    How To Make Tempura Vegetables
    Any vegetables can be used, in my case:
    1/2 carrot, 1 capsicum, 5 snowpeas, 1/2 sweet potato, 1/2 zucchini, 1/2 babu eggplant
    For tempura batter:
    3/4 cup plain flour
    2 tbsp corn flour
    1 egg
    salt/pepper
    1/2 cup cold sparkling water, can substitute with beer for a beer batter

    Instead of using a single skewerbor fingers, I suggest long chop sticks. Faster AND less mess.

      hi Vivian. And yes you can use cornstarch instead of corn flour. sometimes I use equal amounts of cornstarch and flour for extra crispiness.

      Bet the skin becomes bitter or hard or maybe taking the skin off helps it cook better.

    Deep-fried veggies yes, but not tempura. Batter was waaay too heavy. They would never cut the vegetables the way you did.

  • @gayte42
    @gayte42 5 ปีที่แล้ว +19

    OMG, I stoped at 2'. This is ridiculous. The skin of the zuchini and eggplant is the best part! It's where the taste is. You should make tempura of the skin, not the center part alone.

      Thank God we have a more knowledgeable, more experienced, and better trained chef of impeccable taste to pour rain on the parade. You will, of course, share your great all-knowing wisdom with everyone by divulging your recipe, will you not? Clearly, there is but ONE WAY to prepare it and, fortunately, you know that singular way.

  • @Adol666

    Too heavy and everything looks soggy its supposed to be crisp. Oil was too cold. Wouldnt pay for this at a restaurant.

  • @NamedHerooo
    @NamedHerooo 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    This has nothing to do with tempura!!!
    Maybe is Taste good but real tempura has no egg in it. And the batter is mach more liquid.

    • @mothman-jz8ug
      @mothman-jz8ug 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Praise God for sending you to extol your culinary superiority. Surely you will now provide us with the SINGULAR METHOD AND INGREDIENTS - for which there are no possible substitutions or additions - so that us mortals can enjoy your perfect recipe. Everyone, give praise to NamedHerooo for his much needed enlightenment!

    This is not tempura. Not only is it too thick, but it also has salt and pepper. Tempura batter is unseasoned.

    • @mothman-jz8ug
      @mothman-jz8ug 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Right - which results in the normally bland taste which requires salt added AFTER cooking which, as anyone can tell you, is never as tasty as food with salt infused at prep. Those lacking the good sense to put salt in could improve their product greatly if they followed Henry's lead, wouldn't they?
