- Hello and welcome to Saabkyle04! TH-cam's largest collection of automotive variety! In today's video, we'll take an up close and personal, in depth look at the 2013 Ford Taurus SHO.
"SHO" or "S-H-O" designates "Super High Output" and represents the twin turbo V6 under the hood. V8 power with V6 fuel economy
MSRP pricing for the Taurus, before options, starts at:
SE: $26,600
SEL: $28,800
Limited: $33,000
SHO: $39,200
During this presentation, we will take a 1st person look at what the vehicle is all about beginning with the start up, performance data, fuel economy, the occasional track data, and build quality. Also, I will teach you how to use most of the interior and exterior features in a detailed fashion, that before, you could only get from going to a dealership yourself! Throughout the video, I will highlight key styling and unique differences about the vehicle, any available options, and of course it would not be an enthusiast car video without the good ole engine portion with rev and exhaust note with interior and exterior perspectives. A thorough tour/review of this car designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.

This is just a really nice car. My grandfather just bought the limited version. Really smooth ride, no wind noise, great technology. Also the ambient lighting is the coolest thing ever.
Dude, this is like easily the best, most factual in depth review I have ever seen for any car on youtube. You talk about every single screw and bolt that has changed and how it affects the performance of the car over the previous model. Crazy good and detailed. Subbed. Keep up the great work man.

I own a FULLY loaded 2013 SHO with the track package, unlike the one shown here, I am 6'7" and around 280lbs, I fit in both the driver and passenger seat nicely. Although no one is able to sit behind me, lol
Your like the only guy on TH-cam that does awesome, in depth reviews
Let's "SHO" them who's boss
like
I have a 2013 v6 awd black but I like the who too he he!!!!😁😁😁😁😁😁
Sorry sh o
Let's get this SHO on the road.
Jajaja
I love that chim during start up
I gave one of these a test drive today and I tested it's performance putting the pedal to the floor. This car is very agile and I was pleased with it! It will definately give a muscle car a good run for it's money even with it being such a heavy sedan.
I recommend everyone to give it a shot.
I love the mean look the car has
Always loved the understated nature of Q-cars (high performance unassuming sedans) such as these.
Wow, the amount of power and torque coming out of that engine to all the wheels is awesome, its a freaking engine from a truck.
My everyday Ford sedan! Brilliant job Kyle.
Thanks Kyle!
You're what the TH-cam community should be.
Wow that remote start looks sooo much quicker and accurate than most others.
I've seen a few of your video's and I seriously think you should have a show on TV reviewing cars. You do a really great job on your reviews. Almost every car I need a review for you have. Keep up the good work.
My God this car is gorgeous!
This Taurus is definitely an improvement from last year's! Love it!!
1:57 Amazing Sounds
I have a 2014 Ford Taurus SHO and I love it. It replaced my 2004 Acura TL, and since then, I have driven it with about 90,000 miles, and still have this, as well as a 2016 Infiniti QX60.
This thing is beautiful.
You should see it with the S.H.O. rims...😉.
You deserve 10 million subs
This car is nice man looks great.
I really like this Taurus. It doesn't have lag in it's features like other cars. The remote start turns on the car instantly, the backup camera comes up instantly, and the smart key door handles unlock instantly too, whereas in other cars you may notice a 1-3 second lag in these features.
i swear the sun glasses compartment in cars are never big enough
Brayden Rapirez my sentra fits mines very good 😂😂
What a beautiful sedan! Much more refined and luxurious compared to other high performance vehicles in it's class!
Another stellar review by my now official automotive authority, saabkyle04!
I cant belive how Ford went from a grandma's car, to a beast.
Bought a 2014 sel 1 week before x-mas 2013 and absolutely love it, will probably upgrade to the sho when the warranty is over...highly recommend this vehicle as it is plenty powerful even though its not the sho !!
THUMBS UP IF YOU LOVE FORD!!
👍
"Nice and unique AGGRESSIVE STITCHING" I CRIED
I once got back handed by my mom for eating chicken nuggets in her taurus
that is hilarious because i did that too
she did the right thing
Must have been a hell of a smack..😂😂.. Hence your name Mr. Vegetables😉..
just saw this car in person while waiting for service done in my truck, this taurus is very nice
Ford needs a Fusion SHO, thinking the nano ecoboost 2.7L v6 would make a good engine... ONLY if they can keep it below 3600 lbs because a fully loaded AWD Fusion is something like 3800 lbs right now
the same engine as this should go into the fusion sho. Fine detune if they don't want it faster than the Taurus . But let us unlock that with a aftermarket tune .
yes sir
Eh, I'd rather have the 2.7 as it isn't as heavy.
