    I think a lot of people are still missing the point of the "All in" diet which is basically eating intuitively. People are still attached to "she still looks good" or "well, she's not that fat just a little thicc". No, it's not about your appearance, it's about allowing your body to be at it's natural weight. This does not take into account societal weight standards. So please, if you're still trying to compare yourself to her--don't. Your weight will be different from hers. The point is to not restrict yourself and to have a good relationship with food. Eat when you're hungry. It's a simple concept, but I promise you, it'll make food so much more enjoyable.

      Food should be about nutrition not enjoyment. Thats one thing i dislike about western society. There are many things to do for joy. Our bodies will always want to have and hold on to weight but modern society doesnt need fat on our bodies to survive impending periods of famine.

Ive been yo-yoing between 85-105lb for the last 10 ish years.. depression, anxiety, stress.. and just living with really bad eating(or lack thereof) habits and bad sleeping. I'm trying to appreciate the weight gain but it's definitely fat.. and my clothes/bras not fitting much, especially during my cycle bc I expand every where.. especially my chest. It's extremely noticable how unwell my wardrobe sits on me. .. #OnlySocks/Panties fit. I'm just trying to level out and eat more consistently.

    I've never watched one of your videos until like 20 minutes ago. I saw your dear 2019: the year I gained weight video and then this one. I just want to say that I think you look absolutely amazing right now, especially compared to back then. I'm one of those people who has been skinny my whole life, and when I joined a workout challenge program to cut 5% of my body fat, I got muscular and was even thinner, but I realized that I was just too skinny. So I too am trying to put on some weight while gaining muscle and I love that you're doing the same thing. Just like I think I look better with a little more weight, I think you do too. You are absolutely stunning at the weight that you're out now and you look so much healthier than those videos you showed small clips of. If I saw those videos before I honestly would have thought twice about watching, but seeing you are on a similar path as me and that you are looking to be happy and healthy while looking good, that makes me want to watch more videos that you have. I know I wasn't there for any of your stuff before your all in journey (because I didn't know about you), but I'm all in for supporting you and watching you achieve your goals with this new lifestyle. Women have lots of body changes in their life. Fertility for women means carrying more fat than men, obviously, so hormones and anatomy predispose us to change from puberty to middle age.
    We are built to nourish and deliver babies. Yet, it's also women who shoulder a lot of body and beauty social expectations and end up dieting and seesawing. You're constantly told what we should look like no matter if we just had a kid or of we need to rest and focus on other aspects of our life.
    Many women experience weight fluctuations and even different weight distribution according to age and other factors. I've found it's healthy and wise to accept your body throughout your life, not just when you're at the lowest weight or the most young and perky. That will change but with the changes comes beautiful things like children and rest and relationships. Life isn't about how you look, I'm all for health and yes, you can form your body too! but accept the aging process and all that life brings that may make your body look different. ❤️

    • @lgeiger
      @lgeiger 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I have never understood why people think only women are confronted with beauty standards. A lot of men in Hollywood movies look like bodybuilders and pretend to be natural while a lot of them obviously took some sort of anabolic substances. Best example: Dwayne Johnson. Only a fool would think he's natural. And Christian Bale when he went from extremely skinny 55 kg in The Machinist to 90 kg Batman in 6 months? Ridiculous!
      And it's the same with all other male Fitness TH-camrs. In fact, us men are rarely able to tell if a person takes steroids or not unless it's really obvious. They can claim whatever the hell they want. We can believe them or not. In the end everything that counts is our own goals. And that is the actual difference between most men and most women. Most women care too much about what other people think about them. Only very few have enough of that "I don't give a fuck"-attitude.

So how do we just grow into dismissing it when it is part of what we are taught from being children?
      The issue is so much bigger than making it about personal responsibility and I would say this comment is part of the perception problem around negative body-image and how it is created. Especially since we do not need opinions: there's decades worth of research done on this! Men and women do not internalize societal ideals on beauty to the same degree, it affects women more and that's why it fuels various appearance-based billion dollar industries aimed at "helping" women improve their looks.

