      Curry could be interesting, because it's usually done with the pre-packaged bouillon cubes, so seeing a healthier take on it could make for a fine video, I think.

    I’m amazed more cooking channels don’t have the chef sit down and enjoy their creations afterwards. Though I’ll admit, I’m ludicrously envious every time. The tempura looked like perfection mate!

      It is not recommended to use Baking Soda as a substitute for Potato starch or Cornstarch. Baking Soda is a leavening agent and has different chemical properties.

    I had never heard of ao jiso leaves before watching this--what kind of plant is it from? And what other recipes use them?

      I think you're referring to the Shiso leaves. It tastes like a mix of Mint, Basil, and Cilantro.

    Aojiso (Shisho) isn't to hard to find, it goes by different names in the west, its generally just referred to as a beefsteak plant. It grows in the wild all over the US.

    In Poland we use plenty of beetroots. We cook them in every possible way. Japanese people probably know russian borscht soup, which was loved by Poles back in XVII century so much, that beets was pickled in every house (yes, pickled beets are used in polish borscht till today). Most common usage of beets today in Poland is as salad called ćwikła - made from cooked grinded beets and horseradish.

    I don't understand the shrimp. How does it stay so straight? Is it the kind of shrimp? Every time I cook shrimp, no matter how I cook it, it just curls up. Am I missing something? I want nice, straight shrimp like I always see at restaurants and on TH-cam. How do I do that?

    Good shrimps tempura, less oil is healthy, deep frying is not healthy can cause elevated triglycerides.
