      Her functioning wasn't great when she had to digest an inhuman quantity of food a day
      She said she had puffy ankles and knees
      At 30 yo?
      I mean that's a problem for over 60 yo ladies
      Nobody with a normal health gets swollen everywhere with water retention before a certain age
      That's an health issue
      A circulation one
      And surely a sign she wasn't doing something healthy
      Ofc it didn't show up in her exams
      The body can endure for bad conditions for a while
      Rising the temperature to consume more, etc, it's signs the body is struggling to digest, thinks there is too much food being put in it and tries to cope
      Ofc it can for a while without bad consequences, but that doesn't mean it's healthy to overeat so much every day for 6 months
      I mean if you smoke only one cigarette you won't get copd from it, but that doesn't make smoking healthy
      If you drink a drop of bleach you won't die, but that doesn't mean drinking bleach is fine
      If you eat 5k a day for a year, your bloodwork will most likely still be normal, but that doesn't mean it's healthy to do so
      She could have eaten more for a while without going so extreme, that would have been healthy

      When I got cancer, I gained so much weight. At first, I lost 5kg because of surgery and treatment, but then I gained 10 kg in remission. Apparently, this is what your body does when it is recovering from illness. And it's crucial to be as fit and exercise as much as possible because it improves your ability to withstand treatment and remain in remission.

      @@ttttg5302Just saw this now. No offense, but I think you missed the point. Here I mean functionality is more important than aesthetic views in the diet culture. And you have to put mental health into consideration as well. I had eating disorders which led to Amenorrhea. And I got it back by adjust my mindset which led to eating more. I’m saying eating A LOT necessarily. But I did eat more and stop doing intense exercise. I gained weight but I found my period back after losing it for 12 years ☺️ And I feel so much healthier now.
      To sum up, I want to point out it’s not as simple seeing the numbers or changes in appearance. It’s a mental game that only the person in the process will know what’s he/she needs❤

    I feel that majority of people who criticized your “All in” journey have an underlying bad relationship with food, body image, or fear of obesity. But that’s their personal issue and shouldn’t imply it to others. So proud of you and your achievement to body acceptance and being the true meaning of health 💛

      No offense but people should be afraid of obesity. It raises the chances of many illnesses so fucking much. Being obese is basically saying I'm okay with dying early because I wanna eat junk.

      L L it’s totally understandable why you would think this! We have been conditioned as a society to fear weight gain. However if you look at the research, there are a number of problems with judging health by weight (and the terms overweight/obese). For one, the cut off for obesity were established simply based on the fact that a BMI of 30kg/m^2 was a round number and sounded good - not exactly scientifically sound! And then taking into consideration that at older ages we (health professionals) actually recommend for people to be at a weight that would previously have classified them as overweight indicates that carrying some extra weight can actually be protective.
      There’s a lot of other evidence but just to address your comment that “being obese raises the chances of many illnesses so fucking much” - this in itself is not true. Research shows that when we control for lifestyle factors (i.e. eating a certain number of serves of vegetables/day, walking a certain amount/week etc.), weight does not actually contribute in a clinically significant way to increased risk of developing OR dying from most chronic illnesses.
      The takeaway is essentially - if we have healthy behaviours, it doesn’t matter what weight we are :) If you are interested in reading some research papers let me know! More than happy to link them ❤️

      Jeff Erickson haha right but I believe she was referring to how people often judge others’ health based on how their body appears (visual weight) instead of how well their body is functioning overall... like how one doesn’t “look healthy” because they weigh more than the average person/BMI/whatever their reference point is. I agree that as a society we should try to shift that focus to health as a multi-faceted, function based measurement

      The motivation to diet is often an effort to manipulate how we are perceived by others... Can we then blame those same people for perceiving us when we're not at our best..? Do you see what a slippery slope this is..? The hand putting food in your mouth..is yours..bless you..

      Jeff Erickson this is exactly what I’m talking about. Because society is obsessed with how bodies physically look and ideally look slim.. we should shift the focus improving overall internal health (food, exercise, sleep) rather than “approval” from others simply on an external basis (if you eat less you’ll weigh less mentality) It is a societal problem but that doesn’t mean it can’t be changed.

    people don’t understand that she didn’t focus on weight gain , her goal was to increase leptin levels and fix those hunger levels , and it’s clearly worked and showed so many benefits. she looks amazingggg

      gabby morretti.. The hipocracy of this channel has no bounds... All I hear is how shallow everyone is for judging people for their weight or looks..Not being skinny enough... Miss buttermore has a total relapse.. Sets a terrible example with her food choices... gaines 40 lbs.. And all I hear is how beautiful she is and how good she looks.. Are you not judging her by her looks and assessing her health by her looks... The very thing that you are criticizing everyone else about..?🙄🙄
      Never mind that carbs and sugar by far cause the most damage in the body
      are addictive and are the bain of all dieters ...unbelievable..😳😳😳

      6fiddy Her current weight is only 28lbs over her weight prior to her going “all in” and she is very much healthy. Going all in wasn’t just her wanting to gain weight for the sake of it (although even if it was her bmi and vitals were still healthy at her peak weight gain of 40lbs) but because of her thrown off leptin/ hunger levels and amenorrhea which is an extremely serious problem for women.
      Obviously going “all in” isn’t something that everybody should be doing but is something _she_ had to do to restore _her_ deteriorating health. I do see how people commenting on how good her body looks can be hypocritical, though.

