During this presentation, we will take a 1st person look at what the vehicle is all about beginning with the start up, performance data, fuel economy, the occasional track data, and build quality. Also, I will teach you how to use most of the interior and exterior features in a detailed fashion, that before, you could only get from going to a dealership yourself! Throughout the video, I will highlight key styling and unique differences about the vehicle, any available options, and of course it would not be an enthusiast car video without the good ole engine portion with rev and exhaust note with interior and exterior perspectives. Another great job Kyle. This little Ford is very impressive. It has features you normally see on more expensive cars. If Ford puts this much thought, quality and engineering into their entire line-up, they have nothing to worry about from their competition.
As a current owner of a mk6 GTI, I have to agree with you. Don't get me wrong, I love my car, but I took one of these on a test drive last weekend and fell in love with it.

My favorite Ford Focus by far! A 2.0L Ecoboost GTDI (Gasoline Turbocharged Direct Injection) 4-cylinder engine, a 6-speed manual transmission, loaded with all the nice options. I LOVE the Microsoft MyFord touch! Sweet engine and exhaust note! Thanks for the video! :D

this is by far my favorite hatchback of all (especially the race red color as it is known as), the 2013 Ford Focus ST. 252 HP 2.0L EcoBoost GTDI i4 engine with variable valve timing, 6-speed manual transmission, fully loaded with all nice options including navigation, Microsoft/MyFord touch, smart key access system with keyless start-up, and Recaro seats!! :D

It only took me about a day and a half to learn. I also live where it's moderately hilly so it was a little more difficult. It mostly depends on your mindset and obviously what you're driving. I learned in a 2011 GTI so my learning experience was a little better than others
I test drove the new Volvo V40 T5 R-design recently and those seats are even better, trust me!
If you had one you wouldnt be watching videos like this but driving that car all day

Nice video and wow what a great car. Ford has been doing really well as far as improving their line up, (Have you seen the new fusion and explorer)
On a side note: It's never good to rev a brand new engine, they do suggest a break-in period of 1000 Miles. But I've noticed on all your video's you do let the engine warm up first.. that is sooo much better then revving a new engine cold!

Absolutely. However, if I'm in the market for a "hot hatch" there is pretty much 3 options - MS3, Focus ST, and WRX STI. The ST is pretty much a balance between the 2. I don't put the Golf R in the same category as it's relatively tame in terms of power.

Is premium fuel required for this car? I know the manual says to use at least 87 octane, but it never mentions whether this is for the stock 2.0L or the turbo charged 2.0L
I miss these nice alloy wheels and this huge navi screen in my Focus ;-(
Manual is quite simple to learn, the only tricky part is learning to drive them in areas with lots of hills. I had to learn on my dad's F-350 extended bed, that beast was not fun to learn on, once I got this it was a cakewalk.

Does the cargo area fold flat if you take out the headrest, if that's at all possible to do.
I just saw this car this morning. What a lovely car. The seats and cockpit area just looks amazing immersive.
Also the exhaust is not played through the audio system it is a physical tube piping in engine and exhaust noise.

I have a 2012 Focus SE, that looks like the one to the right front of ths car you filmed and I was surprised with how much different the interior was compared to mine. The dash and console is laid out different. The main gauge cluster is a little different. The E-brake and cupholders are also in slightly different spots. I really like my Focus and I think the ST is a cool car as well.

So many people asking Kyle to do videos....to those people: reviewing cars is NOT his primary job. He does it for fun. Therefore he's not gonna do every car you want him to do. Plus, it depends on wether his local dealerships have those cars in stock. Btw 1:19 you can hear some exotic's exhaust sound in the backround.
I have to laugh at people who say this car has too many buttons on the dash, or try to cite other "ergonomic" issues. This car has barely any buttons on the dash, compared to many other cars. The controls are really simple and easy to use. The shifter is in the right spot. I have to think that most people saying that crap haven't driven one.
How's the breaking and steering for this?
