- So many people leave comments suggesting the most ridiculous and stupidest Mario Speedruns and Challenges so today I decided I would make the bad decision to actually give them a try. Hopefully you enjoy!

Honestly snap% genuinely seems like it'd be a fun mod to use for a race, if you could give both players the same 'seed' and ensure there's no soft locks

Honestly, the Thanos% is actually a good idea, it just needs some checks at deletion to make sure you can finish the run.

Just need to make sure the lost scenario can't happen and you have something fun for races between people too.
That's what I was thinking. Change the mod to ensure each area always has min number of moons to leave and it would be a good mod
Thanos’s snap was intended to curb overpopulation on planets across the universe, so I think it’s safe to assume that the snap killed 50% of each planet’s population individually, rather than 50% across the entire universe at random, so saying “50% of the Moons in each kingdom were killed” makes sense

Toad% Basically starting from a 100% file, travel to every kingdom and talk to captain toad as fast as possible without warping. Please try running this, it would mean a lot. Thx

I love how we act like we know what we're doing, however all we're doing is add "%" next to a word and call it a speedrun

Yeah, I think people forget that % means the percent of the game completed, not just “speedrun”
Rickroll% - Listen to Never Gonna Give You Up on loop 10 times, and get to the radio in Metro from a new save file before the song has finished the tenth playthrough. Timing ends when Mario begins to dance in front of the radio.
Hide and seek %
Normal speedrun but you can't leave a kingdom until you've found the hider in that kingdom

pizza% was the best one yet, so intense and so stressful the whole run
Someone else tried it with Mario party mini games, but they ordered there pizza to try to get it to take as long as possible
Callender% seems like it would be really interesting to see from a bunch of different streamers. Cause depending on where you live the different months mean different things, like up here in Canada, October isnt really Halloween, more so preperations for the winter.
Cat% a cat spawns in each kingdom and you have to find them before you move on
Fir, make a Fir% where you have to capture the tree in deep woods, then making your favorite outfit to complete the run.
To clarify why he has to capture the tree because a fir tree is a type of tree that we kinda use as Christmas trees, and that tree looks like one so yeah

Minecraft%.
Beat as much as possible before a Minecraft day passes (20 min.)
Checkpoint%: You collect every single checkpoint/flag in smo *but* you also have to beat the game!

I feel like theres a genius video idea in a calendar competition. Get two-three people to make a mario calendar in idk, 45 minutes, and then have someone else judge how well it represents that month. Preferably have the judge not know who submitted which picture.
The Snap% run could be really fun for a race (potentially)
The pressure of Pizza% is just too good for it to be one-off

Torture Percent: Your health constantly ticks away, but taking damage heals you up! Reverse No Damage Run!
Alternately: Reverse No Damage could be "Take every form of damage fast as possible"

Next up Delete%, if you bonk or take damage, a 5 random moons get deleted from the kingdom your in. And if you die, you need to get 3 extra moons to complete the kingdom.

Yup, alternate universes exist in Marvel.
And snaps can only affect one universe each because the infinity stones only work in their own universe.
Impostor%: Get the Luigi outfit as fast as you can and then talk to him in any kingdom.
Gardener%. You have to get every plant-related moon. The seeds, the beanstalks, the cacti, etc.
Toad%, in a 100% file, get to every kingdom and talk to captain toad as fast as possible without warping. Run ends when you talk to all of them.
Gamble%
Do the any% route but you have to gamble in every kingdom that has the gambling game available, and you have to get every ending in the gambling. (At least 1 coin win, 1 heart win, 1 moon win, etc)
I actually like the idea of a Thanos% race, because it forces you to take the any% route, & adapt it on the fly.
Talking Ben%. You must ask Ben for every non story moon before picking it up. You can ask for a normal any% for any 3 kingdoms. If he laughs you need to pick up an extra moon. Restart if you get softlocked.
Edit: I tried this run and he laughed so much that I am removing that rule if you try this run.
Game% - any time you collect a moon, you have to spin a wheel and beat a level of the game it lands on. The games MUST include Mario.
(Eg mario kart/smash/Mario bros/Mario maker/olympics Etc)
Costume%. Kind of speaks for itself. You have to collect *EVERY. SINGLE. COSTUME.* Including purple coin costumes and the 8 bit Mario costume.
i love these videos, you should keep doing them fir. Also here's a speedrun challenge that you can try to get modded.
Slaughter%: you start with a 30 sec timer for every kingdom that will count down and kill you if it reaches 0. You can gain 15 seconds of extra time on your life if you kill any enemy such as a goomba for example. Before kindgoms without any enemies to kill like ruined kingdom, you can have a 2 minute timer as it would probably be impossible with 30 seconds to beat the dragon.
Aren’t there enemies that spawn on the dragon for you to kill? The little purple spiky guys?
@@mathcookie8224 yes but 30 seconds to get to the wire, get across to the arena, dodge all the dragon’s attacks isn’t enough time to kill the purple guys on time

