- I’ve done plenty of speedrunning, but in these trying times, the world doesn’t need a speedrunner, they need a slowrunner. And that’s exactly what I’m gonna be.

nah my first playthrough was like 5 hours
uh im ashamed to emit it took me idk how long but i went out of my way to get as many moons as i could
@@blakebeaver1857 took me about 40 hours to get to the final boss, after that i learned some useful stuff like cap roll cancelling and cap throw jumps
my first playthrough took me like a week because i went for all 880 moons

I mean, playing a different game is not only not against the rules, there is actually at least one speedrun, in which you swap your game for one trick:

fun fact: on my first play-through of Mario Odyssey I never once saw a T-Rex before beating the game (didn't see the one in Cascade, didn't fall into Deep Woods, didn't do Metro sub-area), so I was really confused when I saw it in the credits hahahahaha
Same except for me I never captured one I saw it in deep woods and 10 year old me was petrified to the point where I closed the game to exit

I did this same thing and only noticed when I went back to do moonrock cascade and could not BELIEVE I walked by the trex on my first playthrough
When they said they had a trick up their sleeve to waste the last hour I was expecting them to delete their file and then do an actual run without restarting the timer.
I like how he played 2 separate games, and still finished it purposely a few minutes after the time he was trying to beat

After watching smo speedruns for a year, you have inspired me to attempt a speed run. If I can't beat the game in at least 7 hours, then I must really be bad at it 😂
I started by speed running the first three kingdoms, then the first 7 kingdoms, then trying a run

At around eleven minutes, the timer just kinda gave up for a while and I love it.
14:12 and 18:47 gave me an idea for a challenge; either you can't, or you can only, use techniques explained by Cappy (or other NPCs) from that point of the run onwards
Might be impossible due to cappy not saying how to jump in cap kingdom. Maybe cappy and signs , if the sign at the start says how to jump.
It says press b to jump on the screen when it starts I think that could count
To make it even slower, just get all the collectibles.

@@sazuke8991 any speedrun fulfilling the category rules can be put on the leaderboard. So if it’s your fastest run, you can put a 100% glitchless run on every leaderboard of the speed game you run.

So yeah, if you are sitting there enjoying the game, you'll add it on both ofcourse, since it will be the first run you do.

Should have %100-ed they game and then submit the run to the any% categiory. The any% category means as long as you “beat” the game you and submit it at ANY% of the game completion

Mine actually was, I spent a whole day trying to beat it, and I got around 7-8 hours
Mine was, about 3-4 hours, mostly me trying to do soeedrun tricks and failing ( I got them, but took a while, the one in luncheon salt pile sucks )
