    Finally did XHP stage 3. I love the quick and aggressive shifts. My only complaint is that sport/sport+ feel like they hold too high of a gear compared to stock tune. This makes the acceleration slower unless I'm using the paddle shifters or I move the shift lever to the left. Did you notice this?

    • @mevans8646
      @mevans8646  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven’t really noticed this in sport, more so in sport+. Stock usually stayed at 3000 but now it brings be down another gear. It’s possible to mess with shift points so maybe that’ll help.

      You probably don’t have a ecu tune. I noticed this xhp stock flash it does this because with a tune there’s more torque in the higher rpms. But when I went bootmod3 stage 2 xHP stage 3 full throttle its kinda crazy and perfect

    Hi, very good review! Has anything changed after a year? Does the car still shift slower in Comfort and Sport than Stock/OEM?
    I also saw that you have an oil temperature. Can that be coded?

    • @mevans8646
      @mevans8646  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Year later, I’ve adjusted some settings to tweak it more to my preferences but overall still very happy with it. Still shifts slow in comfort and sport, it seems to just be the way XHP is. I have the M-Lite so the stock trans tuning might be more aggressive than a 340, and thus it might still be faster than their stock tune. I don’t know. Also I have the 2018 LCI which got the ability to show oil temps.

    Calling a b58 stock with a downpipe is misleading. It's one of the most restrictive parts of the b58 configuration. And AA is one of the best cats. It's simple, yes, but not stock.

      I have a 2021 M340i , it’s almost stock, only have a cts chargepipe and a catted DP
      I installed the xhp st 3 today , the 0-100 is now 3.9sec instead of 4.1-4.2 , although the 100-200 isn’t that good.
      See, it used to be 10.4-10.8 in any mode, now it does a 100-200 in 11 sec in traction mode, 10.22 in dcs off and somewhere between 10.8 and 11 in dsc on
      Also, it kicks when I downshift from 3 to 2 gear, and it kind of goes back and forward
      Is there a solution to this or is it normal to have such a difference when the dcs is off?
      And there’s wheel spin when I engage launch control, but I know it’s manageable, cause my tires are a little bit worn down

    Do you think xhp alone lowers 1/4 times? How about reliability? Does it actually help the trans hold more power safely?

    • @mevans8646
      @mevans8646  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Im not too sure about quarter mile times. If you customize the launch control to get better launches, that’s probably the most you can do with XHP to get any significant 1/4 improvements. As far as reliability goes, you can use the option to increase the clamping force of the transmission. This would become helpful at higher power levels where the trans may tend to slip. Preventing that slip would definitely increase longevity, but at the same time having higher clamping forces in general may still decrease the life of the trans. Much like an OTS engine tune, I’m sure it’s not gonna be *more* reliable but I don’t think it’ll affect things that badly. Ultimately it depends on how you drive. Using launch control 100 times a day will kill the transmission.

      I wasn’t referring to the pops sounding better, I was referring to the engine blips themselves sound far more aggressive. The pops were slightly reduced. Not entirely sure why, it must have something to do with the engine’s throttle mapping with the modified downshifts. I was on totally stock engine tune at the time, so if you’re tuned you can easily adjust them back in. The xhp logic definitively change the throttle response and put it back to normal or what OEM was. With my BM3 tune at 40% pedal, car felt the throttle body was at 80%. When you think about it, it’s kinda stupid but this make us think the car is faster but it’s a foot adjustment. I know we can adjust that with a custom tune, unless you make your own tune. Not sure what I do prefer yet, still playing with the adjustment.

      @@jst1199 We can't change throttle response...no matter how hard the transmission tries, it can't the change the throttle response of your engine. Thats the #1 Internet hoax since the day we released xHP over 5 years ago.

      @@clemensmuehlbacher5124 Hi Clemens, thx for the reply. After flashing XHP, the throttle respond in D-Sports is alot more Linear, actually same as Comfort mode. Before I flash, I was BM3 Stage 2 and the throttle respond in D-Sport mode was very aggressive. Exemple, when the pedal was at 40%, the electronic throttle body was at 80%. If you give me your email, I can send you the logs before and after. I think what BM3 did was wrong and I do prefer the linear feel. I can always change it with a custom tune if I want but XHP definitively did change the logic % of the throttle/pedal which is similar to a stock linear feel. There is nothing wrong with that.

    The delayed upshifts in comfort would annoy me tbh. I don't get the logic that a delayed shift is more comfortable - was this maybe fixed with an update?

      I don’t think it’s so much ‘delayed’ as it is just incredibly slow. I have only done one XHP update since this video and it’s about the same.
