This has to be it, otherwise Acer has unquestionably the most incompetent marketing dept in the tech industry. It's almost commendable that they've stuck with the same strategy for like a decade, despite every ounce of common sense suggesting that their entire approach is the stuff of brainworms.

Yeah, you're probably right. When I bought my XF270HU back in 2016, I had to be really careful of which one to buy. They actually sold both a TN and IPS monitor under the XF270HU name, just the TN added on "Cbmiiprx" at the end and the IPS was "Abmiidprzx." The problem was that a lot of retailers didn't list which one was which...

I got Acer Nitro XV282KKV 28" for 400 € on a discount close to a year ago. Incredible value. It did feel like a bit of a risk as there were basically no reviews. Had no issues luckily. So it's nice to see some acer monitor reviews. Like this 272U model, the overshoot on lower hz is not great but I am not sensitive to that.

I think for $300 it's a decent deal if all you care about is response time and resolution. Someone playing apex or valorant who doesn't care about color accuracy is going to have a better time (at least IMO) compared to a M27Q P. It's not an amazing monitor, but seeing how I was recommending friends to pick up a alienware AW2418H/F for csgo @$80/ea until a few months ago (when brand new 240hz 1080p ips monitors started dipping below $150 reliably), it's an alright monitor for the price. Remember that you could always get some shitty VA 240hz monitor for around $300-350 and those had response times barely reasonable for a 144hz monitor. This isn't a "deal" at $300, but I think it's worth it at that price, so long as you don't get any massive defects.

While this budget monitor has more caveats than most expensive ones, it feels like all the $800+ monitors also have drawbacks here or there that are big enough to have kept me from buying. My six-year-old TN 1440p 165Hz monitor seems to have degraded in contrast (which was not great to begin with), and I was really looking for something comprehensively better to replace it with.
Having said that, your review on the LG C2 gave me the confidence to jump on the Prime Day deal - only the 48" model was on sale on the Canada site, but since my computer "desk" is actually an old kitchen table, I should be able to move it back far enough. Super excited to get some proper HDR gaming in when it arrives next week! Thanks, Tim!

Hi @Monitors Unboxed So my question is, What setting on this monitor do I need to have it on for the 240hz in menu? Also I use a Spyder X Pro. So I should be using the Wide LED setting and not Standard when calibrating? Also once Calibrated what color setting do you recommend? Should I use warm and 2.2 or something different? So far I think I got a really good color output going on. sRGB is at 100% according to the Spyder X Pro. Thanks for the review. And Subbed of course.

This panel is also used in the xb273u nx. A premium gsync monitor. Also no srgb clamp, lots of IPS glow and 900 euros.
Weirdest thing is there’s a calibration report in the box for srgb with less than delta 2 error on any colours. But boot windows 11 and immediately the blue stock wallpaper is oversaturated and can only be fixed by enabling hdr, which puts backlight at 100 percent.

Idk man, maybe it's just me but I like a nice 4k 120hz (even 60hz) image on my OLED TV over a 1440p monitor at a higher refresh rate. I can just clearly see the flaws with the lower resolution; especially when sitting "monitor close". Anyway, there's really no one who reviews TV Just For Gaming. Or, at least no one who really focuses on their gaming performance. I'd personally love to see a bit of that. Great video as always. Well done 👏
