I just bought a '60 C10 project and your vids are very helpful. No blah, blah, blah....you just tell us what you're going to do and then "lets get started". Good job.
IT'S ALIVE! BWWWAAAAAAAAHHAAAHHAAAA. Always feels good to get an old comfortable friend running again. Gibs, I really LOVE your videos. You always make me want to run right out and get going on my own old Chevy truck. Maybe I'll get to see one of your projects and a truck show here in TN this summer. I hope I hope. If you're anything like I am, just getting everything cleaned, wire brushed, painted and looking better, motivates me to keep working on it. Who doesn't like working on a clean, good looking vehicle?
Cool ride, great job. Just be careful blowing that brake dust around, remember old cars had asbestos brake linings, don't want to breath that stuff in.
I had a well used 1966 long bed fleetside that had I want to call swing arm axle support. What was that design really called, I remember it gave a really smooth ride.
Thanks for all the great videos. I've enjoyed watching your trucks come together. Just be careful using the air nozzle on the brake shoes... makes all that nasty stuff airborne and not good to breathe that stuff in. You've got some sheet metal skills and I've learned a bit from watching. Thanks!
I worked as a mechanic in the 70 s at Fords in the UK , we were stopped blowing out brakes ,due to the asbestos dust causing cancer , we had to brush out with Methylated Spirits or Ethanol alcohol.
Have you ever tried candling the stuck bolts? Get the nut hot and put a candle on it and let it soak in to the threads and it should come off much easier. Maybe you already know his but just in case you didn't.
@gibson63 Hey, I came across your channel this morning...watched a lot of your videos. Nice work! I have a '77 Chevy currently in the works. On the Eastwood products, how many aerosol cans does it take to coat the frame? I see you used the gallon liquid as well...does 1 gallon coat the frame pretty good? Also are you in B*******, TN? If so, I'm in the area and could get some knowledge from you about restoration.
What would one pay for a vehicle in this condition? I am looking at a 66 long bed that the owner claimed ran before he pulled the tank and carb to mount an external fuel tank. It has an inline 6 but I already have a 66’ 283 short block rebuilt ready to go. I don’t think it is as rusted out as this blue one you are working on. The guy is asking 4800 I think it’s a bit too much the tail gate looks like it needs a new one.
He said in another video that different years have the mount in different locations. Do to the year his mount should have been further down the axle tube on it's own mount.
Gibson63 Ohhh I figured that much. Who wouldn’t want that red one?! Just thought maybe he saw an opportunity to get his hands on the blue one a lot sooner.
I like your videos, not a lot of blah blah blah, very well explained. I’m starting my first c 10 rust free except surface rust on the frame. I noticed one video you power washed the frame for rust and another use a wire wheel. Do you recommend both methods
Bonded brake shoes Suck.1 good reason Rear Brake shoes tend to get hot they crack when they crack the ribbits hold them in place. The bonded glue once the shoes stark cracking they shift. Then they fall apart then its metal to metal.Brakes should be looked at if you drive your truck for then a every weekend truck 2-3 years you drive it every day and pull trailers or haul stuff every year
I’m starting a 1963 C30 stake bed restoration and have just found your videos. You are my new best friend.
Instablaster

Thomas Cahill Thanks man I’ll Remember that tip
I can’t believe you were actually able to use hand tools to take it apart. The only tool that worked on mine was a grinder.
Let's keep it simple, I like what you do......thanks for the videos..😁😁
Awesome. I got an extra front bumper. Chrome. Little beat up. And a whole extra front suspension from a 66. If you ever get to North Carolina.
MrHevyshevy that’s man I am looking for a rear bumper to match the front.
Gibson63 I’ve got one similar to yours. It’s nice. Little rusty. No holes. Yours is cooler tho. I saw the place it was bought from on it. That’s cool.
Cheers my friend and Happy Mothers day to you. Where's my little red truck at ? :)

Awesome work as always.
Looks like yall going to be riding soon.
New subscriber. Love your videos and you do great work.
goforthlp Thanks
Getting in the short rows. Have you thought about keeping that stovebolt and even hotrodding it some.
Eric Corse still debating on the motor situation
Well what ever you choose it will be fun to drive.
Have you ever tried candling the stuck bolts? Get the nut hot and put a candle on it and let it soak in to the threads and it should come off much easier. Maybe you already know his but just in case you didn't.
looking good.
An 6.0 would look good in that compartment.

I'm located in Southaven- do you do any paint/body work on the side?
No I don’t I’m in to construction work
Great work and thanks for the videos. Did you only use rust encapsulator or did you paint the frame with something else?
Looking good
Motor runs good, I think you should turbo it lol
good job!
Are the truck arm rear ends not supposed to have a panhandler bar
He said in another video that different years have the mount in different locations. Do to the year his mount should have been further down the axle tube on it's own mount.
Love the sound of that six. Has your son staked his claim on this truck yet?
Ronster 66 No he hasn’t but he has staked his claim on my red 63
Gibson63 Ohhh I figured that much. Who wouldn’t want that red one?! Just thought maybe he saw an opportunity to get his hands on the blue one a lot sooner.

Tom Carusone Yes I would recommend both for a clean smooth finish
Nice 👌
I’ll buy it ...!! If it’s for Sale?
TheRooster1122 It just might be we’ll see
Gibson63 Just let me know? I’m interested really! 2nd would be the $$$$
What paints did you use on the frame/rear end?
Robert Boyero Eastwood rust encapsulator and chassis black paint
Thanks, sorry man, I missed it in the video.
Keep the 6 in it!!!!!!
best thing I ever did was put a v8 in my '53 - would never want a 6 again, had several.
That motor is 77 or newer. It should be orange up to 1976.
nice
cool

If you put a pan under the brakes and wash with soap and water you don't have to breathe all that dust
Good tip man
Riveted lining is better than glue lining, Just sayin.
I want to be your neighbor! I need serious help with my 1966 C10 stepside.
You shouldn't blow brakes of old vehicles. They are likely made with asbestos.
