    É incredibile come celibidsche valorizzi qualsiasi opera di qualsiasi compositore. Fantastico. Oltre il genio. Mia mamma mi diceva che ogni tanto la natura partoriva un genio. Celibidsche é uno di questi.

    The greatest recording of this symphony I've ever heard.

    I did not succeed to like this symphony of Brahms. I tried with Chalibidache ans it works. This man has a prodigious way to emphasize all the details and subtleties of the scores that he is conducting while keeping the overall structure present, so all is OK and now I enjoy this symphony just as the three other ones.

    Celibidache is NOT a slow conductor. He's a "tempo giusto" conductor, looking for the ideal balance. This recording is a miracle...

      ...I agree: He is not a slow conducter, he is a VERY slow conducter..

      No, he really is and that has nothing to do with his worth-matter of taste.

    • @lindildeev5721
      @lindildeev5721 ปีที่แล้ว

      He's slower than most of conductors which can be a good thing, especially when he's conducting Brahms, Mahler or Bruckner. It just doesn't always work. Take, for example, Strauss' Till Eulenspiegel: Celi's slow conducting is totally mismatched here.

    This performance will proceed with rhythm without time constraints, so it synchronizes with my breathing rhythm.
    ❶ The scale is large and it is very wonderful.
    ❷ The performance of each part is clear and its sound is very beautiful.
    ❸ This musical sense of this conductor is the best. For that reason, we slightly shift the sound and do not overlap easily.
    Therefore, it is the best symphony for me.

    この演奏は時間的に制約のないリズムで進行しますので、それは私の呼吸リズムに同期します。
    ❶スケールが大きくて、非常に素晴らしい。
    ❷各パートの演奏は音が明瞭で、とても美しい。
    ❸この指揮者の音楽的なセンスは最高です。そのため音を微妙にずらして、安易に重ねていません。
    そのため、私には最高のシンフォニーです。

    I have no issue with this tempo. When performed at this speed, a cinematographic feeling occurs that would not otherwise be achieved. I think it is good that some conductors take their time with a more lyrical symphonic work. I think Brahms would have smiled.

      Some would say Kleiber's tempo is too fast. In any case the 1st movement tempo changes many times according to the mood and character.

    It's understandable why Tchaikovsky wrote " I played over the music of that scoundrel Brahms. What a giftless bastard! It annoys me that this self-inflated mediocrity is hailed as a genius" in one of his letters...

    • @Orchidoclastie
      @Orchidoclastie 10 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Tchaikovsky never reached Brahms "mediocre" level! All he could do was the orchestration!

      Some of my favorite musical pieces are by Brahms. I love the Hungarian dances, his first piano concerto and violin concerto. His four symphonies especially are masterpieces

      L' Orchidoclaste Brahms also possessed far superior orchestration skills by a LONG shot.

      Tchaikovsky was narrow minded, self-conceited bombastic bourgois.
      Boring to no end. Living off the purse of his mistress.
      Oh well...
