Think you know reality creation, well its different this year with the XR chip taking full advantage of their AI Deep Learning Database. We talk about it in this video!

What's amazing is that you're the only person who has done a video and showed this feature. Everyone else talks about calibration, brightness, vertical bars, munchkins, this, that.
But incidentally, they forget to mention that the picture quality of the Sony for low to medium quality content is night and day thanks to Reality Creation. It's a game changer - literally a game changer. I have a Xbox One and recently played Avengers with Reality Creation On and Off and the difference is nothing short of stunning. One's playable, the other is a blurrathon.
If you have a PS4, it bumps the picture to a PS4 Pro something I personally noticed with Ghosts of Tsushima. My image had so much detail that it looked like the PS4 Pro version.

From my experience with reality creation, I only have a led backlit Sony, I crank that thing up to 100% on manual mode and OMG the pictures are gorgeous. Perhaps since my professor is older it's not as intense or as sophisticated as the newer ones, but watching marvel movies with the reality creation on max just makes it look so damn impressive.

Have a Sony A95K and my god hasReality creation improved picture quality. The biggest example is when playing GTA IV on PS3. It not only drastically improves picture quality and sharpness but removes every single bit of blurriness like magic. Anyone who’s ever played GTA IV on a PS3 knows it looks awful but with reality creation it actually makes it look just under 4K. Pair it with an Mclassic (a HDMI upscaler) to remove jaggies and upscale the entire image and you get a damn near perfect picture.

Finally! Took me a while but this was the video I was searching for! I kept reading/seeing reviews about how the new cognitive processor does a really good job with upscaling, but other video reviewers don't really go into the details/settings about it very much. They usually turn off reality creation as "a principle", which I think misses out on the point of what Sony is implementing here.

I am glad that you can see the difference between the Sony TVs and from other brands! If you want a best tv it have to be clarity first, secondly the color accuracy then pictures shadow detail coming third…. Sony beat them all and remember if you don’t have enough brightness you can’t see all the shadow details because the picture colors are crush I don’t like when the colors of tv pictures start to blended together. When you see screen like to blue or too green it is not color accuracy they have to be separate colors from each other! Only in video games it’s ok to see colors crush we call it animated pictures but not ok in the realistic images!

Spot on. Let the TV do it’s thing. I’m all about accuracy. But when I took the cuffs off and tried all the options on Cobra Kai on Netflix, artist intent vs what I could produce was so different, especially in Dolby Vision.
I found the reality creation to be perfectly unobtrusive on that show at 33 - about a 3rd power. But like you said, when I played a Dolby Vision based show, I was able to take it to around 69 before noticing busyness on my 77” a80j.
The final kicker was playing with contrast enhancer. Yes, it still looks good on Off. But when set to Medium with the Luminance level still to Bright - Holy Bejesus - The TV came alive 😍.
This was also true when gaming with the contrast enhancer set to Medium. It brings the low-to-mid level highlights up a TON.
Sure it may not be “accurate”, but my eyes 👀 DID NOT CARE. Let the TV’s technology do it’s thing man.

I cannot express what a game changer Reality Creation is even on a 2014 Sony TV.
I own a 2014 Sony 1080P and I was playing Avengers on Xbox One. When I watch videos of Xbox One gameplay it looks blurry (even on a 4k feed and display) but I noticed that I didn't mind the Xbox One as much when I played games on it like Forza Horizon or Quantum Break. I found out the reason why. My TV has Reality Creation - when I turn it off, the Xbox One becomes blurry and unplayable. I turn Reality Creation and boom it transforms the picture.
I have a PS4 and I've always thought it looks like a PS4 Pro especially after watching all the comparison videos from Digital Foundry, IGN, GameCandy. My PS4 does actually produce a PS4 Pro picture, thanks to Reality Creation. I can't tell the difference between a PS4 Pro on another TV and my PS4 on my Sony.
It adds so much detail that I can clearly notice it on a 55 inch from 11.5 feet away. Up close, the added detail is incredible.
It's really DLSS for TVs, only it works on everything.

