NEW to your channel. I just started a low carb diet and so far -- 6 lbs gone! Loving this way of eating! Ive been on WW for 4 years and Im still holding on to the safety net of it but I dont know for how how long!
I was researching the tortilla press through the link in the video description. They gave a "pro" tip. Buy sandwich baggies (hello, dollar store!) and cut apart (good project for the kiddos!). Then use them with the press (a lot less expensive than the parchment circles!). (My comments in parens!)
What brand were the low carb tortillas? Most of the low carb tortillas I've found are made with low quality vegetable oils and still have way too many carbs to be considered keto.
These look delicious! I love big mac salads and I'm definitely excited to give these a go. Real crunchwraps have gotten so expensive too! This is well worth it in saved carbs/calories AND money!
I can't believe how far I had to scroll before finding this question! #Same. It seems like a lot of tortilla products, even if low carb, and she lost me at the American cheese food like product as well. Othwise looks really great!
I'm sure you can make I your own and substitute the cheese, a traditional American burger come with American cheese and if you eat and occasionally is not so bad, but that's just my opinion 😉
Made these tonight. They were delicious. Definitely had the Big Mac flavor. Only trouble I had was getting the burger off the parchment in one piece. Otherwise it worked fine. Thank you for all the great recipes.
I'm watching videos on how to minimize my clutter and possessions LOL. But I've been thinking about getting a tortilla press for awhile. Vicious circle 🥴 EDIT: I just realized the pun, get it? 🤣
i just use 2 chopping boards (granted you don't have any conditions that block adding pressure). wouldn't mind the press but space wise more items isn't always a good thing.
@@RickyT15I guess it also depends how often they need to make tortillas and how many at a time. If they're only 1-2 people, I don't think it's necessary, but if they have children and need to make several tortillas 2-3 times a week, a tortilla press could be a good investment. :)
I know it would be more work, but could we just make your soft tortilla recipe and roll out a 10" tortilla and another 4" tortilla, or will they not crisp up when the assembled crunchwrap is fried?
Sounds really good. We are trying it now. I have a little tip about the dressing. Heinz 57 chili sauce. It’s in a small glass bottle like the ketchup use to be in. You won’t be disappointed. Please try.
I love McDonalds special sauce - try this (no ketchup) mayo, vinegar, yellow mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, dill relish, paprika, salt and pepper - the paprika gives it the color and you keep adding any of the ingredients until it tastes perfect
Thanks for the information. But I am impressed with the way you change scenes in the video. For example, you had the clump of ground meat and he dropped it and the next second it was separate balls of beef! That was clever and candy for the eyes. All the best.
Burger King just did exactly this here in germany in the fear of Chipotle expanding to Europe. To be honest I rather have bunless burger than a crunchwrap one, I don't really like Tortillas anyway and they only add unnecessary carbs to the burger. But it's definitely nice for on the go since it keeps all the burger ingredients inside unlike normal burgers where you usually have salad and sauce all over the place after eating.
Ran into your channel tonight. Your recipes look very easy and delicious. Just ordered a tortilla press and I’m going to give these recipes a try. I need to lose weight and I’m hoping this helps.
Made both this recipe and your crunch wrap one. I thought they were both amazing!!! Kids had mixed feelings on which they liked best. Hubby liked both. Very filling but messy to clean up afterwards. Thank you for sharing, will make again 😁♥️
That looks fantastic. Off to shop for a cool press like yours. Quick tip from me, never ever use cooking spray on non stick cookware. You can check out why. Cheers, Michael 🇦🇺
Great recipe! I've actually been doing variations of this for years, usually just making a square burger small enough that a single large wrap can be folded up to close it up and toast them in the oven. I have made this version a couple times though (with a single patty as I don't have a press) and everyone raved about it! Incidentally, if you wet all the edges with water where tortilla will fold to itself or the other, it sort of glues into a single piece. Although this works with flour tortilla (the same way you used water and flour to make glue for macaroni art as a kid), I'm not sure if it will work with keto wraps. Thanks!
This looks fantastic. Also, you weren't nauseous. You were nauseated. (Trust me, you're not nauseous. You're a lovely person who would never make others feel sick.)
No ketchup in Big Mac Sauce. The pinkish color comes from paprika. Mayo, mustard, relish, a little bit of grated onion, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, vinegar, paprika.
It looks tasty but I would prefer to try a recipe that doesn't include any kind of flour or tortilla at all. Ideally, a burger that uses fried cheese (extra sharp cheddar is my favorite but I'm sure others would work well, too) that hardens upon being removed from the heat instead of anything made of flour for the shell or bun part. That would probably be virtually carbohydrate-free if it was possible.
I agree… I haven’t tried the “Chafflle” recipe that’s been floating around the internet, but I’ll bet a version of that (using hard cheddar) would might be a good option!
