If you are gonna feed money to the biggest monopoly on earth then go for the SE. the Ultra is a waste of money whatever anyone says. I still recommend to stay away from Apples.

Great comparison! I'm team SE - upgraded from an ancient 42mm Series 1 to a 44mm SE 2. Huge improvement, and I didn't feel like I needed the additional features of the Ultra for what I do, which is basically tell time and track my rings. If I'm doing something where I might damage it, I'll either just take it off or wear my old one.
I have an SE2 and the only thing I miss from the nicer models is the always on display. I think that was a big mistep on their part, but it’s still a very usable product

Loved this video! Some of the features the ultra has you can also find in smaller form with series 8 and you have an option for stainless steel, but that will also come with a premium price tag too. I really enjoyed watching you put the least expensive and one of the most expensive apple watches to the test!
Love my 44mm SE2. Upgraded from a 42mm 3 cellular- well worth the money!

Thanks for the video helped me with my choice to buy the Ultra. I want to track my heat rate better, so maybe just buy the strap you were using during the run. I have been using the SE to take small waves when surfing. I wanted to get the ultra for waves that were over 2m high. Do you have any video for diving? I'm worried that the SE will break?

I was really having a tough time on which watch to get. Recently got the ultra, and I love it. The battery is amazing when the phone is near by and on cellular only I’m not than happy as it’s still a tiny watch so being able to go for a walk and use my AirPods to call without my phone… just so awesome

This is fascinating! I’m contemplating buying an Apple Watch and this is super helpful.
I'm a huge believer in "Check before you buy", and am lucky to live within 15 minutes of an Apple Store so, when I was looking to get my first Apple Watch last year, I went in and tried all the models, sizes and colours.
I'd originally been drawn to a darker colour, but wasn't sure of size.
I ended up getting a Nike Series 7 41 in Starlight - didn't need the 8's extra features, but wanted more than what the SE2 had to offer (the Ultra was just too big/expensive). Have to say, I absolutely love it.

The battery difference between the SE and Ultra with both on cellular is HUGE. The Ultra still has plenty of juice at the end of the day, while the SE often needs a charge before the end of the day. It really depends on whether you can give your watch a charge during the day or not.
cellular just drains battery like no other! most people who work at a desk can charge multiple times throughout the day while working
Lol, I use unlimited mobile data with eSim on SE while constant heart rate monitor is on with everything else, but my SE lasts 2 whole days and only then I need to charge it, but my battery health is still 100%, so I guess I’m good
I’ve never had to charge my iwatch SE midday, I dont know what you’re talking about
I agree my se 44mm 2 after some tweaking with settings and mobile data on all day easily lasts 2 days
Bro People Just Use Apple Watch For Their SHIFT, Charhe When You Get Home And That’s It…
As a big fan of the Apple Watch and long time user of the 4,5 & 7 i recently switched to the ultra. And a huge selling point that’s often overlooked in my opinion is the difference in screen design. I have broken 3 watches, hence the changes, due to dropping them. With the ultra I don’t have that fear anymore as the screen protected by that tiny lip. So that alone was absolutely worth the switch. At least for me.

That’s what sold me on the ultra as well. I’ll be using it for a lot of bike trips and being up in the mountains. I know that’s kind of what it was targeted for but it works. So far love it
Definitely seems like a clumsy people problem. I never personally met a person who broke their apple watch (or any smart watch).
So yeh I guess if your clumsy thats a thing, Might as well just be more carful and if cant just get a case, Will be cheaper.

@@mahkeemdehmah10boo87 LOL are you kidding me… Using the ultra for over a year now. no protector, no case and it’s still in near mint condition. The screen doesn’t have a single mark. Sorry for wanting to enjoy a hugely expensive product without having to add extra layers of security due to unpractical design. And yes, the regular Apple Watch has an unpractical screen design, as it’s veeeerry easy to scratch, never mind break. And I wear it from the moment I get up till the end of the day. Whether at work or going for a run or going for a swim. So yes, it’s a big difference and totally worth the upsell. You keep spending money on extras!

I love multitasking on Apple Watch SE 2! The multi tasking is excellent in SE 2! If u really don’t care about ESG,temperature sensor and the slightly big screen then SE 2 is great! It has the same chipset as series 8 and Ultra, crash detection with requires high end Gyroscope,High end Accelerometer!

