      @justanother7663 4 ปีที่แล้ว +104

      That is PARTIALLY true. Sure, if you are only eating and sitting it will most likely go to your stomach. If you STICK to being active DAILY then your body will put fat where it NEEDS it (i.e., where you train most).
      Also refraining from eating too much JUNK will help with less stubborn fat build up.

    Stephanie is the perfect fitness channel for someone like me who is recovering from an eating disorder. I really want to get buff and put on lots of muscle mass but my ED brain hates the idea of needing the proper diet to do that. Most fitness channels regarding weightlifting can be kinda triggering to me (I’m not saying they are bad!! I just avoid them!! I don’t expect people to change the way they talk about fitness I’m just saying it’s hard for me to find fitness instructors or videos that don’t reignite my ED tendencies and habits!!) so its really really refreshing for me to watch Stephanie. I’m making small steps towards getting better, but it’s really helpful to get that health and fitness/weightlifting stuff + self love and “you need food to live”. It’s health without the diet culture influence. Which is exactly what I needed

    I love you for doing this steph. My mother died in 2017 I lost 25kg in the year she died due to how much I couldnt stomach food, I lost my curves and all of the muscle I worked hard to gain before 2017. 2019 was the year I tried to gain my happiness back and I finally gained back 15kg of the weight I lost due to grieving. Your journey of weight gain has made me feel so comfortable with eating until I'm full, Eating for fuel that I need and deserve to grow and basically just validating my bodies need for food and weight too. I love that you have allowed people like me to feel comfortable with their weight gain and realise that it is ok and sometimes it is necessary for our mental and physical health to gain weight to get to our highest point. This year is all about gaining muscle and getting my 130kg squat back, I lost my strength in 2018 after my mums death and last year I gained some of it back. There is one thing that Stephanie didn't mention here: body fat distribution. Keep this in mind when you consider whether or not you want to use this strategy to maximize muscle growth. Someone like Stephanie, whose genetics seem to give here a predisposition towards distributing body fat in here lower abdominal, glute, and leg areas will benefit more from a caloric surplus and subsequent placement of fat in those areas. For example, if I were to eat at a surplus consistently my body fat isn't going to be distributed to those areas, it will instead be placed more towards my middle and lower abdominal areas for the most part, with a relatively small amount being distributed to my glutes/legs. Obviously it's up to you whether or not this is good or bad, but do keep it in mind when you are making this consideration.

      I think the point is she couples the surplus with exercises that targets the muscles she wants to grow. If you don’t exercise and just eat, obviously it won’t go where you want. It’s essentially bulking, which people do to gain muscle all the time.

      I have to say that if you consistently train your glutes and your core, you will achieve this. But you have to train for years and gain real muscle on your glutes. I can say it through my experience. I was born with -10 glutes, and now, after years of training, and never being able to cut the carbs 😆😅, my body has a shape. Train hard, eat enough protein, and it will come.... the butt

    To put it very simply, you are EXTRAORDINARY! I've been battling an eating disorder for 20+ years now and even though I'm in recovery, I still have momentary panic the minute my clothes don't fit right or the number on my scale goes up. I've been a subscriber for quite a while and have always viewed your extremely lean physique as my "goal" body. However, thanks to you sharing this incredibly personal journey with us, my relationship with food is changing. I feel happier, healthier, and have more energy than I have in years! I guess what I'm trying to say is thank you. Thank you for empowering us to view our bodies as vehicles for life, instead of mere temples to be gazed upon. 💜

    Steph i just wanna thank you. Because of you, i decided finally gain weight for my health. I have 98 pounds, underweight, so low body fat percent and problems with my period. I've been struggiling with gain weight fear and ortorexia i think. Now i can admire i was obssesed about beeing so lean, but beeing so lean isn't healthy eather. Of course i had mussle, i can see them on my belly and butt, but as you say mussle+no fat doesnt look good. Mussle+little bit of fat=fire. Now i trying gain weight and Fix my health and mind. Wish you all the best, you and jeff are amazing couple. Wish someday meet a men as great as jeff is for you. More love guys and greetings from Poland 😘

      I was 88 pounds, eating so little... and i had really good self confidence. But one day I saw a picture of me with my friend on a club, and I looked sad, scary skinny, so lifeless... im 1,63m, and I was in a dance course, i was modeling, i was in a Miss Contest and i was starting to get problems with my period too. I cried and cried and i ate like a pig. Pizzas, pastas, cakes, allll in... but... i didnt exercise enough, cause my course was over and im a nail tech now, so i work sitting all day. I started not liking my self again... I started exercising now, lifted my bum a little got my belly less... pregnant and im almost 120 pounds, and very happy even tho everyone says im getting thiccc i proudly say thank you, it was hard work. And it is, mentally for sure. But you can do it trust me.

Seeing you on your journey, I stopped starving myself, I made my deficit much smaller and not by reducing food but by moving more. I have been trying to lose weight and stay "skinny" and toned for about 5 years now but going on this journey with you-accepting myself, I feel so much more confident. Having more curves, eating well and listening to my body has made me feel amazing (most of the time :D). Thank you!

    It’s weird and scary how TH-cam suggested this video. I’m a guy and I play rugby. So the video had nothing to do with me. Or so I thought.
    However, after watching your other videos I then became I scared (or worried) at TH-cam “listening” to my conversations.
    I hurt my knee a few years back and started to put on a lot of unhealthy weight. I used IF to regulate my weight but ended losing 47 pounds over 6 months. Oh well. Being lighter won’t hurt much right?
    My knee is now healed up and I’m back on the field. After a full year of training (sprints, plyometrics, squats, etc) I still don’t feel as explosive or as strong as I was when I was 230 pounds especially during games.
    I mentioned this to a teammate a few weeks back. We came to the conclusion that I needed to go back to eating regularly. Low glucose? I’m guessing I won’t be as ripped any more but at least I’ll have energy and power again.
    Just like what you concluded from your All In project right?

    Seeing those clips side by side was really eye opening to just how lean you used to be. I love how healthy and happy you are now and that you’re embracing your curves on this journey. My goals are to recomp and gain more muscle/shape but not necessarily get super lean and shredded and I love all your content. We support you and I’m looking forward to your insight into shaping a strong, curvier body going forward.
