You are one of my top favorite keto personalities, and I’m glad that you’re not caught up in the fasting and that you are now going higher protein, which are my goals as well. Trying to skip breakfast in the morning always made me feel terrible, so I can’t wait to see how adding it back in is going to help everything.
Thank you! I've been trying to be carnivore for at least 8 months -- not very successfully. It's just too restrictive. This video was exactly what I needed. Silly me, I needed a reminder that eating vegetables, olive oil, and even lupin pasta is okay. Immediately I felt relieved and went out and bought ingredients to make the chopped salad. I love your sense of humor and realness. Keeps me coming back.
Same, about the carnivore. For me it has been 3 months. My issue is I'm a gardener and I eat my vegetables from my garden and garden season's coming up in my region and this summer I will be eating my garden so I guess I'll be ketovore. One thing I do realize about being carnivore and not having all the inflammation or the pain I will not ever go back to processed foods. I will incorporate my veggies though and fruit.
@@mistyriennett5902 Agree about how carnivore makes me feel. I have more energy, my mood lifts, bloat goes away, all those great things. But meat and eggs all the time tastes "dark" to me so, adding a few tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, fresh herbs, green onions, etc "brightens" up flavor. Gardening is fun so it hard to give up fresh veggies.
You gave slimmed down so much. Congratulations! You look great. Please make more what I eat in a day videos like this. I’m trying to eat more protein and lower carbs as well and I need ideas. Thank you.
I've done keto and IF bit also have moved to higher protein. Ive always loved your content and fabulous recipes! Adding salami to my grocery list because yum! Those egg bites look amazing! And so does the salad! At 60 years old I can testify that it gets so much harder to lose weight as we age. Upping the protein makes a world of difference!
I haven't been watching any videos for awhile. You look Fantastic! You've always been beautiful but now more Fit, Healthy and Happy. I need to get back on the band wagon seeing you has inspired me. Thank you for continuing to make videos and sharing you life and results with us.
I'm still doing IF 16/8 with 2 meals a day and often a protein snack mid afternoon when I'm laboring outside gardening and landscaping. Increasing protein has really improved my strength and energy. And it has eliminated my nighttime craving for sweet snacks :)
I chuckled at the casserole video only because I learned to watch the whole videos before I spend the time, writing it down and saving it …… so I think I will cook the garlic by itself ahead of time then it’ll be cool and make sure it’s done so thank you very informative
You remain my favorite low carb/keto. Your recipes are THE BEST, your sponsorship selection is always spot on and so are your observations on this lifestyle as a whole. I'mma do the protein thing. I'm in Portland!
Processed meat such as salami, peperoni, or even deli ham isn't great though. Made the mistake of eating processed meats doing low carb high protein. There is protein then there is healthy protein.
Well, lifting weights 5 days a week is a big part of the reason you have slimmed down!! (So wonderful that you are addressing those older person problems BEFORE you get old!!!)
It seems the observed general progression goes weight loss with keto, followed by muscle gain with upping the protein. Too much protein when you’re not working out will slow results, not upping the protein when you start to work out will slow the gains. Sometimes people think advice is contradictory, it’s not it’s just in its correct season and for the right audience. I noticed once I actually got into my perfect BMI I started to look scrawny on keto and I needed to add more protein, a tad more carbs(carb cycling with sweet potatoes, not M&Ms) and lifting weights.
The advice for people not to take too much protein and make sure that they’re doing actual keto macros when they’re trying to just lose that weight and stay satiated still still stands. It literally depends on what part of the journey you’re on.
When I make a large chopped salad, I put it in the salad spinner, in refrig, of course. Just put it back in the spinner basket, basket in bottom, lid on top. It stays fresh for several days. I used to use a plastic bag with a paper towel and within a day it was turning.