Finally, said "i want to eat" let myself eat whatever I wanted, gained weight, cried because I was gaining weight, but wanted to eat. I wanted more food! It's hard to see your body bigger and wider. Oana I agree but you can't write off all skinny people as unrealistic. I know people who can't eat this much and work out just as hard and are very fit and healthy and don't get hungry eating fewer calories. Everyone is just different and Steph just craves more food but still feels good and looks great. I just wouldn't go so far to say people who are thinner are unrealistic. I mean I'm 6'3" 185lbs and I eat less than steph and still feel fine every day. I have a very low body fat percentage but for my sport it's very important to be lean and I don't mind sustaining the diet and training needed to achieve that. Everyone is just different and should do whatever works for them to feel they comfortable in their body

    • @corey_massey
      @corey_massey 5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @Oana
      This is one of.....if not the biggest problems within the fitness industry.....so many people are after the shredded look but don't realize that building muscle requires you to get thicker. The actual science behind bodybuilding and weight training is about balancing big muscles with healthy fat composition. It's about eating to build muscle then dieting to shred away EXCESS fat. The keyword being "excess". It is unhealthy or borderline unhealthy to be sub 10% body fat, and many scientists argue that the ideal range for women is 15- 20%. Less than that and your hormones will revolt against you.
      This is why, at least with classic physique and body building competitors they are not walking around show ready 24/7 365. Since they are athletes, most natural bodybuilding and physique competitors will bulk up to build muscle within a healthy range of body fat then diet down to within a healthy range of body fat to keep the aesthetic look of fitness. When its showtime, then they will take those extreme steps to get to contest weight and body fat percentage. But right after......they immediately go back to the healthy range. If you never plan on stepping onto a competition stage, then you should never aim to get lower than the healthy range of body fat. And if you want big glutes and quads (which seems to be the trend these says), you have to realistically expect that you are going to thicker than the super shredded competition ready athlete. The key is all about balance and I'd argue that both extremes (low body fat and high body fat) are unhealthy lifestyles.

      The point I was making is that aesthetic appearance is not the same as Health and overall fitness. This discussion needs to be had with the fitness community. The way a person looks is not a good indicator of that persons health and overall fitness. I think the point that was being made here is not specifically about aesthetic appearance but more the health factor. It is important to understand that there is a distinct difference between looking "skinny" and being at an abnormally low body fat percentage. People often confuse the two as the same thing, but that is untrue.
      From a health perspective, a sustained low body fat percentage can lead to massive hormonal imbalances, eating disorders, organ failure among many other negative side effects. This is different than looking "skinny" which is simply that your body weight is proportioned well for your height. Understanding that "skinny" does not necessarily mean healthy is important because it takes the goal off being "skinny" at all cost and replaces it with being at a healthy body fat percentage for your height and weight. I hope that makes sense.

Man, it was so painful! One day, I was sitting on the bus (on my way to group therapy for EDs, somewhat ironically) and my period came in like a tsunami. Like. All over the seat. I had to get out immediately and walk home 20 minutes in the rain with my jacket around my waist to hide the evidence. Fun times, but I'm doing better now! @@CremedelaCreme777 it was intentional. She went "all in" which means eating until satiation or until you're completely full. She was having issues with being very very hungry so she decided to just eat whatever she wants and gain weight to make her feel better. Theres a few videos about it on her channel you can check out!

      Cassandra Celestin stephanie uploaded an explanation video for the "all in" diet. basically she got sick bc of her extremely low body fat percentage (she used to compete in bikini contests and after she stopped w that she did bodybuilding, fitness etc on her yt channel. which is why she was obsessed w lowering the body fat in the first place) and now she fixed a lot of issues by going back to a healthy body fat percentage

    THIS is body positivity! Thank you for sharing your entire journey, and I cannot stress enough how much I admire your courage. I know it must have taken you a lot to choose this path - weight gain is just the surface but it’s essentially saying “goodbye” to a big part of your identity to make room for a healthier you. And THAT is hard. But the new you is just as wonderful, if not more full of life than the old one! You look amazing :)

In reality, women in strength training come in ALL shapes and sizes and we can all be beautiful at any size..and more importantly, STRONG. Thank you for being vulnerable with us!