Boss%: Play SMO while trying to beat every boss or in general, any NPC that puts other NPC's or Mario at a disadvantage e.g Clepto. The rematch counts too. Time end when you beat every boss. This includes
Broodals
World Peace bosses like Cookiteel(i cant spell)
Bowser
Every Rematch
Clepto in Mainland Lost and Subarea.
and more that I didn't mention.
Saul% You need to make mario wear the crazy cap suit and read out the chicanery rant while inside the city hall.

Social interaction% get every moon that requires you to talk to an NPC
I thought of the best speedrun
Heat%: After every moon put on 1 blanket
Mystery% you get a friend to write down a specific task for you to complete. It could be like getting a specific moon, jumping of a specific cliff, or bonking in a random spot. It could be literally anything. You do not know what it is and you have to guess by doing the things and when you do the right thing, they tell you and the run is over.
Why does this have so many likes???
Hatcapture%. Get atleast 20 different hats from stores and capture 20 different enemies with each of the 20 hats. You also have to spin every moon with your hat(anykind is fine) before you collect that moon.
Like if this is a good dumb idea.
I don't know
Crescent Moon percent. Pick up moons in all kingdoms (Cloud and Ruined excluded) that will draw out a crescent moon (or closest you can) on the map.
Now it’s time for maximum captures. It’s the opposite of minimum captures. You have to capture every single thing you can in the game. This includes duplicates of every capture. Every unique entity must be captured. The only exceptions I will give you are respawning enemies and bullet bills. You just have to capture one bullet bill per cannon.
These videos are hilarious, and I hope that the "Stop sending me ideas" was in jest and you do more. Honestly, there could be some interesting potential in "Thanos races" or similar if it was smart enough to guarantee the game can be completed. Remembering moons off the beaten path to get to get through quickly could be interesting.
Also, feel free to disregard if you really don't want more ideas, buuuuuut:
Orbit%: Every time you pick up a moon, a 2 D sprite of it appears on your HUD and starts to orbit Mario. Each moon starts at a random distance and orbits at a random speed/direction. Get as far into the game as you can before your screen gets totally obscured by moons.
I love Calendar%, it's a cute idea that could be applied to different games! :D

Photograph% find a picture on the map menu and pick one,then get to that destination and replicate it(dark & darker side not required)
Regional% Every kingdom you have to buy the regional suit (purple coins) and you can’t leave until you buy and wear the suit
If there is no regional suit you can skip it, but if there are multiple pick at least 1
World Bonk%: Bonk in every Kingdom as fast as possible