I loved this! I think i'm going to try the pasta dish but just peel and separate my garlic cloves beforehand. That whole putting the whole thing in there with the outer layer is just making more work for yourself. Just peel the garlic and sprinkle them in the dish and they will soften into a paste even faster and you won't have to pick 'garlic peel' out your dish. I do this when I bake leg of lamb or a roast and it never fails me. lol
Congratulations on the weight loss, that is amazing. I have been reading and looking into increasing my protein and starting to lift weights but haven't really stayed consistent on it yet. After seeing the change in you, I am reassured that this what I need to do to be successful. I'd love to see more or learn more about your journey and what you are doing for exercise and continued suggestions for daily protein options to reach the protein goals.
Thank you for this helpful & healthy info. I was eating Chicken Crust pizza, your delicious recipe, while watching your new video. 🍕 You are such a blessing❣
I was sooo addicted to soda. Like a druggy I had to quit cold turkey and keep telling myself "soda is poison- wrecking my health" I also, thought about the soda companies getting filthy rich off a product they know is terrible for health, and filling our oceans & dumps with plastic & aluminum! I admit, it was pretty hard, but I did it. I dont even think about it anymore. Dont give up!

Thanks for the low carb/high protein content! I also lift, and when I was strict keto (high fat, moderate protein) I was losing hair and struggling to put on muscle. Keto was a great way to start my weight loss journey, but now I find that cutting carbs, avoiding added sugar, and lifting heavy is the way to go.
I also do low carb, trying to keep under 60 carbs per day, and only eaten carbs along with a protein. I also do intermittent fasting - eating most days between 10 and 6:30. I lost 26 lbs in 5 months this way two years ago and have kept it off, mostly. I weigh 107 now at age 82 and 5 ft tall. I rarely feel cravings or even hungry when I stick to this diet plan. I have lots of chicken and fish and mostly sustainably raised, organic not processed foods. Very satisfying. p.s. I have very low self discipline, yet this works for me.
I am post menopause and I believe this is part of the reason I'm struggling with losing weight is because I don't eat enough protein. I tried the egg cups made with Canadian bacon, they're really good and will keep making them. Thanks, you always put out good content mixed with humor.
Loved the easy egg bite recipe idea. So easy, and great punch of protein. The Italian chopped salad looks very yummy! How long have you found that lasts in the refrigerator? - Michelle
When I need roasted garlic whole in a dish, I prepare it first a little. Whack it root side down on the counter top to help loosen the cloves...if still too compact, whack the top part as well. The point is to loosen the cloves, not remove them...something I learned here in Spain. Microwave it in 30 sec increments until there is a little give when you squeeze the head of garlic...then add it to whatever for baking/roasting in the oven. BUT, be sure to drizzle a little olilve oil on the top as this will help it roast quicker and better. To get the cloves out, you could press the head between two smallish cutting boards and scrape up the pulp. I can handle a lot of heat and so can squeeze out by hand, but in a hurry, the two board trick is indeed quicker.
put the lettuce and stuff in separate mason jars. I have kept mine around 2 weeks. I also use the mason jar sucker outter thingy. but a paper towel in the bottom of the lettuce jar and spinach and I kept it almost 2 weeks.

I love your white salad bowl. I'm looking for the "perfect" salad bowl. Mine are either too small or too big and I eat salads a lot. Thanks for the recipes!