      @@lisaisa I never had a problem with her gaining weight.. Overall health should always be the goal.. However her methodology is ridiculous and sets a terrible example for struggling dieters.. Akin to bringing a 12 pack to an AA meeting..😳.. Her food choices in fact are not choices.. Simply acting out carb and sugar addiction.. She could have easily gained some weight back in a responsible way Instead of displaying this out of control behavior spun as..ALL IN.. Miss Buttmore is an influencer whether she likes it or not and a certain amount of responsibility goes with that.. Displaying poor eating choices is never a great idea..

      Yea, gaining weight by eating crap food all the time with loads of sugar is for sure very healthy ! She could have fixed her Leptin level also by eating the right foods and in the right amount. She gained so much weight over such a short amount of time, and people still consider this as being healthy ? c'mon guys, don't fool yourself. She wanted to stuff food into her face, without any regrets, and claimed to know what she was doing. This is the type of advice people DONT need. It's okay how she looks now, but it doesn't mean that it was healthy to get there. And i won't be suprised if she's doing a proper diet now in secrecy.

This was recommended to her by an actual Phd holder who literally specializes in and does research in this specific area particularly in the area of lost period which she was dealing with. Idk if sis will admit it, but she had an eating disorder. This was how what was recommended to her to combat that issue and it did exactly that. But no you random internet person has decided that you know better. You are her doctor and know all about her health. You also specialize in eating disorders and eating disorder recovery.
      I mean you claim that you don't care about weight gain, but clearly you do. Because you sit here and say bullshit statements about how her behavior was "out of control" and as an influencer she had to be "responsible" and shouldn't display "poor" eating choices. But that was exactly what she was doing when she was passing off an eating disorder as fitness. But now y'all have so much to say about her weight gain. You want to talk about hypocrisy, let's start there. I mean what actual health issues did she suffer from gaining all this weight "so fast"? I mean that's center of your argument.       true but also not true...being lean and weight loss is about calorie deficit. now if we are speaking about bikini comps or bodybuilders then thats a whole diff level. at the end of the day she also was not 100% happy in that lifestyle. bc being lean is a lifestyle, not just being skinny. you can blame hormones but at the end of the day its calorie deficit (not even macros are relevant unless you are doing a body recomp or lean bulk)

      Educated individuals can be misinformed, misguided, and wrong. Throughout history brilliant innovators have been wrong in many of their beliefs. Going all in by eating sugar and processed foods & seed oil, all inflammatory cannot be healthy. You can go all in with wholesome foods.

      Finally Love Me she did actually try eating a majority of whole foods at the beginning of her All-In, but her body had trouble processing that much fibre.
      That being said, obviously once you’ve sated yourself on junk food the body will begin craving fresh foods and things that are healthier (my own experience)

      It’s crazy to think about it but it’s true. Some people function better with more meat while some function better with no meat at all. There is no one size fits all approach to feeling your best health wise yet people will act like there is.

      Yes, this! I pushed and pushed body into my lowest adult weight 2 years ago. People would make comments about how thin I'd gotten. I was freezing constantly. Like teeth chattering wearing a sweater in August in Atlanta. I was lifting weights 6 days a week. I had restless leg syndrome at night. I was obsessed with food, macros, and calories . It was extremely socially.isolating. I heavily restricted for 4 years. I'm done with diets.

      Damn Loretta honestly same, I felt that in my soul... I always look back to when I was "so fit" and how now I'm "so fat and out of shape" but when I was fit I was so unhappy, consumed by food and macros and calories in / calories out and working out till I literally felt like I was going to collapse.
      Now that I'm almost 1yr into recovery, I am heavier and of course have more body fat but I'm happier when I eat and I don't binge eat NEARLY as much as I used to and i am able to recognize that what I was doing to be "fit" in the past was extremely unsustainable and it was taking away my capacity to focus on anything else, even my favorite classes felt like too much because I couldn't stop obsessing over what I looked like. I am getting my bachelor's in human physiology and my classes showed me the importance of nourishing your body and the detrimental effects that happen when you don't respect your body.
      Recovery from disordered eating is SO DIFFICULT but we have to remember WHY we are recovering and WHY our previous behaviors were NOT sustainable.

      This was so true for me. When I was over exercising and under fueling throughout college, I thought having visible abs and muscles meant I was healthy- I didn't even think to associate my other symptoms like regular nausea and light-headedness, exhaustion, loss of period, and near lack of appetite with my physique + its maintenance. But they couldn't have been more related. I was so unhealthy. Fortunately I have recovered in the years since, but the ideology around fitness/health=lean shredded physique still is ever present in the world. Glad Stephanie is talking about it!