DoomsdayMelody91 it would be to slowwwww
yes sir
No it wouldn't they put it in the F150 in a midsize sedan it would be more than capable
capable compared to what tho?the 2.7 is iron block , while the 3.5 is aluminum . the 2.7 holds moore coolant giving a little extra weight . 3.5 has 45tq and 45hp more. besides that extra .8 liter how much does it really weigh it down.
Huge ford fan! Love this car! Thanks for the review, Kyle!
lets get the sho on the road
personally not a ford fan, i love chevys, but this car is incredible, i wouldnt mind having one
i like the new ford chime
Always loved the understated look of Q-cars (unassuming high performance sedans) such as this.
I wish that Ford never discontinued their sedans. That was a big mistake. 😡
I agree
Curtis Allred Relax they still have the mustangs
i was waiting for this cars review!! thanks for uploading!!
I really like this car, but I was born in the late 60's. My first car was a 69 ford galaxy 500 w/390. I have to choose the 2014 Chevy ss. I need the v8 sound.
The touch system is really smooth now. Ford completely revised it and it;s really smooth and user friendly. Most of those people trashing it just havent taken the time to try the latest version.
I’m really not a fan of ford and I don’t really like them at all, but this is a great review.
i was gonna say something, but tlv156 said everything i was gonna say. awesome review
Chevy fanboys please continue to rage about how Ford managed to bring out yet another better vehicle than GM could.
BriansPS3 yep they're basically wolves in sheep's clothing
BriansPS3 Lexus/Toyota fan here, I’d get the impala over the Taurus.
: T. Pi like both but having driven multiple impalas as i work at a chevy dealership they lack in speed on paper and in person, plus quality is worse 🤪
AAAAAAAAA FAZE RUG
As a former taurus sho owner, I'll have to say this is the most unreliable car I've ever owned. I'd never buy another ford product. I hate to say that considering I work for ford.
What year? What problems were you having?
2010, power transfer went out, catalyst converter blew, tire rods replaced twice. Broken passenger mirror, heating core went bad, towing links broke, turbos started to go bad in the end. I never used regular gas always used synthetic oil.
I ended up getting rid of it a few weeks ago. Hopefully the next sho will be better
Marshall McCrary
Power transfer? So was it a transmission? The Torque converter? A differential? I'll let calling a catalytic converter a catalyst converter go, but to me it sounds like you are car illiterate, you were prolly doing things you shouldn't have been. Also how is it the cars fault that the passenger mirror broke? Thats vandalism...
DoomsdayMelody91actually you jack ass I meant the power transfer unit. I never did anything extra to my car. It's a coming problem with those cars. We make those p.t.u aka rear drive units at my plant. The design is very flawed. And no you're wrong the mirror is made from cheap plastic. A simple pot whole prevented it from working right. Not paying 500 bucks for a replacement.
I am talking about the current models. I am sure if we were talking about 1950, 1960s or 1970s models I would go with an Impala over whatever Ford offered at the time too. I really do think when the Ford came out with the Taurus in 1986 it was a turning point in which Ford vehicles started to be of better quality than Chevrolet vehicles. It could be just a coincidence that the Taurus came out at that time, but to me Ford stepped up their game in the mid-80s.
Like you review, but personally I can't stand it when people say 'SHOW'. Its Ess Achh Ohhhh. Its an acronym for Super High Output... Its like calling an GTO a Geetow.. so please, in the future say S.. H.. O.. not show. /rantoff
Jason Jardina
SHO rolls off the tongue more fluidly than pronouncing each of the letters does
The GTO was called a "goat". That's even farther off. Goat rolled off the tongue. So does sho, fo sho. :)
+Martin Dennis the sho is called "sho" and not "show" on their site. Just to to ford.com. At 365hp and 400lb ft it's super high output from a 3.5 I would think but who knows.
Martin Dennis
S.H.O. and SHO (as in show) are used interchangeably.
DoomsdayMelody91 Anything is interchangeable if YOU want it to be. The point is what does Ford say about it. it IS their car after all and as of 2010 they stopped calling it the S.H.O. You can call it anything you want. But what you want to call it doesn't mean that's what it is. I had a woman at work who just couldn't pronounce an Indian co-worker's name. She called him something else but he was quick to remind her that was her prerogative but that wasn't going to be what he would answer to. If Ford wants to call it "show" that's okay by me. I wouldn't enjoy the car any less.
awesome review Kyle glad to see the prices!
now on to the sticker shock, with all this crap nobody uses
Just got my 2013 Ford Taurus SHO all black about a month ago and no complaints!
