Am I the only one sketched out when the lower control arms look like they're about to slide off the wooden block? Good info tho, I just bought the same CPP kit, but they didn't include instructions on mine, so this video was a huge help for me! keep up the good work!

Very nicely done and it looks much better than new !! Great idea using the "dead man" to the ceiling. Just finished the same process on my 57 210 Sport Coupe. Need to compress the springs on the 57 since the lower A Frame is almost vertical when the relaxed spring goes in and I have a high "pitched" ceiling.

My oldest brother had a 69 Goat when I was in high school. The Goat had the 400cid (6.6L) with Auto trans, with the tick tock tach on the double ram functional hood and the Big Rubber front bumper with the vacuum head lite door's the posi rear end 4:11 gears. Black buckets black GTO interior with the full gauge option. The color was a light metallic blue from the factory. The only thing that I have left from my brother's GTO is the Hurst His/Her's auto floor shifter. I wanted that Goat so much but my brother sold it to a friend of mine that graduated with me Eddy let the Goat set for many years at his folks before he sold it. The two men that bought the Goat walk away very happy indeed... I always wanted to own one when they were not so much $$$$ but now it's impossible for me they cost way too much to own now $$$$...

Hey quick question. Where are you finding all the torque specs for the crossmember to frame rail bolts? I have the shop manual for my 63 and it only specs the “crossmember to frame” at 60-80 lbs. it does not say for the crossmember to lower frame rail. Do you know where more detailed diagrams and specs can be found? What did you use for torque on crossmember to lower frame rail? I also have the factory assembly manual but it dosent show. Help?! Edit: I should clarify 60-80 lbs is crossmember to side of frame, the lower frame rail I believe is higher? I bought all new grade 8 and installed yesterday.

I put an 86 C10 k-member and disc brakes on my 67. Oh and I’ll never put springs in one of those trucks ever again. Pain in the butt

Great video man! Glad to see you decided to go with the disc brake conversion. I'm doing the same thing to my 66 F-250. How did you get everything so clean and what kind of paint are you using? Nice work!!

Great channel and great job on your projects. Did you happen to take measurements of your frame to the ground for the front end before you installed the drop spindles and new springs (like you did for the rear drop)?

    • @Gibson63.

Yes did take measurements before I started wrote them on the wall somewhere in the garage lol ..thanks for watching

@@Gibson63. That's great! Hey if you ever get a second, and you can find it on the wall again, I would really appreciate the measurement. I forgot to take those measurements before I blew apart my '61 and now I'm at a crossroads with putting back together. No worries is you don't have the time. Thanks again for the videos.

Did you use the original control arms and how difficult was it to remove the control arm bushing?

    • @Gibson63.

Jim Miranda I order 2 new lower Control arms because the original ones were cracked and rusted through, The upper control arm bushings were pretty easy to take out with some help on a vice and a good ratchet

Go into any Auto Parts Store or go On Line look for the year you need get the Chevrolet Chilton's Repaire Manual. I have one from back in the day (35+ years ago) it's the Chevrolet Truck 64-74 Chilton's Repair Manual. I believe I've seen some at Advance Auto Parts Store but not sure what year they have now? Hope this helps even though it's late it may help other young Wrencher's 🔧

I know this one goes back awhile, but do you remember where you got your brake lines? I am doing the same set up. Manual disc/drum. No booster. I called In-line Tube and they have brake line kits for power disc or manual drum with dual M/C. Still searching but figured I would ask just in case.

@@Gibson63. I think I looked there too. I may end up getting the kit for disc conversion that is used for power brakes and hope there is enough slack in the coils in the lines for the MC that I can re bend them to fit. Thanks for getting back again to my questions.