      Slim Shady obese means you are so overweight that it’s hard to walk and have a HUGE amount of excess body fat. She doesn’t even have a double chin. Chill tf out.     I think a lot of people are skeptical because we forget this was a method to fix EXTREME hunger. Many people, including myself at times, who are overweight and chronic overeating (not due to extreme hunger) see your journey and get really confused and to be honest JEALOUS because we see ourselves as going ‘all in’ on a normal basis but only continue to gain instead of finding a ‘set point.’
    I think it’d be really helpful if you did a video on intuitive eating and how it works, how you separate true hunger from emotional eating or the habit of eating until your ‘full’ vs ‘satiated’

      Nailed it. this is what happened to me. Until I figured out WHY, I kept repeating the same damaging habit of weight gain, etc. It was more psychological than physical with me...I'd love to see her touch on this.

      She said you have to listen to when you get full. If you are “over eating” you are inherently eating past your fullness cues. Which she discussed all of that in the video.

    Hi Stephanie. I'm a younger viewer of yours (high school age) and I would like to share some things with you. First of all, I would like to express how extremely grateful I am to have come across you on TH-cam. At first, I was attracted to your cheat days, but I stayed for the fitness content and enjoyed following your journey. As of recent, you've inspired me to go on a little journey of my own and it was the best thing ever!
    Since elementary school, I'd had awful thoughts about my body. I was always taller and more developed than everyone else, and people made comments. I remember only bringing a small container of carrots or raspberries to lunch to try and starve myself. By the end of it, I was binging terribly. Keep in mind, this was only 5th grade! Eventually, my weight did balloon a lot. My mom and brother made side comments. My brother even called me "my 600 lb life." It was terrible. Come 7th grade, I wasn't much better. I'd tried every fad diet out there. I ignored my father, who had told me I was perfect the way I was because I simply thought he was lying. When I think about that time now, I regret never listening to him.
    A couple years later, I stumbled across your channel and saw your all-in journey. I was extremely happy for you but never thought to try something similar out myself. I was by no means underweight and I had still kept my period, but I was plagued with anxieties and terrible thoughts about my body and weight. I weighed myself multiple times a day. I'd sometimes go a day or two without eating only to binge right afterward. I was never overweight, but at my highest weight I'd be a couple pounds shy of it. It was an extremely scary time for me, and eventually, I started losing lots of weight very quickly because my fear quenched my urge to binge. It had a big toll on my health physically and mentally. I'd lost all motivation and was sleeping hours upon hours. I took another look at your journey, and finally said "no more."
    I was tired of feeling lethargic and tired all the time. I was tired of hating the way I looked. For reference, I was around 139-140 pounds. It was still a normal weight for my height, but for me, it was too skinny, especially because the addition of high school sports in my life had me put on some muscle. I was only eating about 1400 - 1500 calories a day. Not terribly extreme, but for someone like me, who was exercising and training a lot, it was definitely not enough.
    So, I started eating until I was full, just like how you said. It was strange. I was so used to the feeling of being guilty after eating any amount of food, and it was hard to let go of all the thoughts I had about being "fat and ugly". I never binged or starved throughout the entire time. I'd pasted on an extra 400 calories in general, and added as I exercised. I was eating maybe 700-800 more calories a day, and, to be real with you, I felt amazing!
    Let. Me. Tell. You. Since starting, my performance has skyrocketed. I have SO MUCH more energy than before. I am stronger and happier. So far, I have gained around 8 or 9 pounds, but with that, I gained the confidence to wear a two piece bathing suit to the beach, which I'd never done before. My weight gain taught me to stand up to people, who I'd once let make me feel worthless. Yeah, maybe my thighs touch a little more, but I've never felt so beautiful in my life. I was able to build my stamina and strength, and I'm excited to show my sports team how much I've improved this summer once the season starts after quarantine.
    This never could have been possible without you. Whenever I'd feel bad about myself, I would think about you. If you could do it, then I could too. I've seen many fitness influencers talk about how they had to eat more to help their performance, but I had never seen someone do it the way you did. Yours reminded me that even though sometimes I was going to feel bad, the people I loved were still going to love me back and it would be worth it in the end. I'm not sure whether I'm at the end of my journey or if I still have some time to go, but I am so EXTREMELY thankful that I had you to help me through it. I'm writing this as I'm going outside to run some sprints (which I hated before but love now thanks to you), and, just so we're clear, I am VERY thankful that you are here, being as beautiful and amazing as you are. You continue to wow me, and you are one of my top inspirations. Go Stephanie!! I love you so much!!

    I developed an eating disorder around 8 years ago, and I lost a lot of weight very quickly. It completely messed up my metabolism. In my recovery I went all-in, and put on around 30 kg over 1-2 years. Since then I lost 13 kg, and now my body seems to have settled. My set weight is higher than I would like it to be, but im learning to accept that and not fight against it. Seeing your all-in journey has helped me a lot.

      I am currently trying to recover from an eating disorder. I lost a lot of weight, gained some back when i first started recovery but now i’m loosing weight again because I am consistently restricting. This All In thing really seems like a good way for me to recover and also fix my hunger queues and have a healthy relationship with food. But I am terrified of the weight gain, how did you manage to just do it and go all in and how did you feel during the process of it?