Best car ever made!
The grille looks a lot better! Great vid as always Kyle!
working at a ford dealership all i can say is that the Taurus has come a long way
Nice vid Kyle. Hope one day you can go back into reviewing some of the much older cars
beauty is in the eye of the beholder i guess, personally that grill is what caught my eye!
this is like a dream car.
I'm not a Ford fan, but that engine does sound fantastic
I get a kick how the south is still listening to 30 plus year old songs. When I graduated this song came out. Take it on the Run!
For 2013 this car is loaded. It looks a head of its time, still looks very nice 10-12 years later.
I really like how Kyle inserted pics during his presentation. The 17/25 MPG is no V6 economy anymore even some V8's with more HP get better MPG. FORD NEEDS TO ADDRESS THIS. Start Stop and more gears would be a start. Maybe electric assist.
I considered a lot of the SHO's competitors before buying one. The perf. pkg. makes a big difference, not that it should come as a big surprise. Ridiculously fast, very comfortable, and FOR ITS SIZE it's remarkably agile. Not for 20-somethings, for sure, but a little more 'grown up'--when I was 26 I'd have found this kinda boring. Today, I love it.
This car is great! I got to rent one last week for a road trip!!
Yea, Kyle your videos have made me a lot more interested in cars. I am a totally different person now.
very well done and so informative , Saabkyle04 you are the best !!
I guess everyone does love Kyle's videos! They're so cool! Cheers from France.
Wow, never heard a ford start up chime like that before. Very unique.
SOO MANY COOL FEATURESSSS
Awesome automobile, Kyle. Truly American! Thank you for sharing.
Hey saabkyle that guys commenting over and over. Sweet car love fords cars
A mixture between the Taurus SHO and the Mustang would be amazing!!!
that remote start was super fast!
These cars are so much bigger in person than most people think. The video doesn't do it justice
As a guy who loves imports.. w/ the exception of American trucks... huge props to ford for making such a sharp car.. if i had some extra jingle in the pocked id get one of these in blue Sexy car
I built that overhead console at work! That's a single bin, Charcoal, two gang switch.
ABOUT TIME FORD MADE A DECENT LOOKING SEDAN.........
From my research on net, I found this car is short life car with Issues like (Trans. -engine power lose-). On other hand, the car in technology is the best.
Now that would be a unique car!
I have a 2013 and I did a rear muffler delete for more sound and damn does it sound good
Awesome review man!!!
ford is the best and will always be the best...the best car or truck you can buy
Now this is what Im talking about!
I drive a 2010 Taurus limited and it is just an overall great car. It looks fantastic, drives smooth and has plenty of power with the 3.5L 273hp v6. It makes you wonder why anyone would buy the Chevy impala.
Cuseball121 because they're idiots and want to piss money out of their wallets every time they go the the mechanic
Just picked this same model year up. Same color, same wheels. Hell of a car. Haha super fun too and great on long trips
I LOOOOVVVEEEEE THIS CAR!!! i sold my 2011 taurus SEL and i loved it. i will defiantly get a SHO for my next car
worlddxb aaaa LoOL I have the same car now 102k on it
Excellent In-Depth Review.
wow... Nice car!
And great review!
Damn this Taurus sho looks better than that other ford Taurus sho you did it was a black one
Ford has made another great car! + you've got another subscribe. (Because i like your vids)
damn, that's nicer than my 2012 5 series, way to go ford.
man the taurus has come a long way.
I'm french and i love your videos ! :D
I'd love to own this
If you have the key fob in your pocket and slide your finger over the pad, the doors will unlock. If you hold the bottom two numbers, it will lock the doors. Also you can set your own combination to open the door without a key.
It will be really cool if you could do a review for the new 2013 Ford Police Interceptor . Nice vid !
I can't guarantee the 3.5L Ecoboost, but a manual is likely considering their other performance models (except the SHO of course). Ford is developing a 2.7L "Nano" V6 Ecoboost that will likely be placed in the Fusion and possibly MKZ (although it's more likely to get the 3.5L Ecoboost.
About time ford got a smart key setup!
ten ford jest ZAJEBISTY!!! no i jeszcze ten zajebisty silnik V6 SHO. i love ford & usa car's
SHO is AWD. You can also get AWD on the limited and SEL if you opt for the ecoboost v6.
YYAAAAAA NICE!!!!!! MY LIFE IS COMPLETE!!!!!
Thank's for another great walkaround.
i just bought one. sho, performance package. its delicious...
