Stupid idea: Tourist precent. Start with a completed save file. You have to enter every kingdom, and whenever you enter you have to open the map and read the text on the side that describes the kingdom. In addition to reading it, you then have to go take a photo in front of every notable feature mentioned in the description.
That is just amazing.

Yeah, something like it deserves to be an actual speedrun category. Maybe not _exactly_ like it, because it would be too easy to optimize, but something similar.
I feel like during your crime run you could have also given yourself a point for desecrating a dead body since the Sand Kingdom folks you attacked were technically skeletons. Also, I really like the concept of having to "unlock" abilities in that last run.
I think suicide is also illegal in some places so that could have been done in the last few seconds

Stupid idea: Mario64%: Any%, but every Moon you collect, you need to warp to the oddysey. Before unlocking it, you need to teleport to the furthest checkpoint you unlocked. Also warping to checkpoints after unlocking oddysey is banned.

Both times, there was one suggestion that actually sounded like a good, if a bit dumb and RNG-heavy, idea that I could actually see being on the real speedrunning website. The first time it was the Rock Paper Scissors Percent (which is probably the funniest thing you've ever done on your channel to me,) and this time it was the Skills run, don't remember the name
As the person who came up with birdwatching% seeing fir actually do it with a checklist and everything is so cool.

That bird watch run looks fun. The move unlocking one would work better as a hack of the game that actually holds the abilities back until you see the tip.

I think you're allowed to crouch because it's one of the Controls alongside Run, Jump, and Cap Throw.
I don't know if there's a definitive list of the things cappy can or can't say, but everything I remember is in the "Basic Actions" tab of the Action Guide. This includes Jaxi, dashing while 2D, and _crouching to enter a pipe_ , even though I'm pretty sure the game literally tells you to push the crouch button when you're standing on one. idk if it's a thing cappy says though.
You should do that last challenge again, but do it kinda like the first one where you mark down what cappy teaches you and also mark down what he doesn't teach and you can use what he doesn't teach you immediately.
Here's an idea: a regular Mario Odyssey speed run but the timer only progresses when you're touching the ground.
So, I have a concept for that: the game doesn’t consider you on the ground if you frame perfectly jump right after landing. So theoretically, you could beat the game with only the times that Mario is on the ground in a cutscene
@@MysticalOriginz The way i was thinking makes things easier so you don't have to stop and start the timer every time you jump or jump wrong. Basically if you touch the ground, you are counted as on the ground until you stand on top of something that's not the ground. If that makes sense. That way you have to think about where you jump and you aren't just jumping repeatedly the whole time. Makes things more challenge so people have to think of what paths would result in the least amount of ground time.

10:21, I just realised that everytime that you killed a Brudal, it's actually self defense as they attacked first. (also counts as Bowser.)
Billionaire%: collect enough gold coins to make mario a billionaire in USD, which is approximately 1966 coins (in value from weight alone)
New run category: Ground Pound Jump%. An any% run that ends when Cappy teaches you how to ground pound jump. On top of that, you cannot ground pound jump for the entire run

New run category: I'm a newbie% Never call characters and objects by their name. Stuff you can't say: Mario, Cappy, any NPC's, Moon, Coins, Enemies, and Kingdoms. Anything else is fine.
You have 3 lives. If you say one of the things listed, you lose a life. Lose all three and you stop the run. Your goal is the most time btw.

Friend%: find a friend to play two-player mode with you. The run ends when you find a friend
percent% : you start with any% but everytime you get hit or kill an enemy you switch speedruns , run ends when you finish one of the runs
Boss selfie% :you need to take a photo of each bosses (rematches not included) (mario and the boss must both be in the same photo)
Sandwich% may be the best speedrun of all time!

I forgot if I commented this before, but I like that this isn't mean-spirited. I've seen other speedrunners do videos of dumb challenge suggestions, and the whole time there's this air of "YOU GUYS HAVE STUPID IDEAS, I'M DOING IT ANYWAY BUT GOD IT'S DUMB". You acknowledge they're dumb, but still seem to be having fun with it.
What about an upgraded version of "Unlockable Skills"? "Skills%" where you have to get all of them unlocked, but in this case signs also count.
I'm high and was eating a sandwich during sandwich%. I convinced myself for like 3 minutes that it meant I was a SMO speedrunner now.

moonname% - a run where u have to say the name of the moon before you collect it. If you get the name wrong, it doesn't add to your counter and you have to grab extra moons
New speedrun:No speedrun tricks% Where you cant use any speedrun tricks. Ex Roll spin ground pound dive triple jump Ext You also can't use capture speedrun tricks so if you are useing bulletbill you cant shake. If you mistake you have to restart the run.

Broken Legs%. During every kingdom, before you go on to the next one, you must make Mario go into the stun animation that happens when you fall from a high place without doing other actions to slow your fall. Completion of the run happens by beating Bowser in Moon kingdom and escaping out of the cave.

Sand: The state of Nevada’s laws.
Idea: Ground pound on talkatoo or captain toad(if none then ground pound a npc)in every kingdom

I was thinking you could do the pushup run but start the moon count at 0 for every kingdom. So you’d have to do

Pro tip: if you crouch, go in circles (like the "vertical spin" that emits the efects of the "spin flower... thing") and then uncrouch, then you'll go to the "vertical spin" without moving of the place
Speedrun idea: eggopener% - break yoshi's egg 25 times in a row
Other speedrun idea: cutsceneviewer% - view every cutscene of mario odissey without skipping them
I have an absolutely dumb idea: Investment% -> Beat the Game (124 Moons) and then just grind coins until you can buy 880 Moons in order to beat the Bowser-Rematch :)
Also, that might just beat the All Moons World Record

PurpleCoin%: Starts when you start the game. You must collect 69 purple coins in each kingdom that has at least 69 purple coins.
Dram%: Do a dram strat in every kingdom (including snow dram which is required)
Footprint%: leave footprints on every type of ground where you can leave footprints