      хMacMSP hey speaking as someone in the same position as you and recovering from an ED I would say the best thing is to just lay out the pros and cons of your disorder and really focus on what you want to be remembered by. No one will say how much you weighed or how big or small you were at your funeral, it’ll just be about how great a person you were and that’s what really matters. Just reframing thoughts to be this way helps a lot and make sure during the process that you’re nice to yourself and throw away old clothes that won’t fit instead of loathing about it. I hope this kind of helps :)

      Heads up for those recovering from an ED, going All-in may not be the best thing to do. Especially for those at a low weight, a sudden, high caloric intake could cause refeeding Symdrome, which is seriously dangerous and could even lead to sudden death in certain cases. Slow weight gain would be a better option for most people recovering, at least untill they are out of risk for refeeding syndrome. You need to consult your doctor before making any drastic changes to your diet.

      ""fit and large"" only refers to sumo wrestlers but i dont think you understand their diet or specific way they gain weight, they dont just eat McDonalds all day and gain weight.. They eat a ridiculous amount of healthy food which 99% of general overweight people dont do.

And a big booty. And big boobs. Coz those are society's standards. If a man has some belly fat (not really a beer belly but also not quite flat), it's fine. No one pressures him to get a six pack. He only has to have a good-looking face. If a woman doesn't have a flat stomach, she HAS TO hide it.

    Hey steph i went all in since september after seeing you going all in. I was suffering from various eating disorders like bulimia and anorexia. Ah yes and also really really bad body dysmorphia. I am still recovering from eating disorder till now, even after overshooting my set point weight just like you. My weight is going down and i dont binge as much as i did before recovering (i binged so much and couldnt control myself. I even ate things out of garbage can), but i cant say i dont suffer from ed anymore just because i am in recovery.
    I am very slowly losing fat as you are. I recently stopped binging as i stopped snacking and eating whole meal 3 times, and i am very happy that actually worked. I also recently fixed my toxic relationship with exercising

We women deal with so much and criticize ourselves so much already about our bodies. It's NEVER easy to see yourself go up in size when you see yourself in the mirror. Why would people try to kick people down when they're already upset? Stephanie if you're reading this please stay away from those toxic places where you've seen people say negative things about this journey. Please see that most of your supporters will be here for you and are happy for you whether you're 30 lbs up or down. This is a journey, not a race. Even if you haven't lost all of your pre-all in weight 1yr in...so what...losing the weight wasn't the goal - don't let people who don't even matter try to steer you off your track and lose sight of what this was all for.     Dax Shepherd once talked about alcoholics kinda getting a reality check when they first come to meetings and realize that honesty is a must. Because lying to the others about alcoholism is like "bullshitting a bullshitter", they'll see right through it and no trust can be build. I often think about that when it comes to ed's.
    Once even you realize that weight gain is necessary, because you can feel your body shutting down, you can tell others that you want to change. You can tell them that you will slowly increase your daily calories and that this is the most healthy way to transition out of a caloric deficit. And others, maybe even health care professionals, will understand and support this decision as it sounds logical. But others with (past) ed's will instantly recognize it as a desperate attempt to remain in control, to get healthy without getting healthy. And they'll understand that this can never work as things aren't actually getting better.
    This channel is so important to me. It gives me hope that everything could actually become normal, while also "calling me out" on stuff. I'm nowhere as brave as Stephanie, but I am so inspired by her.

      Great reflection L J! We use all kinds of language to justify dieting and disorder eating behaviours, and eventually in order to achieve recovery we have to be honest with ourselves and name it as problematic. I think there's a lot of freedom in that though.

    I'll be honest, as someone who is very into sports here. The "fittest you ever looked" by fitness industry standards actually looks mad unhealthy to me. It looks mad skeletal and underweight. Im sorry if thats offensive but thats how alot of people who are into 'functional fitness' see it. Bodybuilding is not & has never been about health, and if you take off those 'bodybuilder' goggles you'll realise how perverse there standards are.
    You look so so so much healthier in every way now, with your healthy weight, healthy fat % and healthy body shape. It looks alot better to people outside of 'bodybuilding'. I am so glad and grateful that you are sharing your journey and helping to break the ridiculous standards of 'bodybuilding' and womans body image in general. Everyone is different and health should be the #1 priority. Keep posting and promoting this, no one should be going hungry, everyones metabolism is different and I don't even watch fitness youtubers I only watch some of your videos because its exposing the craziness of the 'bodybuilding' industry. Thankyou.

      The "fittest she ever looked" was Stephanie's attempt at what she thinks is "industry standard fittest", but it was very unfavorable body composition, especially for a female - underweight, malnourished and underMUSCLED. Not her "fittest" aesthetically - she looked emaciated - and not her "fittest" functionally - she lost all her strength, especially in her upper body, from literally starving.That's not how you do non-competitive bodybuilding in principle, that's how you do it when you don't know what you are doing and then you harm yourself. There are many such stories, nothing special unfortunately.
      It is good that she is now settled at a higher body fat percentage. She finally has normal levels of fat, after trying to stay extra lean with abysmal nutrition for years. She should just eat and train "normally" because she is incapable of doing anything outside of that without triggering extreme practices, disordered eating, and degrading her hormonal and metabolic health. Some people simply cannot figure out a long-term fitness+nutrition process that is healthy and also gives impressive results both in body composition and functional goals.
      She is yet to demonstrate that she actually "recovered". However, her conveniently timing quite a bit of weight loss so she can look "great" for her one year anniversary (while claiming she did not diet but her hunger lessened)... red flag. One of many.

