Verizon USA charges $10 per month plus taxes and fees that bring the total monthly cost to approximatey $16 per month. Additionally, there is a $35 one-time activation fee plus taxes bringing the up front cost to $50 just to get started.
The thing that bugs me the most is no prepaid support. We pay $30pm for both phones on Tmobile (2G data each) prepaid with 5G data too. Now if we want to add an Apple Watch we have to switch one or both lines to post paid pay $60 a month for one line plus the $10 for the Apple Watch. So I'd be paying $15 + $60 + $10 - $90 bloody dollars vs $30 ok minus the $10 for the watch so $80 vs $30 ..... $50 more, no way!
I currently pay on T-Mobile 15 + tax prepaid and it is enough for me, I naively bought a smartwatch with LTE thinking oh ok $10 more, boy I was wrong, I have to switch to postpaid for 1 line is $70 minimum, and plus the watch it would be like an increase of 433%, they can go F themselves, such a shame because they ruin what is imo the best use of the watch, keep the functionality of the phone (communications) and leave behind social media scrolling black hole ADHD
I have an iPhone and when Apple Watch ver 1 was released I thought it was pointless be cause you need your iPhone to do most things. Now that they offer cellular w/ GPS,now is the time to get an Apple Watch. I then find out that there is no prepaid cellular support and I’d have to switch my carrier and increase my monthly cellular bill beyond an extra $10. Not worth it to me. I’ll guess I’ll continue to wear my Garmin and carry my phone on runs. It sure was nice to dream though. Maybe in another 10 yrs prepaid support will be available.
@@dafeac I'm om prepaid and found a solution for my kids but only works for supervised Apple Watches - I'd love cellular on my watch but do not want to spend $50 vs $15 for my cellphone plan - I use tmobile prepaid 3G data for $15pm!
@@JacanaProductions hi )) Am I understand you correct? Are you using T-Mobile prepaid plan $15pm for kids watches thru Family Setup. And same time using different operator in your iPhone ?
@@akmankos Other way around - Adults use per paid t-mobiles on phones and kids WATCHES use truPhone watch only plans. Adults do not have cellular data on their watches :(
better be ready to fork over more for surcharges than the cost of the line! advertised for $10 a month on verizon but costs me $21.60 when its all said and done, PLUS a one-time activation fee of $46.
@@Hector-st3sh you can use just the watch. But you need an iPhone to set it up and it has to be set up as a standalone device ( Family Set Up) but I would go with ATT instead. It is 13$ after tax while Verizon is 21$ after taxes and T-Mobile at 25$ (or 20$ with auto pay).
@@MacGorethSo can I get ATT prepaid plan $13pm (one time per month paying) for my kids watches (with Family Setup) and keep using different operator in my iPhone ?
UPDATE FAMILY SHARE---ATT, stated you cannot have cellular service on a family share. They claim, you can have an iphone and watch to an account ONLY the other apple watch/cellular CANNOT WORK. I have spent endless hours on the phone with them. And they claim it does not work. So its like having a ipad with no wifi or cellular service. has anyone actually got this connected ????

Is there any offer on Verizon that lets you connect just the watch or do you need an iPhone I kinda just want to get rid of my phone
