  • Comparison of the stock exhaust, a dual resonator delete, and the dual res delete with the Active Autowerke high flow catted downpipe. In these videos I have the stock tune with a VR Performance intake and the active sound design (fake engine noise) disabled.

    So jealous of the blue. Mine is white which looks good with tint and black wheels but that blue though..

    Great video compassion. Why did you choose this one over the VRSF or CTS Turbo catted DP?

      I live in a state that does yearly emissions testing, and this downpipe guarantees no check engine light. Thus it will pass inspection. And I got it for less than half price second hand with very few miles on it so it was impossible to pass up!

    do you get any turbo flutter sound from the exhaust? only reason I regret not going catless:( I heard if you do a dual res delete you can get some

      I get a very slight turbo spool down noise when I get off throttle or downshift, but it’s very very subtle

    Was going for this same setup on my 340. Any major noticeable changes with sound and performance after the dp?

    • @mevans8646
      @mevans8646  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m still on stock tune, so no real performance gains from what I can tell. With the windows up there’s a small increase in sound, nothing too much though. Still no drone. Windows down though it sounds much nicer!

    How much louder would you say the catted downpipe makes the car? I already have a dual res delete, is it much of a difference?

    • @mevans8646
      @mevans8646  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Mine is a 400 cell, typical cheaper catted downpipes like VRSF are 200 so it would likely be slightly louder. I’d definitely say go for it, it’s a solid increase in sound without it being over the top.

      No tune required for just a resonator delete.

    With the intake and the Catted downpipe, do you get alot of in cabin turbo spool noise?

    • @mevans8646

      More so from the intake, not nearly as much from the downpipe.

      The reason I asked I’ve got the same setup as you do, with dual resonator delete, and active autoworke catted PD. Except I’m getting a valvtronic Axleback installed.
      It sounds like the tone with the Catted downpipe got deeper is this correct?any rasp in person? I’m sure the camera doesn’t do any justice to the sound.

    is the difference noticeable with dp+res delete vs only res delete ?

    • @mevans8646
      @mevans8646  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Definitely, this is a 400 cell downpipe rather than the typical 200 cell aftermarket ones and I’d say it still made a bigger difference than my resonator delete did. Definitely worth it

    • @mevans8646
      @mevans8646  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Startup is quite rowdy if you don’t have cold start turned off in a tune. However if you ever so slightly put your foot on the gas when you start up, it’ll be much quieter. I actually have a video on my channel back when I had stock exhaust that shows the difference. With only a resonator delete it’s not that bad, still pretty loud though. Paired with a downpipe is when it gets a bit over
      The top.

    any drone at high speed ? 160km/h / 100miles

    • @mevans8646
      @mevans8646  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I tend to be pretty sensitive to drone so if you have the valves open on the stock exhaust you can hear the slightest drone at highway speeds. But most other people I imagine would say there’s none. In comfort though with the valves closed there’s still basically none. However speed limits here are well below 100mph so I’m never really just sitting at that speed for extended periods of time 😂