      YES I came here to say this exactly. The bodybuilding world is honestly a scary place. I've been getting started on weight training to improve my strength and health, but within a few weeks of watching videos in this community on TH-cam my body image has gone down the toilet. Pretty counter-productive.

      @Wilfy Derfliw Oh come on, she isn't that big especially now that her hunger has gone down. Nor is she a basketball player, she doesn't have to be built like one.. there isn't just one way to lead a healthy life. The "set point" for body weight has been scientifically shown, I don't know what other evidence you need. The body maintains a certain weight, but of course things like hormonal shift/age/eating hyper palatable foods will alter those functions over time. Her problem is that she became too shredded and her hunger signals went through the roof. What matters now is that she's not constantly hungry anymore and has regulated hormones, I call that a win.

    I've been wanting to tell you this since you started this journey.. just never knew how to put it in words. I never wanted to make you feel bad because after you started this all in journey, you have truly changed my life.
    Way back when I first saw you on TH-cam- I wanted to look just like you. I went nights going to sleep with pains in my stomach because I was so hungry. I already had body image issues and I could never understand how I could get my body to look like yours.
    After watching your journey and seeing how much you now shine with happiness and beauty.. I have gained so much self love.
    You have truly changed the "fitness" culture.

    I am realizing I tend to do this without knowing its “all in” after I lose a lot of weight and maintain that very low weight for a while. I then become happy and decide I’m tired of being hungry and then allow myself to eat what I’d like. I’ve always downed myself for this and always lost my self esteem. I’ve been working on my self image currently and you’ve helped me view my situation in a different perspective, a positive one. Thank you.

      Im in ED recovery and the whole "restrict hard, then let go and eat what I want" is almost a weekly cycle for me. It's insanely difficult, but every person I've heard from who has struggled with disordered eating has always reminded me that recovery is both WORTH IT and POSSIBLE for everyone, no matter how long or hard they struggled.       I did the same thing without even knowing it, and I was really down on myself and developed disordered eating habit because I would restrict and then binge. Now I’ve stopped doing that, and I’m in the third phase of this process, and trying so hard to avoid falling back into toxic diet culture (which doesn’t even work for me anyway, why is it so hard to stay away from that). I feel better than ever

    All these fitness influencers always say "trust the process" when people ask for advice about body building and becoming fit. It's the same deal. You have to be patient, trust yourself, and keep going when it comes to any kind of challenges you do to your body! Everyone wants quick results but that is not how a human body works. Stephanie, you look happier and more energetic. I applaud you for going through your journey and sharing with the public!

    Your definition of health has to be the best description I’ve ever come across. Wow. When I was at what was considered a “healthy weight” I’d lost my period, was anxious, starving, unhappy, extremely food focused, stressed & insecure. It just goes to show that it’s very difficult to define someone’s health, wellbeing and quality of life purely based on the way they look.

    Thanks you for doing this one in particular. I’m SSOOOOOO tired of male (young or old) fitness TH-camrs/IGers/trainers/coaches speaking about women’s bodies and hormones as if they are so certain they know what they are talking about or have EVER experienced any of what we feel. Of course, they have access to evidence-based science (which MOST of them ignore anyway), but even then, the LIVED/EMBODIED EXPERIENCE of being in a woman’s body is something they will never know or understand and so they should take several seats and prioritize LISTENING AND LEARNING from women like you, as well as other women on TH-cam who cater to older women who 1) have already had children and 2) are approaching menopause. Controlled experimental laboratory studies are great (as you know being a scientist), but lived experience is ALSO very important data to consider. In general, we need more scientific studies on women of ALL ages when it comes to fitness, nutrition, wellness, etc.

    My frustration is being fat, having healthy bloodwork - low cholesterol, normal blood sugar, and low blood perssure - and dealing with people who don't know this, but lecture me about my health. I'm obese, but I run, lift weights and am even preparing for a really rigorous hiking trip. But people insist that I have type 2 diabetes, heart problems and am on the road for premature death. People also assume I live on donuts and coca cola. I eat whole foods, fresh (and frozen) fruit, vegetables, whole grains, lean protein and fish. By every clinical metric, I am really healthy. But I'm fat, so I get a lot of unsolicited assumptions about my health and physical abilities. It makes it so hard to make peace with my body.

      thank you so much for sharing your story! we need more stories like this. while obesity is a major risk factor for cardiovascular diseases as well as metabolic syndromes, it's not a definite connection when your bloodwork comes out normal and healthy. fat distribution differs for everybody and such concept should be normalised.

      If you’re over weight but maintain your health and are happy with how you look nobody should ever tell you you need to lose weight. However if you do ever want to there’s nothing wrong with that either. It’s unfortunate that you eat Whole Foods and still are considered over weight. Which is much different than Stephanie force feeding pizza and donuts with her perfect genetics and advocating others do the same.

      Thank you for sharing! I’m a completely reversed version of you...at 5ft 4.5in (164cm), I used to weigh 55kg (118lbs) and already suffering from “obesity” symptoms, like chronically inflammation and irregular Menstruation. Thus I got down to 51-52kg (110lbs) , my health had improved and my Menstrual cycle becomes even regular. To conclude, every single person has an unique body, and their’s never an universally optimal BMI value.

