Rock Paper Scissors% needs to be an official speedrun category now
It is very good, but I feel like it just gets solved as soon as the five fastest moons are determined and someone gets five straight wins. Then WR is just unbeatable and there's no reason to try

Fun fact: Mario rarely plays scissors, so the trick to winning is the meme strategy of always playing paper (that some people use irl for some reason even though it makes you super predictable)
I read this just as Mario used scissors.
The reason is that Mario was supposed to be a character for adults, not a children’s character, according to Shigeru Miamoto. In Mario 64, when Mario collects a star, he does a ✌️to the camera, and that was because of Shigeru’s friend and co-worker Takushi Tezuko (I think I spelt the names wrong) liked stuff cute and added the cheesy ✌️sign, that's how Mario became a series for kids. Shigeru thought that banning the ✌️sign was the only way to let him have some peace. It only made it to SMO because Shigeru didn't take part in SMO a lot, but the chances are slim to get a ✌️in SMO.

That rock paper scissors percent is a stroke of genius and you can't tell me otherwise.
If anyone cares, his odds for losing the rock paper scissors 7 times was a 0.78125% chance... And I thought I was unlucky!
He won on the 7th attempt, though. So he only lost 6 times, which is a 1/64 or ca 1.5625% chance. Although that is the correct odds for him winning on round 7.

@@chainsawboy2388 Unless you think he cut an attempt out of the video, the splash screen before the winning run said “Round 7.” I think it’s more likely he wasn’t keeping track while streaming and was just off by one than that he left out a round in post.

I think the RPS run might be better if you have to reset the counter but the run continues, so the more you lose the farther you have to get into the game and the more out of the way you need to go for new moons

If I calculated it correctly, the probability of you losing the RPS game 7 times in a row were 1/2 to the power of 7 which is 0.78%.

You must collect every nut moon in the game. This includes golden seeds, nut moons, and nut sub areas.
To spice things up… in every kingdom where Peach appears in the post game you must take a nut and throw it on the princess head.
This will be the nuttiest category ever. And of course you must finish as fast as possible)

I think Mario has a higher chance of going for rock and paper, because Shigeru Miyamoto banned Mario from using the peace sign at one point due to Miyamoto thinking the games were going too far away from his original idea of what Mario was and were becoming too cutesy.
So by constantly picking rock, you were statistically dooming yourself to fail.

I had no idea about the RPS thing, but that is actually genius! I feel like that would be a great game to play along with during regular speedruns too. Obviously we know now it isn't just luck-based as Mario has VERY low odds of winning that much by chance; it can only mean he's genuinely cracked at the game. Probably all the times he's been practicing when we collected moons but didn't notice, he was getting the download on our micro-expressions
