Thanks for your video. I had a Ford 2.0 car and had the same problem. Ford dealer quoted me AUD $4800. But i went to my mechanic and could not fix it for 2 times. But i checked videos and fixed the blocked vaporiser myself and fixed the problem with using the launch scanner. Thanks a lot.
Another captivating video Jimmy!! Your becoming something of a hero in the DPF cleaning world hear in Somerset. I thought I had better purchase all the gear to complete the job, just in case my transit custom throws a dpf wobbly. The mechanic I go to is brilliant, but he would admit to having little knowledge regarding DPF cleaning. "Thanks Mate"😄👍
It’s amazing how many people out there have no idea how this system works! Good work mate as Being Ford Trained I was doing this back in 2016. MC4 Autos Ford Specialist.
I've just had a nightmare couple of weeks with a recurring DPF fault (with a near 1000 mile-round journey in the middle) where the vaporiser plug was replaced with a new one and at a separate garage, the DFP had a force regen. Still the engine malfunction error popped up (car went into limp mode before DPF regen also). Weirdly the odometer settings display isn't working properly since (showing dashes instead of, for example, the miles till empty figures) and a service oil error has appeared even though the car has had 2 oil changes since we've had the car (we've done about 30,000 miles). At wits end but there's a specialist DPF centre I'm probably going to take the car to in the next week or so.
Would a forced regen work as well as putting the additive cleaner in? I changed the vapouriser on my 2.2 s-max over a year ago and got away with just doing a forced regen without any cleaner
Forced regenerations can work altough It's much safer to clean it. Not just safer for the DPF but also the engine. Cleaning also just flushes the soot out instead of creating Ash from a forced regen. Regens also damage the oil
Jimmy love your vids. Need some advice. Got focus 2.0 D 2016. code says soot build up so. recently had a DPF clean/flush. DPF pressure senor replaced and DPF wirering fixed (known issue on these ST Diesel models apparently). so was all good until 1 week ago. now codes come back even when cleared come straight back on again. im thinking vaporizer and / or EGR value maybe. DPF shouldnt be blocked that much as was cleaned and repairs done Jan/Feb 2023. any advise. sorry for asking on here - #shouldhavegotapetrol
Hi Jimmy, I had a clean and new vaporizer fitted but DPF_SOOT_LD is stuck at 300%. Car is doing constant regen. Is an ECU software update required? Cheers.
hi, i have kia karns 2017 with dpf . for along time i have error 'check exhaust system' and the check engine light is on. the code is p2003(00) : particulate trap, bank 2 - officiency below threshold. i was in few gars and they made computer regine but its not help. its sent to outside clean olso dont help. the car with 150,000 km. one gars offer to replace the dpf with new one. another offer to delete the dpf. one gars said that there is problem with disel system. do you have any idea?
My son in-law has a 2011 renault 1.5 dci with the engine light on it's been too 5 different places and the light keeps coming back I am trying to find out what is going on with it but the distance is a problem I know that the signal voltage at idle is 0.49 and at 2500 it goes to 0.60 I don't think that it is right from the videos I have seen. Your opinion would be appreciated..thanks
I have a 2L ford smax ,had a new DPF and a service and its still saying diesel filter overloaded ,and its gone into limp mode ,for some reason my car doesnt have a vapouriser its an 09 plate ,and ideas what could be causing this ?
Hi mate we have a kuga 2013 2.0 diesel in garage dpf has been cleaned and pressure are as new 0 milbar at idle but the lights wont reset . We have autul . And reset everything we can think of soot content is back at zero but wont clear the light . Any ideas
@@KevinTaylor-cx2okyes when soot content hits 300 percent its locks out the ecu from being reset . The car had to go to ford and a soft ware reset from dealer online this was done . When it gets that clogged noting will reset it . we had new injector in exhaust and new dpf filter still in limp mode
@@KevinTaylor-cx2ok. I spent one week in the garage trying all my tricks to reset the ecu. Batterys disconnect. Complete air fuel reset . All data reset . . Even put new dpf pressure sensor . Nothing worked. Go into soot content if its at 300 percent the ecu is locked out . Iv read this on line on ford forum . Asked my local ford dealer they hadnt got a clue and i said i want a soft ware up date and they said never came across it and did . It and worked . Make sure the injector is not clogged up and dpf is clean . Most cars when you clean dpf the calculated soot content will drop on test drive when the ecu sees the low pressure reading the ford did not move on test run hopefully you dont waste a week like i did

Yes unbelievable mate. I've been changing these as long as I can remember many years
Great professional job well done 👍
Great video saved my £600. Thank you

Got it fixed?
What years does this apply to?
I think that the code p253f come back after a few mileages ? what we shoud do ?

How much charge dpf open?
Are you recommending the Launch fluid over the Waynns off car fluid now days?
Will either unblock an SMax DPF that is on 300%?
Cheers
Yes but you'd need to fix why its blocked first

The 300% is a calculation, as long as you've cleaned the dpf well enough you then need to reset the adaptions

Hi jimmy, are all Ford vapourers the same size ( part number ) and are Peugeot vapourers the same as Ford Transits.
Cheers Mark.
There not all the same unfortunately

No idea without physically checking it
How much u charge
Can u put up link for tool to test vapouriser
Google Mityvac
What’s does 😮the vapourizers do , cheers
Sends fuel vapour to the dpf to to burn the soot off

What about the code for the oil?
Sorry I forgot to mention he declined oil change and said he's doing it himself when he gets home
do people ever complain about you reving up the engine like scotty says you should ?
Ford's seem to have the most dpf issues.. Would you say this is the case? Can't remember having seen a volkswagen on this channel
Volkswagen was my most common dpf repair. I think I've just earned a reputation as a ford dpf specialist so I see a lot
The kids reference 🤣🤣
