Thank you so much for this explanation. my sons 2011 2.0 Mondeo has S Max Dephi injectors and after watching this I was able to strip things down enough to find that the clamp had a broken arm. Unfortunately the diesel return connector broke but I was able to remove the broken bits and replace the return line after watching your video. So nice to have someone explain things clearly and without fuss, unlike some videos where the presenters think they have to overact. top man...👋
Excellent video exactly explains the problem I have right now with a 2012 Ford galaxy. Mechanic told me the engine needed to come out in order to complete this job!
Just tried this job yesterday - same car cylinder 4. All going ok until getting the plastic overflow return pipe reconnected. Much faffing, couldn't get it to engage, broke it. New replacement on order. Double doh 😣 Update: New (genuine Ford) leak-off pipe fitted ok. Much easier to connect than the old one. Also I moved all the electrical cables out of the way to easy the replacement. All working well now.

Jimmy Thanks for great content in this video. However the issue I’m having is with a 13 plate mondeo (same engine) the issue is that number two injector clamp is broken. Is there a certain way to connect them to the injector and how tight does the clamp need to be in place? Thanks
There is a plastic collar missing, this fits around the neck of the injector and keeps it centered in the Head so that the injector clamps evenly, this repair will leak again without this
When ever ive done this i use a hoover and small tube to suck out any debris and cheap endoscope on my phone to have quick look down inside plus are these not stretch bolts if so should they not be replaced
That is the exact issue I have right now 1st injector trying to get quotes to get it done so I can get an mot I would do this myself but I need to get the tools first which are not that cheap other than cheap looking ones and if I mess it up then I have spent the money for the repair on the tools already maybe I should see if the injector will come out first
Really wish i was closer to Bedfordshire! My kuga 2009, 2.0 tdci is being a cow! Im told an injector is at fault, engine malfunction and esp light on every start up. When it does start, sometimes 7 times!! hesitation, enging slightly shaky. ive taken off the egr and cleaned. installed a new throttle pedal. still no joy. Then to be told an injector was at fault. He unplugged each injector when the car was idling, engine stuttered on every one except injector 2. when i repeated the following day, the engine stuutered on all of them. Is it possible the injectors need pulling and cleaning? Thanks O'Riley!!
So I took mine apart and now I can’t get the leak off pipe back in injector number 1 how do they go back in it just won’t go past the round green ring that the clips pushes into

Similar here - 2011 S MAX - had trouble reconnecting leak off connectors, and broke 2. New leak off assembly on order.

Had the same problem replaced the seals primed the fuel still not starting any ideas??

you don't really need all these tools... they just make work easier, but you can do without just fine.
so do you not need to replace all the seals just the copper ones

Always use an additive in da tank , also when pulling off wires from injectors it can also need programming, Jimmy is da best u guys have 👌

Did you sort it eventually? I had the same problem as you on our 2011 SMAX. I broke 2 x connectors on the leak off pipe. New one ordered....