Hey brotha I know you sre all about depth with these tvs. I also believe you sre like me where you like that and don't mind losing a bit of brightness for it. If you can on the a80j or a90j. You should really try out dolby dark with gradation rpeff3red turned on. I've never ever experienced such a deep rich beautiful image lime this before. Thw a90j still boosts those highlights also but the depth retained is intense man. I've found I really enjoy using gradation on the Sony a90j even with dolby vision of course it isn't correct. But it's so good even in dolby bright using grdations prrffered is amazing. I know black adjust doesn't do as much to dolby vision as the content is much more of a standard but I'll sometimes put it on high while using dolby bright with gradation preffered and that is just so beautiful man. These tvs versatility are on another level. This is the biggest difference for me. 90 percent of the people using these tvs won't be using them as accurate as they can. That's just how it is and some may not admit it but they use live color and stuff while using there own set. As long as you like it thats what matters. My thing is turning live color on low makes it looks so similiar to lg out of the box so both won't be perfectly accurate as lg does oversaturate a hit out of the box. So if you like that the sony can do it. It can actually surpass the lg in color with just love color alone. I see alot of people using native color space in there lg and I'm like then you would need to force a color space on the Sony to do the same. So it cna do it and it can do it pretty intensely. Like Adobe rgb is intense with color haha.. All what you like and prefer. For me and a consumer that is OK with messing with settings they would be in for a treat with these tvs. I see to many people just turning on the set or other sets and not adjusting anything. You should really do a video explaining the settings man in depth. Even show about changing color space and Live color. Just so people know it's there.

This paired w/smooth gradation on high will give u a gradient free picture w/out losing the detail, because like U said it brings out fine detail differently than sharpness. It's amazing and makes your content look like true 4k used properly. Everyone should be using this, this is why Sony's processing is held into such high regard. Loved this man also loved you're live with B and with whisper earlier. Had a whole bunch of sony guys. Idc what numbers say the numbers don't tell the story on these tvs. It transforms in content compared to test patterns. It's absolutely outstanding and you will see it and it will be noticeable I'm the shootout. Even Vincent form HDTV test. Showed it got way closer to the actual reference monitor he had the bvm x300 it had better sharpness better saturation better highlights and just matched way more. The lg did good with near black that was it though he said. But dnice and others are able to calibrate that part way more then him. And out of the box the Sony is better anyways. Dnice posted up his calibrations it was spot on he even got color down to 0.4de and the gamma tracking was absolutely perfect. He said all 3 of his a90j got the same results so that says alot imo. He said he did not have the issues that Vincent did. I also saw av passions measurements being the same. So yeah shootout is gonna be great. Most of us know how great this tv is. And it does get closer to intent imo it brings out detail that got loss. You can't explain the a90j until you see what it does. It's insane so good man.
Your video also proved it adds detail with the stars alone man. One guy said it was impossible the other day it only adds sharpness someone who never used the tv keep in mind. Your video just proved it does. Amazing stuff. I think it's pretty crazy b the installer got that c1 83 inch for techno dad. He said the a90j was still brighter he said its ridiculous he was like it was more punchy. The c1 was good bit he was like the a90j was just that much better. Just shows you eyes tell the story in content. I know my eyes don't lie man. It's the most incredible tv I've seen and the a80j is there also. I still prefer the a90j that extra punch it has is intense at times. It also helps when you use it in darker more accurate modes. It allows it to be dark while still bumping up those highlights at times. It's incredible absolutely amazing.

A summary of avs forum n YT videos at best. He said this, that guy said that, This guy can get better tracking, that guy cannot. Just what you think it does for your picture alone is good enuf, dun need to justify it. Also, it cannot bring back details in the content that is lost. Only bring out details more which were obsesured/masked thru low rez and bit-staved content. Only the processer is choosing which parts to RC in the content thru it’s Cognetive process. Probably using its DOF algorithms to achieve this. Much like a Darby somewhat, if you’ve played with that.

