to back window proportions probably mess with the radar sensors.