In snap% you can actually progress with the seed that you got. You can either look for the key moon or buy your way out the kingdom.
Speedrun idea: Homeless%
Mario is now homeless and has go up to random NPCs and beg for moons. The NPCs will give him a task or errand to do, like go ground pound this spot, or bring me this seed, or kill this enemy, exc. It could also be transformed into Felon% Mario has been sent to jail and has to perform community service to complete his sentence and save peach :)
This deserves its own stream/video due to the inevitable long length it will have%: 100% but you have to do the moons in order. Not kingdom order though. You can collect moons 1,2,3 in Sand Kingdom, then go to Cap and collect moons 1,2,3,4, and then go back to Sand to collect moons 4,5,6.
That legitimately made me tear up when I saw that the tostarena shopkeeper had passed away 😢
Cars 3%: Kill the number of goombas as the Rev n Go sponsor number (73) in cars.
Gamble% (as seen in superstar mode) do slots on super speed till you reach 500 coins
Democracy%: every second moon you have to let chat vote whether you can get it or not (if chat votes no, they have to vote on more moons until they say yes. Then you have one free one (however you cannot pick one up that chat previously said no to) and then chat has to vote again and so on).
Anyway, great video again!
First one would be good for a challenge race, just fix it so its half in every area and pthe checks okay.
Timer% almost every moon is a timer challenge or getting notes (lost kingdom only will have notes for the moons)
In lost Kingdom, you could’ve got the key moon at the start of the kingdom during snap %
Goomba100%: possess every possible goomba in the game (stacks count all included goombas as possessed)
Someone please make the calendar. I think it would be funny if Fir somehow owned the physical thing
The Snap% is such a cool idea. For justifications and also making the game possible, story moons shouldn't be affected and the chances of moons in Lost Kingdom just not existing should be lower since there aren't any story moons there.
Ultimate Bonk%. Bonk on every wall in the game. Fences count, anything you can bonk on (this counts takin damage from enemies) counts.
Serene%: Kill one regular size Goomba (not the small yellow ones) without jumping on it.
did the serene idea come from the line from super mario bros wonder in the 6-21-23 nintendo direct "that goomba looks so serene"?
That's the one.
Plush% try getting as far as you can in the game before someone buys your plush.
Then again, if you managed to leave the Lost Kingdom, you would be stuck in the Ruined Kingdom since it only has 3 base-game moons.
My suggestion:
Remember the Birdwatching%? Do that but with enemies that you come across throughout the game like Bullet Bills, the Dragon, Gushens etc.
The best speedrun, dinosaursuicide% where you jump off the map as a Dino as quick as you can.
Brother%: meet Luigi as fast as possible
Murder percent, mario kill every thing on sight while trying to beat the game
Sphere% in every kingdom you have to find 3 spheres. If you can’t find 3 in one kingdom the run is over
Fir% Do your favorite moon, in your favorite kingdom, in your favorite outfit, while wearing your favorite hat, and saying your favorite word at the same time at least once.🗿
I was not expecting Ohio%
It’s a little less surprising if you know he’s from Cincinnati
I suggest "stomp%"
The run ends when you have killed every single enemy you can kill by just stomping them, like the Goombas.
If any other kind of kill happens because of you, either a direct not-stomp kill or by accident, you have to reset the run, unless it is an obligatory kill to progress on the game, like the bosses.
Snowman%: Throw Cappy at every shiverian in Snow Kingdom. (this does not include the ones at the Bound Bowl GP)
War% Like a normal Mario odyssey speedrun but you can't beat any bosses. You can still beat Bowser, Topper (Cap kingdom) the dragon and the mecha broodel (Bowser's kingdom)
Skip percent: get 10 skips as fast as you can, it doesn’t matter what skips just 10 of them.
Peach% starting with a complete save file, talk to peach in every kingdom as fast as possible without warping
Love% got through the normal any% speed run, but collecting every Goomba love moon along the way
Moon kill% each moon you collect, one part of the map gets invaded by enemies
I have a hiding spot. Open the door to the odyssey and walk in just enough to the point where you can’t see Mario, but you don’t trigger the loading zone. You will last a while, guaranteed.
when the seekers get out of the odyssey, you´ll be captured immidently

I can’t edit that comment, but I meant to say that they spawn in front of the door, which will also close. People who hide there can only be caught if a seeker enters the Odyssey.

The calendar% was a fun little idea XD
Color%. Every kingdom you spin a wheel with 9 colors: Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, white, gray, brown, and black. Whichever color you get, you can't touch. If you do touch the color, you die.
1% you walk, 5 steps. That’s it.🗿
MaximumCapture% You have to capture every possible capture in the game. The speed run ends when you capture every possible capturable thing in the game
Game%: you control 2 characters playing oddesy, but one is slightly faster than the other.
Next up,fir should do tourride%
It's where you go to every kingdom and visit and use everything on a transportation to get there
Newenemy%. Every time you discover a new enemy, you must take a picture of it, draw a sketch of the enemy in its environment, tell an interesting fact about the enemy, and then kill it. If youre unable to do any of this, you end the stream.
chat% (im uncreative for names)
Whenever the Chat spells "RESET" the run resets
(could be done with a program or the mods just watch when it happens)
Inverted% You play the game like a normal speedrun, but you hold the left joycon in your right hand, and the right joycon in your left hand.
harriet%: every boss except for bowser, the broodal-bot, and madame broodal are replaced with harriet.
BossTrick%. Speedrun Odyssey but half the moons you touch make you have to fight a random boss (story and multi moons included). Once the boss fight is over you get teleported back to where you found the moon. Killing the boss gives you nothing, since you already just got a moon before the fight, plus it would make it too easy. If you die in the fight, you have to fight it again until you win.
i have a idea it is kindness% talk to every character that you can however every 15 minutes you get teleported to a random location on the map including every zone but gravity changes every new zone you get a moon in for 10 seconds after the cutscene ends
Economy%, Get as many moons from stores. Costume moons are included.
In thanos percent cascade you could of gone for the no capture route so the last one would be on top of painting island
Clone%: whenever you take damage or bonk it adds one clone
