Great camera work and good instruction! I was able to change my fuel pump on my 1997 K1500 using yours and a few other videos. The hardest part was reattaching the fuel hoses at the tank. Not much room to maneuver! 26 years old at 276k (125k since I overhauled the engine.) Thank you!

Or you could loosen the bolts holding the right side of the bed on, remove the bolts holding the left side of the bed on and jack up the left side of the bed. This should give you access to the top of the tank. Maybe.

I made a little hatch for in the bed for my replacement. Easy to get to and minimal work needed to get the job done. It's my work truck anyways so it isn't the only battle scar she has

Also I’m putting a new female plug connector on , old one a little corrosion,
I cut off the 3 wires from the female connector & now can’t find the old one to match the 3 colored wires to reinstall the new female connector
(new connector came with 3 black wires)
Any help on getting the 3 wires correct?

Why not just lift the bed off the truck? It’s only 8 bolts and disconnect the tail lights....very easy. Although, you do need to remove the spare tire as well.

Already had it easy by having a lift. Why not unbolt the bed and lift it off the truck

I was surprised to see this pump in this truck. My dad's 99 GMC took the $400 white plastic module style that the new ones all take. A fuel delivery module.

    Wow!
It seems you could had removed the 8 bed bolts after lifting the truck.
Fasten the bed to something above and then lower the truck back down.
Yes there are the filler bolts, ground wire and the tail lights.
After the replacement, in theory, raise the truck back into place.
That is an idea I would like to see correctly achieved.
What do you guys, and gals, and non-gender... think. Plausible?
And while you have the bed off you could easily do.....

Do not do this job without replacing the rubber hose.
