Serious question: Has anyone else experienced what I have? I used to get scammers calling my cell phone ALL the time. So much so that I always left my ringer on silent. But then, one day, it pretty much all stopped! I can’t even recall how long it’s been since I’ve received a fishing phone call - I just know it’s been a LONG time! Does anyone know if the phone companies have been cracking down, or has the government, or what may have caused this sudden (NICE) change? Has anyone else noticed the same thing on their end?

The craziest part about all of this is that this is an entire office building full of people whose job is to scam. Like you get up and dressed, drive to work and punch in to cheat someone out of money on a daily basis.

I think these are fake videos as pretty sure scammers don’t have web cams 😅
      edit ---
after getting so many replies, I wanted to clarify, scammers should be put in place and exposed
but, there is no proof that these videos are legit
especially after seeing the same faces multiple times
not sure why but this channel is built around exposing scammers but just have indians, funny because if we just list down the countries where scammers are from ordered from highest to lowest it goes like
      1. Nigeria
      2. Pakistan
      3. Bangladesh
      4. China
      5. India
      6. Brazil
      7. Philippines
      8. South Africa
now the funny part is, this channel is only focused on India scammer which might be cool if its legit
but big question mark on its legitimacy
Again If they are not actors that this YT channel Hired, provide proof and if the youtuber is so confident show how he found backdoors to the system especially CCTV
pretty sure scammer cannot afford IOT based CCTV like TP link (which is connected to internet) and generally use Local Lan based CCTV (much more common in India) which cannot be hacked as its not connected to internet

But the world is full of scammers. Politicians lie and pretend the country is in debt, when really it's an excuse to put up taxes and scam you out of your money. Turn on the TV, or social media and you're being scammed through manipulation. News is fake, it's just entertainment to gain advertising revenue. Take your car somewhere to get fixed and they can scam you and charge for things not needed. Lawyers give advice that fits the system, not real law and how to avoid fines etc. Many people have jobs selling things that people don't need, that's a scam. People make videos and pretend it's real, when it's staged, that's a scam. A lot of people in this world are scamming others, but they justify it in their minds.

I just can't digest the fact that someone gets up after a good night sleep, get dressed up nice, neat and tidy and head to work in a posh office, knowing fully well you rip people off their hard earned money on a daily basis. They come out proudly displaying their badges, flaunting their employment with the Indian IT sector, which brings in huge foreign reserves into the country. I think we should do a bounty. You get a license as a state sanctioned counter hacker. People make reports of having been scammed; you're allowed to retrieve the money and the government pays you 10% of the value you retrieve for the victims. Make a list of nations they're allowed and not allowed to hack against, so any nations with extradition treaties will be out as we have a legal mechanism, but for people in Russia or India? Their governments don't care, if anything it's a win for them; so legalize "forced retrieval" from nations on the "Rampant Criminal Behavior List". Put Iran, the DPRK, Russia, and China on it to start; give India a chance but they'll be on it by the end of the month, I doubt they'd be willing to actually stop it.
A lot of this could be prevented with a few simple laws requiring foreign entity's to use STIR/SHAKEN or not be allowed to make calls to the US; a similar accountability mechanism in India and China and if they refuse, block their nations entirely.

Depends on what's going on and how an ad system works.
Google's ad system is functionally passive. If someone pays for an ad to get sponsored, the system automatically pushes it out more. Google doesn't directly chose what does and doesn't get sponsored as both the system running the ads and the system bringing up search results are completely automated.
There should definitely be some sort of vetting process though. No idea how to even begin to start that, but it definitely should happen.

I mean, they probably do? Unless you have some information that I don’t. But id think the only reason that it seems not much happens is because elderly people don’t think to grab phones numbers of these places, or remember too many specifics to report it. Which the scammers do on purpose by overwhelming them. But take in those factors, it makes a lot of sense as to why it seems like nothing is being done. (Also, why would things like that be covered religiously in the news? The only thing I can’t think of is to try and educate more people) but unless you work for them, and know, kind of silly to assume nothing is being done.
