Hey Ben, I’m sure I speak for most DIYers that this video and commentary is priceless to us. I’m replacing my CDF drum and installing new clutches and steels. Thank you so much for this information. It makes it a whole lot easier.
I’m having mine replaced at the dealership as we speak. 2019 F150 only 39,000 miles on it. Still has a month and half left on the manufactures warranty. This seems to be a common problem.
Shallow 15mm socket, 3/8 ratchet. There's a black sheild behind the starter on some models you have to remove. If you don't have that you may have an access plug on the opposite side of the Trans up front to access the nuts
You save my life lol I work at a Chevy dealership and they sold a Use car with a bad transmission Customer tried to Sue the Dealership So the owner Gave to me to doit Cause he’s transmission Guy it’s busy with Warranty work lol Soo I’m stuck with this truck so that been said Thank you for this Video it’s going to help me a lot and I Can keep my Job a little longer 😂
@@BigBensCarsAndCycles Thank you i will I got it done it wasn’t that bad thank you again just one question when I get the new one this trans come pre-filled with fluid comes top off or I have to top it off
Ive got all the inverted torx off the transfer case, it has a little wiggle but cannot get it to slide back, how much force is usually required to remove from the transmission
HEY BEN, I came back to watch this Video again, It appears as tho the Tech's can't Find / Hear the Rattle I have since they did the Tranny replacement on my 2022 F-150. I been Looking, and going back and forth with the service writer for what good that's doing, I have Video's of the Noise and it sounds like it's coming fro outside the truck at the Fire wall area and seeming right at the top at the Dash, that's where I hear it. And it wasn't there before they did the Tranny. 🥺. Would you have any Ideas maybe? If they can't figure it out today, they wan me to come by 2 morrow and ride with (the Tech I'am told)???
Hi, yeah you can drive it to the dealer. If its a new transmission, the solenoid strategy will need programmed to improve shift quality. And the adaptive strategy needs reset too
I came by here to see just what was happening to my 2022 F-150 4X4, mfg date of 03/22, That (4) Technician's have Determined (at one Dealership), that the NOISE I been hearing, (a knocking noise) altho very slight, is coming from the Transmission??? I'am Really bummed out that my New F-150 with 4600 Miles on the ODO has to be torn apart this far already due to a Manufacturing Defect inside of this 10R80 Tranny??? I been told that my Truck's Transmission should be an "updated" unit from the build date?? The dealer got the new transmission last Monday 09/25/23 and finished the Install Friday 09/29/23 and reported to me that the noise is gone? 🤞🏻. I just hope the Technician got all the Parts and hardware, nut's Bolt's, Washers, connectors ,covers and all put back correctly and Torqued properly, and the Transmission fluid level is correct. That is my biggest fear, that something wasn't finished properly and something happens down the road on my new F-150 4X4? Great Video here, and a TON of work to do this Job. Thanks.
Hey, not to worry.. it would be pretty difficult to mess this job up. It's all nuts and bolts, it should be obvious if something wasn't done right. Good luck to you with your new transmission!
Thanks BigBen, I'am guessing with all the 10R80 Issues that these guy's have done a Number of these. I am just a Picky Customer that worries about everything 🤔. If I was closer to my Brother, I'd go up to his Joint and put it on his Rack when I get it back and he and I would go over the Job. But, that ain't gonna happen. I'll just have to trust these guy's know em like the back of there Hand's by now. Thanks again, It does help me have some kind of faith in these guy's down their knowing that the Job is pretty straight forward. 👍🏼👌...

Wow big job! My 18 F 150 4x4 is leaking from front 61, 500 kilometres, how long to remove?
Hi, they can be removed in a half a day
Thank you for great video!
What did you use to take out the bolts out of the torque converter? And did you go through the drivers or passenger side?

On the front next to where the starter bolts in

Can I still un-bolt the sway bar if I have my truck on ramps?
@@TheTechGuider Yes, just be careful when removing the rear driveshaft because you'll lose park - I'd apply the parking brake
@@BigBensCarsAndCycles Jeeze didn’t think of that. Thank you.

I dont have any social media accounts except this youtube channel. i dont know how to upload something to youtube from my photos and stuff.
Probably the more for the torque converter

Do you hired working automatic transmission rebuilder 😊
Jeeze what a chore. This may be the last ford I buy lol.
I don't blame you!
Awesome video. After it’s installed does it have to be programmed or anything? Can I drive it to the dealer to clear codes?

It’s a used transmission. I installed it in my driveway thanks to your video
So on a used transmission all they are doing is clearing codes?
@@patbonilla9960 On a used one, they still need to program the different solenoid strategy and reset adaptives
Can I do that myself with forscan?
