  • I'm a professional this video is only for education purposes DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DO ANYTHING ON THIS VIDEO!!!Johnny explains where it's located, why it occurs, and how it can be remedied. This is addressed on his slide and frame prep video. However as this area is one of the major ares that creates drag in pull and return he wanted to make it more easily accessible for clients and Glock trigger enthusiasts. There is also other information on the Glock trigger bar specifically the Gen 4 bump on the vertical extension.

    I don’t own any glocks, but recently gotten into the Polymer 80’s compact and full size. Your videos have great detail and have taught me a lot about my builds. Keep up the good work Sir 👍🏻🇺🇸

    I smoothed & polished my transfer bar/ connector interface. My "-" connector was quite rippled from manufacturing. I also bent the cruciform 90° to the bar looking forward. The striker pawl was riding off to the right after release. Carefully ground a flat edge on the cruciform sear too.
    Huge difference!
    Your vids are awesome.
    Smooth, predictable trigger.

    Johnny Glocks.... wow this video really helped. I have a gen 4 19 that had a very mushy trigger, no defined wall and would barely let the trigger reset enough to let the trigger safety work. I thought by changing out the trigger connector it would fix the problem. It didn’t. I’ve tried multiple trigger connectors. ghost edge 3.5 , ghost ultimate 3.5 and Glock OEM 3.5 connectors with some minor results. After watching and bending and tweaking the trigger connectors I achieved a much better and cleaner pull. I settled on the Glock OEM 3.5 connector. Now I have very smooth pull with no drag, nice defined wall and a clean snappy break(which I prefer) also the trigger resets perfectly now with a very audible and tactile feel. Thank you for the info !!!

    Thanks again for all you do Johnny! I have learned a ton from watching your vids over and and over again. After spending countless hours watching bogus misinformed and sometimes dangerous information concerning Glocks and how they tick; you sir are the real deal and my go to for truth. Please keep up the great information and taking what you do to an art form and sharing your wisdom with us.

    I used 3 layers of duct tape stacked attached to the frame in front of the transfer bar to remove all pretravel....I thought screws and glue/whatnot was ridiculous and tape can be removed instantly. It does a really good job and it always resets.

    Thank you for the info. Since watching you and others, i have taken interest in working on my glocks. Ive got my G30 gen 3 trigger really nice and smooth with a ghost 3.3lb pro trigger connector and lighter trigger plunger spring and a gen 3 trigger bar and polished.
    I just installed the ghost 3.5lb evo trigger connector on my G19 last night and noticed its smoother, but not as nice as the 3.3lb Pro connector. I might need a lighter trigger plunger spring as well. Everything else is stock. Back to tinkering...
    Again thank you for the wonderful videos.

    Got my 42 trigger pull down to 5.5 to 6 lbs with diligent polishing. So more rounds to see where it settles in.
    It has a shorter take up than my 19 which is 5.to 5.5 lbs My 42 was purchased earlier this year. Enjoy your very real approach to triggers.
    Per your comment in an earlier video ...3.5 pounds is scary light in a carry gun.
    Have aPPQ 45 which is 4.5 and that is aboutaslow asI feel okay with

    I don't see 85 degree angle I see more than 90 degrees like 92 to 95 degrees for the connector. When the stock connector comes from the factory it's probably 95 degrees or more before bending it into your suggested setting . If it was 90 degrees it would be flush with the trigger housing you don't want that. So I just think that you miscommunicated what you meant, which seems to happen often in your videos, or digressing different directions at times. But thank you for your videos!

    • @bma8013
      @bma8013 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      85 = 95 = 275 etc. just depends on what direction and what side of the axis you start from.

    Gen 5 G17 did away with the dimple on the vertical extension. I can definitely feel the bar drag on the side of the polymer frame. What do you do on the Gen 5/G17 for this drag? Break the edges on the polymer via Flitz and a dremel with felt wheel, and polish the bar? I see the bar does not more 100% true front to back, it has a little side motion, or the frame isn't parallel and the bar hits the frame because the frame is angled a little bit.

      there is a scallop cut into the vertical extension which keeps that safety %100 engaged.

    Is there a remedy to the trigger bar rubbing against the frame in a gen 3? (Actually I have a P80 build, which uses gen 3 parts.) I can see the frame bulging out (and even the slide shift ever so slightly) when pulling the trigger. I think this is giving me a gritty pre-travel.

    • @johnnyglocks
      @johnnyglocks  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Who Knows? Yeah why don't you watch my video detailing the slide and frame for Johnny Glocks trigger it pretty much outlines everything you can do however since the wall of the polymer is thinner than the Glock where the long part of the transfer bar is your ultimately going to have some bulging there or Flex from the bar should I say properly

  • @archer4922

    Another great vid Johnny. Thanks. I am so debating on ordering one of your comp triggers for my gen 3 g35. I currently have a vanek in there now but I feel it can be better. And by watching your vids this past year or so I see that yes it can be better. I know I need a new firing pin, I bought this gun used and the previous owner has a titanium pin in there and it has some gouge marks toward the part that hits the primer. But it still seems to work smoothly. Anyway I'm still debating between you trigger group and zev and dk customs. Just don't know which one to go with yet.

      JOHNNY GLOCKS the persona that's what i like about yours i know you can customize it to my liking using factory parts and i love that. I think the only reason i like the zev is bc of the shoe, i like the aluminum and flat face. if i were to go with yours can i change the trigger shoe to an alum one? or even a flat trigger like the overwatch trigger or agency? not sure if i like the suarez you showed on another vid, have heard bad things on thier drop in like the drop safety not working.but of course if you build it im sure itll be 100. thanks for the quick reply.

    • @johnnyglocks
      @johnnyglocks  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      A Thomas
      if you buy and send me the shoe I'll build it with the shoe. I would suggest the ZEV as it is set screw adjustable and will be WAY WAY WAY better than any flat face.

    • @archer4922
      @archer4922 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      JOHNNY GLOCKS the persona with that would i just get the trigger bar from zev? or order a shoe like the keneti tech one at www.kineti-tech.com/glock-triggers-1/ just not sure if theirs has set screws.

    • @archer4922
      @archer4922 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      JOHNNY GLOCKS the persona either way i think i have settled on getting one from you now lol. just need some time to get funds together as i do want to send the pistol to you to fit it. also to tighten the slide back up, last time i did it was around 5-6000 rounds ago and the front end is loose again. but anyway as soon as i get the funds i will be giving you a call.

    Great explanation. But, one thing I'm still fuzzy on: I was just about to "smooth" those polymer struts a bit, especially the one in back, but I have the Gen 4 bar which is supposed to keep it from rubbing. Should I still do that even if I see no wear. It can't hurt, right?

    • @johnnyglocks
      @johnnyglocks  7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Mean Gene
      it can hurt. if its not broken don't fix it as the saying goes. if you don't see wear just leave it. Even the rear strut as you call it in the gun in this video has wear but since I'm changing parts out I'll have to see how it wears before I do anything. a rag Polished is fine but no Dremel
