    Good video, however if you have a clog, which you usually do if you have the OE, there's a few gallons of water in the machine. Taking off the cap dumped way more water out than a towel can handle.

  • @JorgeSivil

    Came back to show my result... I disassembled it 3 times... But became faster doing it haha.
    I unplugged every hose. The bottom one from the drum, the main one, clear. The bubbles ones (right pump motor) were clogged in the connection to the drum gum (the one that attaches to the door), cleaned them, but it was not the OE cause.
    The motors were working (I extracted them and tested directly to the current with a cable)
    I even disconnected a black somewhat big but short hose from the back, clear of obstructions also.
    The last possibility was the white hose going to the waste. It its the exit one, that connects to the pump. I disconnected it from the pump and removed it completely, it was separated by a plastic union. I connected one extreme to the water and left it flow but nothing was exiting from the other side. Didn't have a long thing to unclog it so I took it to the street and grabbed it frok the plastic union, then I started spinning and the centrifugal force unclogged it, expelling the waste obstruction. Tested it under the water again and now it was flowing. Reconnected everything and worked again.

    Just followed your tutorial and although my machine was a bit different, it was pretty much the same. Easier actually. My control board was on the bottom of the machine facing down in the middle under the drum so the entire operation was simplified.

    Thanks for the video, every other LG washer drain repair video suggested I'd need to remove the lid or tip the washer over, and neither were an option with my stacked units in a tight space. Just popping off that lower front panel saved me a ton of effort and possibly back injury. 👍

      @@JoeS97756 Yeah, removed the Philips-head screws by the filter, and was able to pop the bottom panel out like around 7:55. I must have a different model, because I was fortunate enough to not have to remove extra parts seen at 9:55 and beyond. For complete clarity, my washer was model WM1355HW

    Right, after fearing the worst I removed the waste pipe and watched the machine try to pump the waste water out, it came out like a trickle. After a while, I noticed something at the end of the hose moving in and out when the washing machine tried to eject water. A quick shake of the hose and it released a fairly large amount of fibres from a rug that had been put in the machine.
    It came out like a hair ball and immediately afterwards, the pressure of the water coming out was more akin to a shower! All is well.

    Anyone going through the pain of this at the moment it may not be the pump ,I had a kids sock stuck in the pipe under the drum ,hadn't reached the filter,easy enough to remove pipe from drum but WHAT A BALL ACHE to get pipe back on !! Access really limited so you' re working blind, much cursing and mangled knuckles later it's back on and working. After I'd finished a had a too late brainwave ,the mrs has one of those thin spiral flexible things for removing hair and goop from plug holes this may well have reached the sock from filter end and pulled it out ,worth a try before dismantling everything and now ALL small items WILL go in a mesh bag for washing !!

    • @ibuk4309
      @ibuk4309 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JorgeSivilthe pipe under the drum is accessed from the front after removing panel BUT if something is stuck in that pipe you might be to get to it via the normal filter pipe on front right, you can get long pipe cleaner type plug hole cleaners designed for removing hair etc ,I reckon it may be possible to poke it in via that filter pipe and grab onto a sock or whatever is blocking it .

    easier to turn the washer upside down to change the pump if that is needed. usually the whole pump housing is filled with dirt that stops the electro magnetic pump from running. clearing the pump house might make your pump work again. Just gotta pull on the impeller to get in to the pump housing.

    • @askmrwashywashy
      @askmrwashywashy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Turning it upside down might run the risk of the springs on the top coming off or damaging the heating housing if it’s a washer dryer. Also soap drawer might crack if you tip it upside down

    I checked the drain hose at the back and there are no kinks or clogs. I emptied the water from the black drain hose located in the access panel and cleaned the drain pump filter. When I set the wash setting to cotton/normal without any detergent, softener or bleach, it worked fine. But when I started to wash a load of clothes, I get an OE error at the beginning of the rinse cycle. I cleaned the filter and checked the drain hose again and saw that there is nothing clogged and still get the OE error. I saw standing water in the washer drum when the error appeared. I first started to get the error after I washed a welcome mat, which shed a lot of fibers. I was able to get all of the debris out from the washer itself. Another approach I tried is putting baking soda and vinegar, but that approach didn't work for me. FYI, I have been owning this washer for 10 years.

      Hi mate no worries you can fix it by accessing the bottom pipe that attaches to the tub. It’s the black pipe that runs from the tub to the drain housing. You need to detach it and clean it as some fibres might still be caught. It always happens with welcome mats

    I just bought a set uses and when I put it on regular cotton load it locks and then stays on scaling load and won't do anything. I did the test run process and everything works except the last step draining... The drain filter had a ton of stuff in it when I cleaned it and now every time I drain it it gets cleaner and cleaner. How can I clean that part out completely? Or is it possible that the large drain hose in the back is clogged? How can I check to see if that is clogged?

    • @askmrwashywashy
      @askmrwashywashy  ปีที่แล้ว

      you need to check the drain pipe and the black pipe that drains water from wash tub into drain filter. You can remove the bottom cover under the door if removeable or you can access through a whole under the washer if there is one ( you would need to lay the washer on its side ) or you can uninstall the base of the washer, they'll be maybe 15-20 screws. you'll need to lay the washer on its side as well.

    My Washing machine isnt throwing an OE error but smells strongly. and is retaining a lot of water in the pump drain area. Draining it will alleviate the smell for a few days but then it will come back. There are no visible blocks, the filter is clean. We regularly leave the door open and run tub cleaning cycles. Could the Pump not be pushing strong enough or could there be a block in the drain hose?

    • @askmrwashywashy
      @askmrwashywashy  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there. I would check the drain hose for blockages. You might also want to try and pinpoint when the problem started. If you’re using too much softener/soap could be an issue. Try and do a tub clean with 100mls bleach and 50mls white vinegar that should get rid of the bad smell

    I cleaned filter. Blew on the drain hose that drains to septic or wherever. When I blow in the long drain hose, it sounds and acts like it's going thru. No clog. The water in the washer bubbles when I blow on hose into washer.
    So is it the pump not working causing the OE error?
    After I cleaned the filter and blew the drain hose, I start it up, it runs for maybe 5 mins normal, but OE pops up again. Did this 2 times. Long draining process with that little hose..
    Then, it.. worked..?.?. On the "Rinse spin" cycle. So I don't know what's broke.