      There are a lot of studies which show that you are way healthier than your skinny friends which don't move or do sports maybe this helps

    I think being “fit” shouldn’t be associated with being extremely lean. And not being lean doesn’t mean you’re not into fitness. “When I looked the most fit” should be reworded to “when I was the most lean”. I think the only reason going “all in” seems like a big deal to people is because they’ve bought into the idea that being fit = having pretty low body fat. Just an opinion

      Willow Windsong women need more body fat than men to be ALIVE and healthy. To teach young women and men that having a fat percentage lower than what’s healthy is “healthy” is manipulative and awful.

      1st of all, being lean is part of being fit. 2nd of all nobody in the fitness industry is advocating to look like she did and be that lean year round. 3rd when she looked the best? She looked terrible. From a bodybuilding perspective she had no muscle mass she had no shape and she looked anorexic. Which is much different than a seasoned competitor who gets to that body fat for one show and still maintains their muscle mass. 4th the issue isn’t with that she went all in. The issue is she’s representing eating pizza donuts and ice cream as health? Which is pure insanity. What if she went all in on healthy foods instead of pizza, I guarantee she would’ve solved her hunger problem and not gained 40 fucking pounds. She would’ve gained 20 felt great and been at a comfortable weight. 5th and final. Did she need to gain weight? ABSOLUTELY but.... did she need to gain 40 pounds and lose all resemblance of being in shape? NO

      Being fit means you have muscle and noticeable muscle. You don’t have to be 6% body fat, but you’re not fit if you’re 35-40% body fat. You may be strong but you’re not fit.

      @@geordys1 1) She explained why she gained that much weight in the video, I've seen a lot of your comments and I suggest you watch the full video before commenting next time, 2) she didn't eat just junk food, she just didn't restrict her cravings as much as she had in the past. She was still eating healthy food, but if she felt hungry and was in the mood for some ice cream...she ate it. There's nothing wrong with that.

    MISCONCEPTION #3: I’d really like to point out, for those that are suffering from eating disorders without going into inpatient, or outpatient treatment for monitoring, do not go ‘all in’ without first going to a doctor or therapist.
    Refeeding Syndrome is a concern in regards to eating disorders, severe caloric restrictions, and very low weight, and it can, potentially, kill you.
    If you think you have an ED, go see a professional BEFORE you decide to change your calorie intake.

      @@jadenpetersburg1431 you don't have to be underweight to experience refeeding syndrome. That is a common misconception about eating disorders and keeps people sick because they don't see themselves as sick enough for treatment.

      Going to a therapist or doctor to be diagnosed with an eating disorder is sometimes a privelege. And many facilities still rely on BMI charts (which are nonsense on individual basis). I think it's right to point out that refeeding syndrome exists, but it's very rare. As far as I know it only applies if you have been eating less then (sorry for mentioning calories) 400kcal a day for a prolonged time. Otherwise I don't think you NEED to be monitored. But of course get any help you need to eventually go All In.

    Having an ED is terrible. I remember my binging and dieting cycles - eating too little and overexercising for a few months and then eating way too much for a few months cause I was hungry all the time. Hope you get better

Does it mean healthy by professional standards: meaning you have good heart function, low cholesterol, good blood pressure, and are functioning well mentally? or does it mean thin? Because news flash here - you can be "healthy" (as in joyfully exercising, mentally healthy and physically healthy by professional standards) and not be straight sized (or thin).

    Stephanie, seeing your all in video was so great for me. I was able to drop my weight from 165 pounds to 118 pounds, which for me is about 12 pounds underweight. I was running 5 miles everyday, I ate sometimes less than a thousand calories each day, and since I am teenage male, my metabolism gave me a boost. I was very grumpy and tired and looked sick a lot of the time, so when I was taken to a doctor to see if I was actually underweight or not, and told that I need to gain weight, your videos helped show me that it was okay to eat a lot. Normally, I would feel very sick and bloated after eating just normal amount of food, but you showed me that its not damaging to want to eat what you want sometimes and that its normal to sometimes gain weight. Sry if this seems like rambling and doesn't make a lot of sense, but I do just want to say, thanks for being you, and keep up with the great videos!

      You're right, women store more fat, but that isn't necessarily determined by looking at them. In her lean state she was probably a little under 15% (which is insane for a woman btw) but for a dude to be at that percentage his abs are barely showing. I agree that promoting absurdly lean is problematic, but I really don't understand what the first part of your statement was about.

      Women in general are built differently. Skinny women have low body fat compared to other women and function just fine.

And a lot of women hide the reality of what it feels like to be underweight because they're supposed to "be happy" because they're "beautiful." I see a lot of men commenting on this video about women's bodies when they clearly don't even know or understand the way they work or the history of women's health/fitness or the stigmas that hold women down. I think you need to sit back and listen a little more before you just interject yourself where you clearly don't belong.

    Another misconception is that you need to eat a lot of calories to go all in. There is also a minimum calorie (around 2500 cal) which is recommended per day. But I think the key of all in is satiation. There shouldn’t be any calorie restriction, whatever maximum or minimum.