I just found out the actual recipe for Big Mac sauce (don't ask where I got it, it's a secret) 1 Cup Mayonnaise 1/4th Cup Sweet Pickled Relish 2 Tablespoons Duesseldorf Mustard (regular will do) 1 teaspoon white vinegar 1 teaspoon onion powder 1 teaspoon granulated garlic 1 & 1/4th teaspoon of paprika 8th of a teaspoon white pepper
Jordan Stallion of the fast-food secrets club. He got it from Dan Kudrow who is the Head Chef at McDonald's. There is no ketchup in Big Mac sauce. Here's the real ingredients on how to make Big Mac sauce. Do with this what you will. 1 cup mayonnaise ¼ cup of sweet pickle relish 2 tbsp of Dusseldorf mustard but regular mustard will work. 1 tsp of white wine vinegar 1 tsp of onion powder 1 tsp of granulated garlic. 1¼ tsp paprika ⅛ tsp of white pepper Have Fun!
I know LMNT sponsors a lot of keto channels, but does anyone else have a hard time drinking these? The first time I got one I was so excited to get everything I needed for my electrolytes in one drink with some flavor, and some "just water" alternatives. But when I poured it into my water bottle (maybe 32 oz), it was a salt slurry. It was SOOO strong. I had to pour it out. The next one I used 1/3 of one, and it was STILL way too strong. I have had to move all the way down to teaspoons of it in large volumes of water. All the channels rave about the stuff, but coming from someone who even LOVES 800 mg of sodium in V8, this stuff is SO hard for me to drink and $$. I love your channel, I even see other channels reference you.
I've noticed that some people just cannot drink it due to the extreme saltiness while others have no problem with it. For me, it was a bit much at first but I quickly got used to it. I dont drink it as often now as I dont feel the need for electrolytes much anymore but when i do have it, I usually use half a pack in a glass of water and its fine.
My main issue with it, is it doesn't have nearly enough potassium, but yea a bit too much sodium for my liking. Drop the sodium, to around 6-700 and add at least 800 to potassium, and I'd be pretty happy
You are not alone. It takes me two days to get through one packet! I just add a tiny bit to every glass of water and figure it all works out in the end. Even though I did buy some I am sick of all of the basically embedded ads for this stuff-I have taken to fast forwarding through them so I can see the recipe!
I had a hard time at first also, but i put a whole lmnt in 16 0z it was way too strong now i use 1/2 in 16oz and put a full into crushed ice 32 oz water so delicious my favorite is Mango Chilli
I have no problem with it in 16 oz, however I bought it once just to try it. It's absurdly expensive, especially when you can make an endless supply of your own electrolytes for $20.
OMG 🎉 you quiero TB and MacD! What a great idea. I won my tortilla press years ago and always looking for new ideas. Annie, you can lift some serious weight!
Nicely done and made me laugh along the way. 🎉 Thanks for sharing. For all the other Ketoers out there, I too have had the light headedness she spoke of. Only to be rescued by electrolytes. No I am not payed by LMNT. 😢❤ Ooopppsss. Paid. Laid, layed, lie, lie, lay... Who knows? 🤔
Franz Bakery makes it. It was on sale at Costco a month or so ago. Still pricey. Also, I had to toast it to get rid of a weird texture -- it kind of dissolved in my mouth.
Just as likely you were suffering from Hypoglycemia. Many people who suffer from obesity, can also suffer from what is called Reactive Hypoglycemia. that is where your Insulin drops your blood sugar too low for the strain you are placing on your body through a strenuous workout. Your fat based Ketones can handle certain types of aerobic exercise, for instance running a long distance. But it is a much slower form of fuel thus it can be effective for long distance running. But if you tried to do a sprint you may experience this same type of hypoglycemia. Usually simply waiting for your body to recover between sets will help.
This looks incredible!!! Omg I’m new to this world due to a newly discovered wheat allergy and this stuff is definitely doable with a wheat free tortilla :)
I get insane for crunch wraps and Big Macs. This will scratch that itch without blowing my lifestyle Thank you!!

Flattening beef burgers in a tortilla press? 😳 BRILLIANT! 😄 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Great recipe! Quick hack for the "special sauce" Mayo, sugar free ketchup and yellow mustard and a little spice and you're golden!
We tried this for supper. OMG just like a crunch-wrap Mickey D's. It was just as you described it, easy, crunchy and omg delish. Thank you so much!!

Yes, what is the brand of low carb tortillas and where did you find them?
Aldi carries Guerrero multi grain & plain wraps. 16carbs BUT 16 grams of Fiber! Zero carbs!

Actual max sauce doesn’t have any ketchup in it so it is even easier to be low carb. The red color comes from paprika alone

Cool idea! Btw, Big Mac sauce is made with mustard, not ketchup. But I like to use both.
Good afternoon KetoFocus. Now that looks like the perfect way to make a burger. Thanks for sharing another great recipe. 👍
You can try to carmelize some scallots or a sweet(er) onion and skip the sweetener in your sauce.
Looks good...but, how many carbs? I don make anything without knowing the carb count. (total, not net)
Thank you for this! I sense these will chill my cravings for junk food from time to time. I love healthy food now but sometimes...😂❤
What are the macros for this recipe? How many carbs?