ok i'm making those egg bites RIGHT NOW! 👍 TIP FOR YOU FROM A GARLIC LOVER (seriously I eat it raw too). First you need a couple of items: A small oven safe Pyrex or other casserole type dish, no more than 6" across. If it has a cover, great, if not, aluminum foil works too. I typically find these dishes in my local thrift store, like Goodwill, Salvation Army, or St. Vincent de Paul. Some pre-peeled garlic, usually comes in little bags in the deli area. Alternatively, your local Asian store may have some too, they use lots of garlic in their dishes (and it may be cheaper). Pre-heat your oven to 400F. Dump the garlic into the dish; cover/almost cover with olive oil, or a mixture of EVOO and avocado oil. Sprinkle with salt. Cover and bake for at least 20 minutes or more, depending on doneness. Remove from oven, should be bubbing! Let cool for a bit, and you'll have the most amazing soft, sweet roasted garlic (and oil) that you can use in _everything:_ pasta, salads, eggs, sandwiches, veggies, etc. 👍
Loved the eggs. Made them with ham, and doubled the cheese, though. Added a sprinkle of red onions and chopped cherry tomatoes. Used garlic powder instead of salt. When done, put some organic salsa and thinly sliced avocado pieces on top. Washed all down with a mimosa. Delish! 😂
Definitely going to try your chopped salad. My husband loves an Italian style salad, so if I do what you suggested and mix the dressing and toppings separately, then keep some bags of chopped lettuce, he’ll like that he can make his own, without the lettuce getting wilted. And yes, I always have some salami or pepperoni on hand for a quick protein snack.
Thanks for this! I would never take that much time to make a casserole. I think there are a lot of recipes out there that are just not tested. I'm also adding more protein to my keto meals.
I had to have used this same recipe. The same thing happened with me from oven to oven again, then stove top with heavy cream and chunks of half baked garlic. Wasn't too bad, but probably won't do it again. I will be incorporating more protein, as I am at a standstill. 😊
Looks good ! Sounds good . Will try tonight!!! I was just wondering what kind of bake we are do you use ? Thank you . I have subscribed since you start ! Thank you for your dedication and amazing recipes! 😊
I can’t do too much protein. I do great on 60-80% fat, 20-35% protein, 5 % carbs. Tried carnivore for 60 days religiously. Lost 3 lbs. Yeah 3 lbs. Turns out some of us turn protein into glucose. Several friends have done great with carnivore/ketovore. Not me though. And I like my avocados, cabbage, asparagus, salads, etc
Hi Annie! I'm curious as to what your daily macros are now on your high protein low carb eating? Also, where do you try to stay with calories per day? I'm trying to stay around 70% Fat / 25% Protein / 5% Carbs. I really don't count calories though. My A1C has dropped significantly but my weight has plateaued for about a year. I do not intermittently fast. You look GREAT BTW!!! 👍🏻
Omg. What a coincidence! I made the same eggs today but with prosciutto instead of salami and hard cheddar. My egg yolks cooked to much but hubby loved it ❤
I do the same kind of thing for breakfast, that I call an egg soufflé. I use at least 12 eggs, some spices, add cheese and whatever meat and veggies I have and mix it. Then I pour the mixture in a large greased baking pan and cook. After 30 minutes or so, I have an egg soufflé. I let it cool a bit and cut it into abut 9 portions that I can eat all week.
I live in Oregon too! Not far from Portland. My husband and I did really well last summer on Carnivore, lost 40lbs, so we just started back on it. I love how I feel on Carnivore! I'm going to try making those egg bites today. 🙂
Perfect thank you! I am a terrible cook and have been looking for a high protein breakfast that I don't have to make a big mess in the morning. I thought about muffins but couldn't figure out time and temperature. I'm looking forward to trying these tomorrow am :) At 68 I started keto and lost 30 lbs but I also lost all muscle and strength. I've learned that I need 140 gms per day which seems astronomical to me so I'm emphasizing protein over carbs and fat in order to get enough calories.
I'm allergic to Insulin, so I'm only allowed 4 carbs per meal max... 12 per day. I wish I could go back to having more. I can't even eat tomatoes anymore bc the totally spike my blood sugars too much 🤦🏻♀️ I found very few veggies I can actually eat... Supplements to the rescue for vitamins & minerals; unfortunately, even some of those have carbs~ 🤦🏻♀️ WTH!