    I didn't have extreme hunger, but I remember that when I was younger (like 18/19) I lost my period for months, after that, I started working out but eating what I wanted (but keeping it healthy) I gain a lot of weight but after two years, I am happy, I eat a normal amount of food. And I have my period regularly, but yeah it was a journey. I am 24 now.

      Christabelle Tan nothing wrong with gaining weight. Stephanie looked great and ripped when she was thin but dayum she looks amazing after a year of all in. Not just the body shape but how much happier she looks. If people comment on your weight, remind yourself of how much better you feel after doing so

    I am 30 and am about 25 lbs overweight. I have a physical job and go for long walks 3 - 5 times a week. I eat regular healthy meals, get good sleep almost every night and feel generally energized and healthy. I have 2 younger sisters and they are technically underweight. They dont exercise, they frequently crash diet, they pull all nighters all the time, and are overall much more unhealthy. It annoys me bc I know in general if people looked at the 3 of us together they would assume they are more "healthy" than I because they are technically slimmer. But my blood work always comes back perfect and they are frequently tired and hangry and dont really go to the doctor at all! Bottom line: appearance 100% is not the end all indicator of health.

    My hero!! Thank you for being a constant reminder that mainstream diet and wellness culture are TOXIC!! Health is mental and physical, and can look different for everyone. I suffered from an ED, got diagnosed with PCOS, and had to overcome a lot to heal my relationship with food. Today the PCOS community is filled with constant diet and weight loss content, which is disheartening for those with ED backgrounds. But thanks to you, I am reminded that my recovery really did mean something and has benefited my life in many ways. I am more healthy than I was in my “thin” ED days.

      I feel you on diet advice for "health reasons"! I used to have ezcema and pinterest posts were like no dairy no eggs no sugar no grains🥺. I now eat all of these (and not only in moderation lol) and my eczema healed after 1 month all in (I got my period back too)!

      girl, I feel u so much omg! I’ve been having BED for a few years and diagnosed with PCOS and lost my period. started my recovery last year through “all in” and stop restricting myself. I can feel myself being in a happier and healthier relationship with food and got my period back. even though I’m always been made fun of for my weight gain and have not lost the weight yet, but stephanie’s and a few other YT channels have helped me on this recovery journey. currently still figuring out what’s best for me but I feel so much better than the past tbh!

    I personally went from being extremely underweight throughout most of my life, and am currently on a journey of finding the balance between fitness, eating enough, and loving my body. To be honest, it's been quite hard realizing that the weight gain is a positive experience, and at times I've wanted to go back to having a BMI of roughly 17, but this video is extremely helpful and inspiring.

    Wow, watching your video made me realized I basically went “all in” at the pinnacle of my binge eating disorder, in hopes to fix it. It was the best thing I could’ve done for myself; I had a lot of health issues after putting my body through so much. In the same way, I gained the weight when I started to fix my relationship with food since my body thought it was going through a famine. Then I slowly lost that weight over the years as my appetite decreased and intuitive eating became the norm for me. It’s very interesting to see some small similarities in our journeys. Thanks for sharing Stephanie!

      I have binge eating disorder as well,but I'm really afraid to try it, since I'm already overweight and self conscious,and the fact that I have to gain weight is really triggering...:(

      Christine V wow tbh this sounds like a similar journey as mine! am currently on recovery from BED and trying to eat intuitively and restricting myself less. it’s heartening to know that u were successful in decreasing ur appetite and have lost the weight back tbh! im currently still gaining weight and have not lost any weight but I feel healthier with my relationship w food! any tips on how I can deal with insecurities w weight gain? thanks!

      Christabelle Tan I’m so glad you’re starting on this journey to recovery and I’m really excited for you!
      In terms of tips for overcoming body image issues, I think what really helped me get through it was to accept there are going to be good days and bad days (just like Stephanie’s experience).
      I wore comfortable clothes that were flattering but weren’t too tight to the point it fed into my insecurities. This meant accepting that it is ok to buy clothes with a larger size - there’s nothing wrong with that!
      I surrounded myself with supportive friends and family members.
      Most importantly, I did not work out if it was for the purpose of “I need to lose weight”. I was fixing my relationship with food AND exercise as well. I associated working out with guilt and negative thoughts since it was my way of trying to burn the calories I binged. So I started working out when I felt like I needed an energy boost or because I found joy in it. Overtime, I started to love exercising again and for the right reasons. As an added benefit, not the primary purpose, it has helped me get back to my set weight.

      I have a problem with one of her arguments, the one against reversed dieting, where she essentially says: "Slow increase of calories just prolongs the period of time you eat unhealthy, so increase dramatically, it will settle down."
      Using the same logic, you could tell obese people: "Slow decrease of calories just prolongs the period of time you eat unhealthy, so decrease dramatically, it will settle down." - voila, argument for yoyo dieting.
      Am I missing something?

    Everything you said about being "Healthy" is so true! As an exercise instructor, when I was at my fittest, I was exhausted and hungry all the time too! These days, I'm chubbier, but I feel and (in my opinion) LOOK healthier! It goes both ways. You can overeat AND undereat. You can also work out too often (definitely was the case for me).

