      Thanks, Chris, I appreciate the comment. My K board took 6 weeks to arrive. I installed it yesterday. My end stops are NO, but I don’t think they’re working. Your info on how to plug them into the board may be a solution. I’ve ordered BTT 2209’s, v1.2 from Amazon based on Kelsey Fabrication’s videos about the Lerdge 2209’s. Then I watched your video , and saw you installing the jumper wires, but not the pins? Also, removing the 4 jumpers was a surprise. Kelsey didn’t say or show that? So there’s some confusion there. That’s for this video. And thanks again for commenting.

    Hey Chris, another outstanding video. im kinda bummed about your amount of view mate. These videos deserve a lot more. You are ultra informative, cover almost everything, and I have a sneaky suspicion that other TH-camrs use your knowledge for their own videos. I have a video idea for you as well. The V1 engineering site had a "Low Rider CNC" available for makers. I had a Skr1.4Pro Board and 2209's Without sensorless homing (for the auto squaring function for the Z and Y-axis). I did end up getting everything functional but had a hell of a time setting it up and marlin to get those functions. Thank God for those videos on the Skr board you had and the tmc35v3e3. i would have been still trying to figure it out. While i was in Malin i noticed Spindle options as well as Lazer options. (I think the laser option would be better to program) My plans are to have a CNC that doubles as a laser engraver. Even an overview of those options would be a great help. Thanks for the help mate.

      Thanks! I have never understood how the TH-cam works, but we do what we can. I have always wanted to do a CNC kit live the low rider, but have never had the time. I would be glad to go over the whole thing. We will see if I can get to something like this over the winter. Take care.

    I got burned when they dropped support for the Lerdge-S board with the last few software versions all having some combination of bugs. Including no thermal runout protection. So I helped the porting effort of Marlin to that board and now it runs with that. Which reminds me to test the latest TFT changes and push my code for switching the thermistor type.

    I've been watching this video, and working on my Lerdge K setup for about six hours how. Kudos to you for making such an in-depth video. I even managed to resurrect my Original BLTouch, and get it installed. So right now I'm trying to HOME my three axis. Here are my results using the settings you established with your setup: X-axis, Currently, it's at approximately 100mm. When I touch the Home X icon, the print head goes up about 10mm, it goes to the right about 20mm, and then it goes down about 10 mm. Y-axis, well, that's weird, the X-axis does the same thing again, and the Y-axis moves forwards (towards the front of the printer) about 10mm. For Z, this is even weirder: The X-axis goes up 10mm and goes to the right until it's pounding on the right tower, at which point I turned the printer off. While that disaster was happening, the Y-axis went all the way to the front of the printer. I think turning off the machine prevented the Y-axis from pounding on the front of the axis, but I'm not completely sure of that. ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED.

I have tryied lowering the currents to 300mA and verified the reference voltage. Do you know if this is normal? Or should I change something else? Congrats for the good job!

    The lerge isn't for everyone. I have it on one of my printers, and honestly, it's a print and go.
    But I don't see myself going for another lerdge printer in the future. They're not as fast as marlin in updating new features, and there was a time they messed up an update when linear advance equivalent was still new. Nevertheless, they offer polished standard features on the lcd screen and a good plug an play ecosystem.

    For 4 years now I'm using the Lerdge board. I started with the "S" board and now today I have 3 K boards running. The service of Lerdge is what it is, but at least it is a lot better as the very poor one from Bigtreetech.
    In general I'm very satisfied with the boards and the upgrades. For Delta's I'm not sure if they have already introduced auto-calibration, in the past that was missed in the firmware.

    Hello, I have been subscribed to you and watching all your videos. I have Lerdge-K board on Ender 5-plus. I installed the power control from Lerdge. Every times when it done printing it shutdown the power without cooling off the hotend first. I contact the Lerdge and they told me it fine on their end and it does cool off first before shutdown. Since it does not work on my, how do I insert the GCode to cool down first before shutdown the printer? I use the usb drive directly to print to the printer. Is there a way to insert the ending G-codes to do the cool down before shutdown. The Lerdge firmware does not allow this on the UI.

