  • I'm a professional this is only for education purposes DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DO ANYTHING ON THIS VIDEO!!!After installing Glock OEM and aftermarket parts the gen 5 trigger has gotten as good as it's going to get. Johnny mimics the trigger action from the gen5 on a gen 3 gun then goes on to show that only modification beyond the plug and play will achieve the trigger his customer is requesting in this Gen5. Part 3 will reveal even more

    I found you via Google when I was trying to find out what the "sharks fin" referred to. It's because you transcribed the video onto your website. Smart, very smart. That my friend is a good SEO practice, and, it adds value to your content. I then came here and thumbed your video up. Keep up the good work and much success to you.

    My G19X feels like it has 2 "walls", once when the sharkfin hits the striker block & again when it hits the real wall. How about a video that addresses that? Thanks, keep up the good work.

      I have this problem also and it’s kind of making me want to get rid of it. I’ve had several other gen 5s that haven’t had the trigger do this. My pistol is the G45.

      Have you tried a reduced power striker safety spring?

    Any tips on keeping the shark’s fin from diving so hard into the side of the safety plunger’s cutout along the side of the slide that it feels like a second wall when you press the trigger through it?

    Hi, Jhonny. I am using the translator for my language is Spanish. I tell you that I understood the trigger ZEV (only the trigger, still do not sell kit) for my glock 34 GEN5, I replaced it but the pull is the same, I have not noticed any improvement neither in the tension, nor in the restart. I will greatly appreciate your recommendations. Thank you

    Please help Johnny Glocks! Gen 5 model 45. Apex trigger, trigger bar and connector. TTI competition spring kit. Was pulling around 3-3.5lbs and nice. Was some gritty feeling before break and before trigger rest. Thought if I dremel/polish slide stop where meets trigger bar it would smooth it out. Like an idiot I polished the entire coating off the trigger bar to a shine. Brought to range and was amazing. Around 200 rounds it started getting hitch before trigger let off and was getting heavy. Somehow I now have a 6-7 pound custom trigger. I’m so mad I fucked with anything. Should I have left that coating on the trig bar? If there are too many possibilities I get it. Thanks for all the great content

    Thank you for sharing. I have the Ghost Evo Elite in my GEN5 and there is no clean break, it is all the same feel throughout. Not a personal favorite but I do like the clean feel of the factory connector and I might take your screw idea. Question, there is no pre-travel which means one of two things, the trigger bar hump is pressing the safety plunger with the trigger depressed or you have trimmed the hump, can you share is you trimmed the hump?

    The hissing sound is quite loud. You should turn off whatever it is that’s making that sound when you record.

    J.g ... man these are ild videos so im sure you wont see this . But your one hell of a dude . Your educational videos does nothing for you . Infact it cost you time and certainly $ as people take your education and apply it rather then send you $ . That in my mind is what tells a mans story . Yea you probably do it better then i can but even at your own parrel your willing to tach the mass in the name of sport and safety. I wish is could afford to run your trigger, maybe one day. Tell then i feel comfortable knowing i have someone with your skills helping me out .

    Johnny, I'm just now getting into your videos. I'm going through a gunsmithing course currently, and I have to ask.. would you consider a 2.5 lb pull carry safe?

    • @johnnyglocks
      @johnnyglocks  6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Jeff Taylor HELL NO most people have no idea what they are doing in defensive situations and 2.5# is too light. I would recommend at least 3.5 and closer to 4

    Hey man I need some help if you have a quick moment. I'll try and make this quick. I edc a gen5 19 with a spare 19x factory mag emphasis on keeping everything factory and it's bothering me the black gun black mrds in green tier 1axis with orange shock cord and a coyote tan spare mag. If I get a black 17 mag and a factory and a black +2 do I need a spring? Will the 17 spring work with a +2? Of there's a .1% failure rate that's too much. I can't find a factory black 17+2 thanks for your time have a great one!

    • @AnUprightAnimal
      @AnUprightAnimal 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The OEM 17 mag, with an OE or even the Pearce +2 extension will work just fine with the stock spring. I run a G17.5 with a 17 mag and Zev +5 and two 17 mags with +2 extensions on them, and the only one that needed a new spring was the +5. I've not had a single failure from any of my mags. I'm assuming you probably already got your answer, but figured I would put this out in case someone else has that question in the future.

    • @johnnyglocks

      That all depends on what you're trying to achieve but I offered the OverWatch precision polymer dat shoe it's the best I've found so far however it's not available in Gen 5

    Are gen 4’s and gen 5’s still prone to have the trigger reset spring breakage?

    • @johnnyglocks
      @johnnyglocks  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Gen 4 and gen 3 have the same coil torsion spring and more so than Breaking they can unseat and twist around the leg of the trigger bar causing problems this is why the Gen 5 switched to the trigger bar being captured by the clasp and a compression spring. Potential Breakage and twists are not likely.