While low carb will absolutely create weight loss, in my case, and I did it for years, It caused increased cholesterol and blood pressure. I am now plant based focusing more on fiber and my system is regular, I am less angry and no longer stress about food but rather love fruits, veggies, and I am not killing other beings to support my life. I no longer need to DIET at all. Lift weights, eat fresh Whole Foods and stop focusing on food. After all, being overweight and needing to diet is very much a privileged problem. There are many countries who don’t have to worry about this at all because they don’t have excess in their life.
You look fantastic! I need to increase protein and release weight, so t hanks for the inspo! Have you tried using a silicon muffin pan for egg bites? Perfect for those.
I probably would have peeled the garlic and thrown the cloves in amongst the veggies, and roasted them that way. Then just mash them a bit for even distribution.
You should always wash mushrooms first. They don't absorb much water and you are going to cook them anyway. They are grown in sterilized manure and have bits of it on them.
I always roast my garlic for an hour. I don't understand why your recipe said half an hour. But it looks like you knew it was needed! The way I cook it is to drizzle it with olive oil and herbs and wrap it tightly in tinfoil and then roast it. I understand that doesn't get the garlic into the vegetables but it does work and is yummy especially as a spread
I too had a failed Instagram recipe using the same method for baking the garlic. The dish had tomatoes with the cut head of garlic in the center. Roasting at 350 for 40 minutes. The tomatoes were cooked but watery and the garlic was rock hard. 🤨
your recipes have always been a success for me. thank you. would you consider creating a keto version of Little Caesar's Crazy Puffs? they look fun and yummy but too many carbs as they are now.
I was so excited when I first discovered Lupin pasta.......I rushed and bought 3 different types. To my dismay I discovered I can't tolerate it. I ended up with a terrible stomach ache and bloating like I have never experienced in my life. My heart was broken because I have really missed pasta....but I will have to continue to go through life pastaless. 😢 But yaaaaaaay egg bites. I'm making a bunch of those puppies tomorrow. You look wonderful btw.

@@leahrowe847 omg I am so sorry. That sounds dreadful. If you are into alternative solutions check out Joe Dispenza. Maybe that will work?
Is it reasonable to eat while working in front of the PC?
I probably would have peeled the garlic and thrown the cloves in amongst the veggies, and roasted them that way. Then just mash them a bit for even distribution.
You should always wash mushrooms first. They don't absorb much water and you are going to cook them anyway. They are grown in sterilized manure and have bits of it on them.
Great idea love this ! Thanks
I live in Oregon too 😊
I use Mac milk in my coffee. I love it. If I don’t want to do dairy, I’ve found Mac,I’ll is the tastiest alternative.
That was avocado oil? Shoot! I thought it was Windex! No wonder mine tasted like soap! 😉
😬😉😬😉
Kaizen pasta prices are insane. On Amazon, 1 1/2 pounds for 32.00. Absolutely crazy. But thanks for the recipes. I will try the egg bites.
I am always hungry! 😮I guess I need more protein in my meals. I hope it helps.
Wow you look so spectacular luv ❤️ 😍 higher protein ? Im so doing this !! 🎉😉✌️

I can't eat garli, so I will make the recipe without the garlic, but maybe some onions will be nice ont this dish
🧛♀️
You could always roast the garlic separately. 😊
Did you add roasted bell peppers to the salad? Is not listed on the ingredient list 😊also Feta cheese?
The chaotic energy of the order in which you cracked those eggs ... girl, you are the gem.
Do you have any videos or tips for vegetarians trying keto?
Hey...... never put warm food item inside fridge.... it can damage your fridge cooling system
Hi I love your recipes all your healthy meals they helping me to lose weight thank you God blessed
You look great! May I ask, do you stay in a calorie deficit and/or track macros while upping your protein?
1:06 thanks for keeping it real, and sampling the goods! 😅😂
This video shows 5 hours ago. You are not eating all these veggies now are you? Made my mouth water.
Use a set of tongs to squeeze the garlic bulb
I like your egg recipe. Do you reheat the leftovers?
