That's cause you have no clue about quality products. It's a completely different type of intra-muscular fat than your typical random bodyfat. The taste is phenomenal and it melts just by touching it. There's a reason people pay hundreds of dollars for a single steak of it, and it's not cause it tastes like random Croatian fat.
This was the best meal I've never had 😌.

Watched this while eating my £4 steak. Medium rare with sea salt, fresh crack pepper, hint of cumin and garlic. No wagyu but still delicious.

A solid tip for us poor's, try doing some dry aging and you'll take these cheap strip steaks to heaven and back. 100% worth it if you can't land a quality cut like this.

@@novicelifts5197 Wrong, most of that fat is unsaturated. Like it or not, fat is vital. Wagyu is also an exception and when eaten can provide with health benefits.

Initial thought was that you had overcooked it. Though upon your first slice, I can see that it’s beautifully executed. One day I shall experience A5 for myself.
It’s easily done by thinking it’s over cooked. It’s not the best steak to have rare in my opinion. Much better cooked medium.

To this day he is still eating that steak & still pouring more beer into that wooden cup.
I had once the most extreme wagyu steak ever, marbling was 100%, initially I was quite dubious, until the chef convinced me that it was not a blob of grease, but the best wagyu steak there had been, ever. It literally melted on the grill, so I could not taste it, but the aroma was wonderful and the experience otherworldly.
What a bargain you got for only $500 to boot. Nothing like the smell of a bankroll melting completely away as you fantasize about how good it would taste if you could get that sliver of beef before it drops between the grates.....

It's not the waxy beef fat but linoleic acid, omega-3 & 6 which is heart healthy rather than US meat.

Sorry for ruining the joke but wagyu doesn't work that way. They are a special breed and get fed extremely well, also they get massaged.

I feel like this guy eats even more wagyu than Guga Foods, which is a tough feat lol.
Anyone know why he was not basting the steak with the juices? All I can think is that with the greatly reduced heat in the wind up on the table for recording that he could not get the brown you would normally get from it and so was not worth the effort and greasiness which would normally pour off easily with the proper heat. He used the lardons so we can say he was not "scared" of the fat.
At this point, why not just buy a slab of fat?

Good idea trimming the excess fat from a steak that’s 50/50👍. Edit: Not your best. Pan wasn’t hot enough for a good sear on the steak. Onions and mushrooms undercooked. More concerned with the method than the end product.
Look at that meat cut like butter, even used the wagyu grissle to savorize the mushrooms and onions! A fine cut

I am a fine dining server in Vegas , I worked at a Restaurant called Americana in Summerlin and Chef had Kagoshima 25$ a OZ, 3oz minimum..lol .Very fatty and rich.. People love it

It is a dream of mine to get to try a steak like this. One of these days, I'll be able to afford it, but until then, it has to stay a dream. I take cooking steak very seriously, so if I had the opportunity, I know I could cook one to perfection, just as you have here. Excellent video!
