I appreciate how you always give credit where it is due to the people who contributed. Some site do not and its not a good thing 😕
So I thought of this while watching the video. Imagine if the dragon sneezed while sleeping... it would burn off the top of the tower right? So if you made it look " Singed" or burnt off. I think that would be a great story and give the tower some more interest!
In her "making the dragon" video another commenter suggested the same thing, and also suggested it might be because the dragon is allergic to dandelion fluff and broccoli. But Miss Periwinkle fed the dragon broccoli anyway because she thought he was only saying that because he didn't like it. Guess this lore is a natural part of public zeitgeist now!

if the tower is an observatory, it would be perfect for the clock
Here is an item I might want to make on my day off. This is much more interesting than a regular Grandfather clock. Photos of the clock in various places in the house made me think, ..... You have a Fairy Godmother Clock that meanders about the house O_0 I like this.

I love this design, I've never seen a clock with shelves attached to the outside before!
the angle of the clock hand makes combined with the curved shape reminds me of a snowman...
This is a charming clock though. I like the addition of the shelves and the purple accents.

So adorable and happy I found the video I was in hospital and day 3 there I wasn't quite ready to watch videos and after being there 16 days I was ready to come home last Fri and adjusting still, all my projects are on hold at the moment.

I also like the shelf additions! Great idea!
For the wick, you could also heat the pencil lead and insert it directly into the candle. Being made of graphite, it can take a lot of heat! Just a thought!

Omg it’s freakin ADORABLE! Brilliantly done. If you have a teeny tiny little mouse it would look cute in that bottom open bit.
Ooh, what a good suggestion! Maybe a fairy mouse with teensy wings? It lives in the clock and Miss Periwinkle consults with it occasionally for weather lore.

Candles, ummm let me see should you use more candles? Heck yes! You make the candles look so whimsical, they add a personal touch to you project. That could be a signature item, like Robert Thompson who added a mouse to all he’s woodwork projects. You could even hide them and leave it to us to find, oh what fun. OK I’m getting a little carried away, can I help it if I’m a 70 year kid.🤪🤪🤪🤪😂😂😂

The moment when the joint compound is added to a cardboard miniature is like the moment when Baumgartener Restoration finally gets around to cleaning the dirt off the face of an old painting! The rest is cool, but this is where the magical transformation happens!

That's so pretty! Again love the candle. I did chuckle at "chipboard" here in England it's a wooden board for walls or floors made from wood chips smooshed flat. I couldn't imagine making miniatures from it. 😹😹

I call it cardboard. There may be other names for it in other parts of the uk though. I love the differences between our countries for objects, like "sidewalk" is "footpath" over here, "faucet" is "tap", "outlet" is "plug socket" and sooo many other things 😹😹😹. Its fabulous xx

Oh Ara, you make this look soooooo easy! I know it's not too difficult to put the pieces together - but all the work you put into this to create a tutorial for us! Figuring out the pattern, showing us the order to glue the pieces, thinking ahead to paint around the clock face first (building it from the inside out). Thank you for putting this together, for the patterns you provide, for your calm manner and your humour! My clock is currently in progress - can't wait to see how it turns out!

I don't want the cardboard builds to end! It seems like such a more approachable material than wood, for me. I really like the slight wonkiness of things, and the texture the joint compound gives it.
I don't know if this would work, but I was wondering if adding sand or some other textured material might do interesting things in the joint compound mixture? Maybe coffee grounds? Not for every project, but maybe it could have a place on something you want to be rougher, or just to show a difference of material for detailing.
Would glitter show through at all, do you think? I don't know how opaque the joint compound makes the mixture. If opal glitter showed through just a little, it might add to the magical feel inside a fairy grotto or something.
Interesting ideas! Definitely something that could be tested in the future😉

Love this clock! LOVE IT! I would happily have a life sized one of those in my house. I love the purple and gold accents and the little shelves with the planets. It's so unique and fun and whimsical and yet still very iconic. Another must try. I think Rover needs one of these.