    I SO SO SO appreciate this video series. You look amazing and it's so inspiring to see your mood in these videos (the highs and the lows). I am also on my own iteration of a bulking phase for the first time ever and this video series is healing for me. Seriously. Thank you so much. I really appreciate you, you doing this, and you being so transparent and amazing about it all. It's so kind and generous. It's healing for me to watch, and I'm sure so many other men and women. Thank you times a million.

    Hi Stephanie - I just found your channel and it has been so enlightening and healing. My ex was extremely emotionally abusive and projected all his body insecurities onto me. I started restricting food, fell back into an ED, started back over-exercising and counting calories, cut out all dairy, bread, and goodness, and then ended up with Extreme Hunger without even knowing it. I didn't go "All In" mentally, but I was so hungry I couldn't stop myself from binging, purging, and doing it all over again. I gained 40 pounds in total across several months of being literally unable to control myself, and am just now starting to ease back down to my normal range with intuitive eating (I'm 20 lbs down now, plus another whole 180lb down after losing the ex 😂). Watching your channel and journey has been so healing. Seeing what an extra 30lbs looks like on you is also so helpful. Knowing I had gained 30-40 lbs made me feel terrible and bloated, but looking at you I realize that isn't so much weight at all. You still looked hot and fabulous here, and most importantly, you were healthy and thriving! I think we feel so bad about this stuff because no one talks about it openly - we don't even know what a 30 lb weight fluctuation actually looks like on someone else (or I didn't, at least). A supportive partner seems like a key difference too. Thank you for your bravery in documenting this journey. You have a beautiful soul and it shines through.

    I just found your channel, I love that you’re going all in! I haven’t followed any training vlogs in a while. I’ve been in recovery for an eating disorder a few times in the past but I’ve been recovered for over 2 years now. I’m so excited that you’re doing this publicly because I did it on my own and it was hard! I also was in a hospital program that was so helpful. I actually stopped all activity for months, except for light walking. That was really hard. I don’t lift anymore because I realized that balance is hard for me in the gym but I’ve continued some light activity like swimming, cycling, hiking. At times I’ve used resistance bands and more advanced yoga at times. I’m just enjoying life outside of tracking macros, my weight and training and I honestly don’t miss it anymore (I did at first)! I just wanted to say that set point theory is so true, I’m living proof! I was so afraid that I would keep growing but I eventually did plateau and settled at a comfortable weight. It took a while! And I’m so glad that my extreme hunger is gone and it’s so nice to not be preoccupied with food anymore and not feel like I have to stop eating before feeling satisfied. Bodies are wonderful! Thank you for being so honest and open!

    I never understood what she's talking about when she mentions how self conscious she is about her weight gain bc im like uhm girl you look so good what the heck are you even talking about like ya you gained a little bit of weight but the thicc-ness is sooo sexy AND you look fit unlike me whos smaller but has so much excess fat just hanging around and im not toned what so ever. But in this vid when she cuts from her physique now to older videos with her lean physique back then i was like oohhhh I FINALLY get it. It is a big difference not that any of us care or see it the way she does cause she just looks hot either way and it's like two different types of hot but equally HOT nonetheless. But i think it's so personal when it's your body bc you have a self image and when your body changes like that it's almost like a dysmorphia feeling bc your brain cant quite reconcile the you now vs the version of you it has stored up there and kinda almost rejects the new person and that's why she feels so bad about herself when we're here like "damn look at that body" either way

    You look better than ever!! And you seem so happy and full of life...like Meg Squats says, the way you look is the least interesting thing about you. It's great to see you push through the fear that holds so many people back...because it's important to remember we are all impermanent....our bodies come...and then they go...we will all grow old...holding onto a certain appearance because of pressure to look that way causes a lot of unhappiness...like when we were children, we didn't sit and analyze how much body fat we had or if we looked bloated a certain day....we just enjoyed life and ate ice cream when we felt like it! There is something to be said for relaxing our grip on the "fitspo" lifestyle to make a life that is really worth living and is enjoyable in all aspects. Mentally, spiritually and physically.