    • @reviewforthetube6485
      @reviewforthetube6485 2 ปีที่แล้ว

@@ezhilezyldor6756 didn't mean it literally and nothing can bring back anything that would be exactly like omg this just brought back exact detail. As you said it's more of brining out detail in low bit starved content. The issue with that comment though is the higher the resolution the more details it has to work with. I think Vincent explained it best. The lower res older content he actually said it didn't make as much of a difference with I mean it still does bring out a bit more detail of course. But the higher res he did it on the more he noticed the details coming out even further. So just weird man tbh I have the a90j and in my experience. It does great with low res but it does even better with high res. The thing is it's alresdy so good at upscaling so when you compare with other tvs you reslly see it right off the bat. Higher res all tvs are pretty good at now. But the a90j brings out things you never even noticed. Imo it even adds detail to color. It's pretty nuts man. But don't take what I was saying literally about loss detial what I mean is detail that's there it's just bringing it out.
You can see it bring more detail out in the highest res most prestine content also. It isn't just bit starved or low res content. That's why you have to experience it yourself. A few people go naw it's impossible and it's like well its not because it's doing it. It's like the higher the res the more the xr has to work with. It can further push the envelope.

I also found a setting called Detail Enhancer under Advanced Settings which is set to Medium and that makes a big difference.
For soccer, it does clear it a bit but it's not enough to really become super clear because the ball is so tiny when looking at huge parts of the field.

One thing I've noticed, which no one seems to comment on. Reality Creation does a really good job noise of supressing picture noise, particularly noticeable on old, supposedly restored movies. I was watching the Blu Ray version of Hammer's 1958 Dracula movie, and out of the box its a a shivering mess in the corners of the shots away from the main action. A sort of mosquito noise overlay laid on top of the sky, the edges of the rooms etc. with lots of very dark scenes that don't hide the problem. With RC on (still experimenting with level, its set to 35% at the moment) it makes these much less intrusive, only noticeable if you are looking for them.
Would be grateful if for some comments re:
    a. What level of RC do people recommend. I can't see much gain raising it above 40%, and above that it that seems to introduce a few artefacts around moving things. The default 20% reduces this noise, but not enough to make it unnoticeable. It is however better than the Auto setting.
    b. I've turned off all of the noise reduction in the Blu Ray player, in the belief that its better to do the job once and let the TV handle it. Is this a sensible approach?

@@TechWithKG Thanks for replying. I tried your suggestion for a few days, but on balance prefer a higher setting of 35 to 40.
A good test case I've found is flickering background flames watched in a dark room - at low levels of RC a candle flame tends to be a ball of light, but at higher levels you can see the structure at the heart of the flame (e.g. the dark area surrounding the wick becomes much clearer). I found that 35 is noticeably better than 30. Moving from 35 to 40 helps a little, but no point in going above that.

@@roberthuntley1090 it's really content dependant what level to have Reality Creation at. Some content can look really bad at 30+, some content looks great at this setting, some content it's barely noticeable and you have to crank it up. I find for the majority of content a setting somewhere between 25 and 35 is sufficient. Going about this and content starts to look artificial usually, especially content with grain present or an image that's already fairly sharp. Cranking it up on a sharp image tends to make the image start to look like an oil painting. It can also start to artificially highlight blemishes and things on people's faces and it starts to look kind of strange.

But abl is always there regardless you don't get 500 nits full field by turning off logo luminance all logo luminance does it makes it so the panel doesn't dim when it sees a static logo that's all. Not abl you have no idea what you are talking about and you mix everything up. There is no abl switch there is pixel shift and logo luminance lg allows that to be turned off that's it. XR Processor is a separate chip than the Android SoC in the A80/90J. The upscaling to my understanding is algorithms based on trained ML implemented in ASIC, there are 3rd party apps such as madVR (useful for LG OLEDs and Samsung QLEDs) and mpv that can provide similar quality to XR.

I'll soon find out when I have my x94j but on my x900f 25/30% for games made everything so much better and retailed without the ugly high sharpening effect that regular sharpening has. In movies you could legit go has high as 100% and it felt like you could count the pores on the faces of actors from viewing distances lol