These real life comparisons are what count, I’d personally stick with the Apple Watch SE as it’s the best value for money. If you so extreme outdoor activities like scuba diving or mountain climbing then go for the Apple Watch ultra

With the SE, can you see your HR live during your workout? I need to see HR for HRTraining in specific zones.
Hi Shervin, was wondering if you need to set a schedule for your Watch Ultra - or can it track sleep automatically? Apple Health Support keeps insisting that:
1. A schedule needs to be set.
2. Sleep will not be tracked less than 4 hours of sleep.
3. No naps will be detected.
4. Other points forgotten right now - will add later...
My Watch Ultra sometimes never shows the detailed REM/Deep/other graphic - but it is present on the iPhone...
An earlier Watch Ultra I bought/returned never had these issues - and I think it detected sleep automatically!
My Samsung S3 Frontier and S4 Watches don't need a phone to be connected and will detect/measure sleep automatically - including naps!

How is it having two watches in the same account? Did your Fitness app freak out by the workout being logged twice? I've wondered about having two, because I'd like an Ultra for trail running and I love my regular Apple Watch for daily use.
I have an Apple Watch SE(2) a few months ago. I still liked it. When I got it the watch band is for small and medium wrists for the band. I rather have it for medium or large since my wrist is big bone under the skin.

Agree with you there, I have or had should I say, both the Ultra and a series 8 non cellular,
I have since sold the ultra as it was a little on the bigger/thicker side, plus did everything my series 8 does. I’m never usually without my phone either.
My only draw back with this is when I receive a WhatsApp message, neither phone supports this so other than have a notification from it, you can’t reply.
All in all, for most of us, I stick with the series ones over the ultra. Unless they reduced the price of course

My se 2 last roughly 3 days sometimes 4. But I also have a lot of things turned of that sync automatically.
I actually prefer cellular. Having a cellular network connection wherever you go even just on the watch will be important.
The keyboard on the Apple Watch ultra is so much better and so much easier than my Apple Watch Series 7 45mm 😊

I have the SE cellular version which would make this a more fair comparison
I got a non-celluar 1st gen SE and it does almost everything all Apple Watches do, my two complaints being 1. battery life and 2. the iPhone reliance. Apart from the fact that I didn't get the cellular version cause of the added monthly cost and battery drain concern I also don't like how much it relies on the iPhone, an issue which expands to third party apps too, e.g. you can't edit in One Note and you can't search music on Spotify. The ultra addresses some of my issues but its size and price are putting me off.
yes hopefully it gets to the point where we can do all necessary tasks easier than an iPhone, but doesn't have all the distractions

Just sold my ultra and sticking with my series 8 non cellular for many reasons. The ultra is a nice looking watch, but after the novelty wears off, you can practically do the same with a 7 or 8
I got the SE, but now wish I had got the Ultra, maybe next year...
I got the ultra because I’m super active so never needing to worry about durability and battery was a huge win for me

I have the 2nd SE, I like it seems like it gonna last long. I like the ultra for the guys more because the screen is bigger, sturdier and it's ideal for people who hikes and swim. Ultra screen is for big fingers people lol. I love when you said Do you know how many coffee I can get for $700, I'm addict to coffee and I would take SE in a heart beat lol.

i have the series 6 and tbh i think its better than the se even the se 2 and i base that purely off the fact of battery life the series 6 lasts way longer so for me its the perfect accessory

The only reason I own Apple Watch now and that’s the cheap SE model is for convenience unlocking my MacBook Pro. My goto smartwatch has always been Garmin Fenix. My current Fenix 5 I used since 2018 still serve me very well for all my outdoor activities and the best part is the Fenix 5 last me for 15 days straight without a single charge. That’s super freaking long battery especially I never once replace the battery since I bought it in 2018.
I just wait for this Fenix 5 is completely unusable before I replace it with Fenix 8 or 9 or even 10. It just this Fenix 5 built like a tank, water resistant, and still going strong.
For payment, I don’t use Apple Watch SE. The iPhone still serve me well on this payment department.
What heart rate strap is that? Didn’t know Apple Watch support external heart rate straps! I use the Garmin models.
My Apple Watch Series 6 screen cracked. I’ve only had it for about a year and a half. The Apple Store wants to charge me about how much the watch cost. Where do you usually repair your watches?
I had an SE2 for 3 months. Really really good Apple Watch. The battery life was good. Now I have the Ultra. It is OUTSTANDING and I would never go back to the older Apple Watch design. Worth every Penny of the price to me. Best Apple product I have ever owned.👍

@@TheTruth74909it’s around 2 days, noting too crazy. With Garmin you can get around 2 weeks, now that’s actually insane. I still love my ultra though.
