It took me almost a half hour to get the lid off (I had to pry it off as it was just stuck) and I have a blister on my hand now as a result... ugh... But to the point, there was absolutely NOTHING in the pump filter at all! NOTHING! But it's now working just fine and I can open and close the pump filter. Hi mate, thanks a lot for your comment and yes you are right. Fat residue, or any kind of fluff, can sometimes block the waste pipe and restrict drainage.
My F14U2TDN0 from 2017 has no visible impeller behind the filter, just a narrower tube section going a few cm towards the back of the machine. The machine has the recirculating feature which might explain the different arrangement. It would be great if you could post a video showing this kind of system. My machine got into state with intermittent OEs. The filter was blocked at first, but there were still problems after clearing it. I managed to coax it through a couple of tub clean cycles (draining eventually after hitting play after OE), and hopefully it is better now. Test cycle drains fine. This machine does its low speed test rotations at 45rpm. Thanks for the great videos!
That bit about double checking the impeller made all the difference. Didn't see that in other videos on this problem. There was a Color Catcher sheet all fouled up in the impeller housing. My hand is too large to fit into the filter housing. Thought I'd need to buy a hemostat or super long needle nose pliers, but it turns out a regular pair of scissors worked just fine!

Thanks for making this video. It’s been very helpful. Just at the stage of testing the pump (AC version) I am getting a reading of 176 ohms rather than your 158. Would this generally indicate the pump is good or bad? Many thanks
Hi. Wonderful video! I got the same issue but I’m still dealing with it! I cleaned all the pipes/hoses, the DC pump is ok, no clogging. I tried the Test mode. The pressure switch seems work correctly;at 229 is “full” of water and at 255 is empty. But when the drum is empty the pump continues to run without discharging (no more water inside) and after minutes the OE error appears. Any hint? Thank you!🙏🏼
Hi, mate, sorry to hear about the problem you had. It could be time to replace your machine if, despite your best efforts, it still won't empty. Excellent, crystal clear and very useful explanation! Saved a lot of my time. Great tutorial video. The 10mm drain hose was blocked but all the other hoses and the filter were pretty clear. The drain hose was only blocked towards the bleed end so I surmise this would not interfere with the draining of the machine because the bleed nipple is in effect a blockage, so it left me with the pump. The pump harness is proving continuity but the pump is giving me an ohms reading of around 175. I take it the ohms reading to be expected around 158 would suggest the pump reading 175 is an error. Can you say this would be a reasonable conclusion?

My washer/dryer also stopped pumping water out, but when i took that drain hose and put it in the bowl, water started flowing really nice, as the pump made only humming sound, so water comes freely, i guess no blockage😅, but pump just dont work and when i wash my laundry and it is time to pump water out it just makes little humming sound and i have to to it manually, putting the hose lower, then water runs out freely. What seems to be the issue, could really use some help..as ive been struggleing a few days now..🤔😵💫.

I had my new LG washer/dryer combo this morning FWY706GBTN1 to replace my 2018 LG FH4U2TDN2s that I loved very much but limescale rotted my bearings seal and water got out started leaking out the back of the DD on to the element a electrical high pitched buzzing station before Christmas I had someone out to it two weeks ago and said I could pay 180 to have it stripped and fixed new bearing and seal. I decided to get a brand new one as old lg was 2nd hand 3 years ago expected to last a little longer but these things happen 🙄 I got the new DC pump it’s so quiet and no more gargling and whooshing through the pipes very smooth I love it it’s even better than my old one which was brilliant until recently but hated that one thing about lg they always make loads of noise draining every single one of them lol But this new one is so quiet very similar to my old one but some things have changed for the better 👍🏻

@@How-to-repair hi you saved my lg washing machine. Replacing the two pumps fixed the oe problems. Your video saved me a lot of money. How can I donate to your company?
Hi! My LG WM2355CG had an IE error code! I’m draining the drain hose pipe on the bottom left of the machine but I’ve emptied out over 4 liters of water and it’s still coming out. Any idea what it can be?
If you are draining the pump drain hose, there can be a lot of water still left in the drum if the machine has not emptied you will need to continue doing this until the pipe becomes dry before you are able to access the filter. It's a pains taking job because you are only able to use a shallow tray to collect the water but it needs to be done otherwise you'll have a mess on the floor.
@@How-to-repair i’m actually lucky enough to have drawers under the washing machine so I’ve been emptying it out into a blender over 2L I’ve done about 6 of them before it was dry When I accessed the filter, there was no blockage. So I’m wondering how the IE error code correlates to a bunch of water needing to be drained out by the drain hose pipe?
Sir my LG washing machine top door some time not draining aftrr spinning and some time in drying even though i change water pumb but the problem still continue the same and some time code OE or 0E something like that i believe this problem not water bump could you please guid me what should I check or replace model # TR9103AEPF

Hi mate, I didn't remove the door seal just peeled it back to be able to remove the front panel. The main idea behind this was to reach the pump unit and sump hose to check if there are any obstructions like fluff, debris, coins etc.
First thing you want to do is make sure you have the correct voltage at the pump when it's on empty cycle you can also check the sump hose for blockages and make sure the waste pipe has no restrictions
@@edakogel1797 To follow up, the issue was that there was sediment in the tube that had clogged it entirely. When I removed the pump I snaked the drain hose with a thin wire brush to clear it up.

But this new one is so quiet very similar to my old one but some things have changed for the better 👍🏻
thank you for this video 👍
I'm really pleased the video was helpful to you. Could you do me a favour and take part in a poll I've made about the lifespan of appliances? You just need to tick one of two boxes. It will only take about 10 seconds. This might help us improve how machines are made in the future.
Here's the poll question: www.youtube.com/@How-to-repair/community
Also sharing will get more people to participate and we will have a greater impact with the manufacturers thank you for helping.

@@How-to-repair i’m actually lucky enough to have drawers under the washing machine so I’ve been emptying it out into a blender over 2L
I’ve done about 6 of them before it was dry
When I accessed the filter, there was no blockage.

Crystal clear 👌
I wish I knew why you had to take the door seal off?
Hi mate, I didn't remove the door seal just peeled it back to be able to remove the front panel. The main idea behind this was to reach the pump unit and sump hose to check if there are any obstructions like fluff, debris, coins etc.
Hello, good day, my LG machine refuses to drain even after changing the drain pump
First thing you want to do is make sure you have the correct voltage at the pump when it's on empty cycle you can also check the sump hose for blockages and make sure the waste pipe has no restrictions
@How-to-repair ok, sir, I will try it
Hello pls my washing machine turns on, but don't start
Step 1: Drain via the front tube...
What if no water comes out? Water comes out like a bat out of hell if I remove the drain filter next to it though.
Push that front watertube back inside a little bit, worked for me, it was a little bit crushed inside, blocked the water.
@@edakogel1797 To follow up, the issue was that there was sediment in the tube that had clogged it entirely. When I removed the pump I snaked the drain hose with a thin wire brush to clear it up.
@@edakogel1797you are a legend, thanks
Thank you. 👍