    This series was incredibly helpful in helping me get back to normal. I lost 60lb between 2018-2019 & became 'addicted' to losing weight. I got stuck in the cycle of restrictions & working out, unable to lose more weight as I went into starvation mode so no matter how much I ate or little, nothing changed. I watched this series and this helped me understand that my ED (Eating Disorder) was not helping me lose weight, it was making me miserable. In the last 2 months I have been allowing myself to be 'free' with what I eat. I still eat healthy, I still work out. But I don't restriction as much (still a battle) and I listen to my body. I have not worked out until the point of wanting to throw up, collapse or tunnel vision since the gyms opened back up. If I am too tired, I will skip the gym and go to bed early. If I am hungry I eat (I make good choices) but I have allowed myself to enjoy things like a doughnut every once and a while. An icecream bar or maybe a burger and fries. So thank you for making this series. You definitely helped people struggling.

    I honestly feel like I went "all in" before I even knew it was a thing! This and the last video gave me a whole new perspective on my own journey with food. After restricting food and an obsessive workout routine, I lost sight of where I had started and was skinnier than I ever planned to be. Slowly, binge eating took over my life after going abroad for school and feeling very alone. I felt so low. I was heavier than ever and knew I needed to find intuitive eating and balance.
    But today I've found my "set weight" and continue to workout, but no longer let food etc rule my life. Looking back on it after watching these videos I feel as though my body put me through "going all in" without me knowing where I was headed. Even though I was completely ashamed and scared during the process - again I felt so alone and wouldn't want anyone to do it the way I did - I am strangely grateful for the process I went though. I never thought it was possible back then, but for anyone going through anything similar, do not be ashamed. More people than you know have gone through what you are. You are not your body, you are so much more. I still have my ups and downs but I no longer feel so completely ruled by food and my body image. I love myself at all stages of life!

I only went all in for 1 month and got my period back! My relationship with food is better than when I was a kid🤪 feels so good and i dont even mind the weight gain🤩

    You are such an important figure on the internet. You are just what the doctor ordered. It is so refreshing and therapeutic to hear a fitness icon preach genuine health over appearance. Simply hearing you say that "there has to be some level of body acceptance" takes a weight off of my shoulder. I like hearing that my objective should be to love my body and honor it instead of grinding against it to fit a mold. You are golden, and I am forever grateful for your channel.

    I just want to thank you for this video. For the past 2 years, I have suffered from amenorrhea due to calorie restriction and intermittent fasting when I first started working out. For months and months, I have been so conflicted about how I should eat. I knew I needed to eat more to get my period back, but the thought of weight gain and being in a constant surplus terrified me. I have tried reverse dieting in the past, but I don't think I could ever bring myself to eat as much as necessary. Currently, I by no means restrict my eating to the point I once did, but I still constantly worry about overeating and weight gain.
    Fast forward to watching this video, and you saying "healthy is not a weight, it is a function". That really hit the nail on the head for me and gave me the realization I needed to heal my body. Even though I feel healthy because I constantly weight lift and eat whole foods, my body is telling me it's not. Thank you for putting things in such a clear perspective for me and for giving me the push to embark on my own journey.

Our society equates thinness with health, but if maintaining that physique means extreme hunger, lack of sleep, losing your period, and so on, It's not healthy. Also, MENTAL HEALTH MATTERS. It’s truly inspirational coming from someone who’s suffered from EDs, body dysmorphia and restricted eating tendencies.     YES!! I went ‘all in’ from being seventy pounds overweight!! Same symptoms of extreme hunger. Its the difference in being ‘ravenous’ and being back on track to simply being ‘ready’ to eat. Loved this, beautiful video xxxx

    I've always been underweight, but a few weeks ago I gained 2-3 pounds (4-6 kg) and I was so insecure because gaining weight meant realising I had hip dips, my legs didn't look long anymore, I looked short. It was the first time I was truly insecure about my body, but you helped me through it. We have the same figure so I began watching your videos at age 18. I wanted to look like you, but now that you've gained weight I realise how small you were. Women aren't supposed to be shredded fit, we have to store a little extra fat to function properly, and that's fine. Now I just want to gain weight, not constantly be tired and have to deal with joint pain. I jusy want to gain a bit more weight so I can stand turing a bus ride without being in pain. I don't want tto be cold during summer anymore. Thank you, Steph, for sharing your journey with us!

    Can confirm what Stephanie said about going all in while in a larger body. I'm larger body that Stephanie, not obese but I've never been underweight and I experienced very similar to Stephanie. Ive been on diets my entire adult life and ended up suffering with binge eating disorder. I ended up doing therapy and managing to get through it but I still was restricting for a long time which dragged out the process, I wasnt binging anymore but I still had extreme hunger. Once I gave up restrictions more than a year ago was when I finally started to feel my hunger be satiated.

    I’ve only just found out about you and your channel yesterday. I spent all of last evening watching each of your “All In” videos and it has already helped me immensely by shifting my mindset and really thinking about the way I’ve been treating my body all of these years. I have also dealt with extreme hunger and ed which has worsened during quarantine and every day has been a struggle in regards to the restrict/binge cycle, and food guilt. Following your journey over the past 24 hours has been so uplifting, informative, and a breath of fresh air. Thank you so much for sharing and being vulnerable, I know this was hard work. I may be new here but you’ve won my heart and I wish you all the best!!!