    • @ChrisRiley

    This is really cool, and it supports all the features I want, and its really easy to set up compared to the SKR, but what if future features arent supported? The closed source is meh.
    It feels close.
    The duet has all the cable crimping which is a pain, and that large price but includes wifi, but then the SKR boards just seem like the best value with upgradable open firmware where even with a raspberry pi they are still significantly less than a duet.

    • @ChrisRiley
      @ChrisRiley  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    So, here's my update. 1. I rebuilt the 3 endstops. Now they're one wire to C, the other wire to NC. I got that information from a Smoothieware article. On the Lerdge K board, I'm using the two outside pins. 2. I'm using the latest firmware circa 8-22-22, and I'm wondering what's going on with PID Tuning. I'm not seeing a "DONE" message, but the new values are appearing on the screen after I x-out of the PID window? 3. I got my ORIGINAL BLTouch to do it's initial dance. Frankly, I'm scared of HOMING the axis because of all the pounding I listened to yesterday. 4. I've got a fan over the board for some extra cooling. I've seen it come on, but I have no idea what's controlling it. I've also seen the hotend fan come on, but I'm assuming it works from the thermistor telling it to? I can't verify that, however. 5. I've noticed that all of the videos about the K board are old, like at least 9 months ago, but most are a year or two or three. That's a youtube problem; they should delete all these irrelevant videos? 6. This board is reminding me of the Duet board I tried to get going, a lot, and that isn't a good memory. 7. I'm going to focus on the end of this video today, because you get into senseless homing, and I would like to see if I can make that work. 8. I tried using a ground off the hot end socket plus my tester on the first 2209 to see what it's set at. The numbers I saw were crazy no matter what setting on my meter I used?????

    I'd LOVE to see a short video on how you set the DIP switches on the Octopus Pro board to use a PT100/PT1000 Temp sensor. The switch is sooooo small I am having a very hard time physically setting the switches. I know that it is 1 ON 2 ON, 3 OFF, 4 ON for my setup. But again physically setting the switches is nearly impossible. Maybe if you have 2020 vision and a microscope you can do it.

    Okay, I unlocked my steppers, and moved Z to zero plus a sheet of A4 paper. Then I HOMED the printer. X was fine, Y was fine, but Z came down from 90, and tried to go through the bed. So I'm close, but I need to work on the settings for Z some more. At this point, I'm feeling like the LERDGE BOARD is a lot smarter than I thought it was, and it may actually work once I understand what it's asking me to enter into it's settings.

    • @ChrisRiley

    to be honest the propriety firm ware is not such a big issue it is a really well thought out firmware and i prefer it to marlin it has a lot of potential and you can set everything up via the screen so it is better than complicated compiling of marlin and everything you can do with marlin is there in the lerdge firmware the lerdge firmware is a big win for me i love it i have the lerdge k board and its fantastic and people need to give it a chance to me it wipes the floor with skr boards

    Well, 2 out of 3 isn't horrible. The Z axis went up. The print head / x-axis went to the left, and homed itself, and then the Z axis went up again. So Z-hoome is at about 180mm's.

    • @ChrisRiley
      @ChrisRiley  ปีที่แล้ว

      Probably a logic issue on the Z stop.

    Yes, on price you can get the BTT Octopus Pro board for around $80. I will have to check, But I don't think you can do Senseless homing, etc from the touch screen. I have the BTT TFT35 E3 touch screen. With the recent Marlin update 2.1.2 and the latest Touchscreen update I can finally use the touch screen. That's what I did not like with Marlin and the BTT board was that all or most of the advanced features just did not work. Example: I am using a EZABL Sensor because I could not get the ANTec Bltouch to operate. And I still can not get E0 on my BTT board to operate. So I am using E1. But the main thing is I think Marlin just did not support or work correctly with the BTT advanced features. All Older features seem to work fine. BTT needs to do more testing before releasing their boards to make sure all the features work.

They mean something, but I don't know what that is. I ended up on the Auto-leveling page. So I told the X-axis to go to the center of the bed. Instead, it went towards the left tower, and pounded on it until I turned the printer off. So, I guess that means my mechanical end-stops are messed up. HOW SHOULD THEY BE WIRED AND DESCRIBED IN THE LERDGE INTERFACE?????
