    I have always loved miniatures ever since my grandfather made a dollhouse for me over 50 years ago.

      Oh wow, that would have been very special! I had a hand me down dollhouse and I was determined to put working lights in it and make it as realistic as possible 😄

    The only thing missing is the little beads for feet on the bottom. I do miniatures to be creative with my hands and stay busy. My love for minis comes from my Granny and Grandma they both did them and made shadow boxes with little clothespin dolls to go in them. Have a great day

      oooo awesome Idea!!! yea! Thanks! I make dolls too but not from clothespins! sounds fun!

    This is so cute! Reminds me of the one my Grandma had when I was a child. I'm rewatching as I'm going to try a simplified version (smaller, no arch) for my dollhouse bathroom and I'm going to try using mesh fabric stiffened with glue for the rattan 😬🤞 great video and technique!

      Thank you 😊 That sounds great! The mesh fabric is a good idea!

      @@miniatureaddictionclubThe mesh fabric sounds like a good idea....but it doesn't quite look quite right 😂 still very flimsy even with glue. Thank you for replying, that made my day! 😁

    It turned out great! I'm pretty sure I had friends, when I was a kid, in the 70s, who had the full-sized version in their house.😅 I love it! I'm looking forward to seeing what's next.😊

      Thankyou 😊 my friends had one too in the 90s, I think theirs had little doors on the bottom though. I currently have one very similar to this in my studio holding all my art supplies. Maybe one day I'll make a few different versions. Glad you enjoyed it! 😁

    Wow! This is rad! I’m not sure it’s possible to put into words what I find so fascinating about miniatures, but it’s funny how it’s such a universally appealing thing to our reptile brains. I’ve been trying to work on a tiki bar room box for some time and definitely feeling inspired now ❤

    Love your book case it's so grand. I love miniatures because its nice that you can make anything into some thing small. I am doing a box room .got a long way to go finishing it.

      Thank you so much. Me too, you're only limited by your imagination! My room box looked so empty when I first started but it slowly filled up, I just took my time and made one thing at a time.

    Very cute. I’ve always loved miniatures as a small child I had imaginary tiny playmates and I made tiny things for them. I was an only child and had all the time in the world for it then. ❤

    I love this! I am going to make it for sure soon as I can get to someplace that sells that mesh and the cutters. It might work in the chateau I made. A bit smaller for the other houses I've made. I don't think it would work in Hagred's hut though... wrong timeline. lol it's only a 1/24th scale (or smaller) This is soo exciting! thank you for sharing your skills with us!

      Hi, they are called mitre cutters or mitre shears, very handy! You can adjust the angle they cut at, great for mini projects!

    Very nice! I think I would use cord in the desired color, eliminating the need for all that painting. Why paint the wood and board when all pieces will be completely covered in cord? Why not give even the basic beginning measurements in case someone wants to try making it - maybe they are a secret... anyway, thanks for sharing your demo.

    • @bbjune6812
      @bbjune6812 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Considering she already has to paint the lattice, it makes sense that she would paint the cord too. It’s much easier to use one color of paint on everything rather than trying to match the paint for the lattice to the color of the cord.

    • @katbird5775
      @katbird5775 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Why complain so much about a free tutorial? Make it with colored cord if that suits you, but sometimes we minimakers use whatever is on hand. As for the measurements, compare it to a real life piece or one you can find photos of online, and just reduce the measurements, making it to fit in where you need to put it. Anything 7 feet tall by 3 feet wide, for example, would be 7" by 3" in 1:12 scale, for example. That's just a guesstimate on the piece in question, but you can draw it out on paper and cut out templates to make something fit where you want it. Tutorials are an awesome start, but your own imagination will go a long way if you give it a try.

    i'd strongly suggest investing in a better camera - the visual glitching of textures triggered an ocular migraine for me so i unfortunately can't continue with the video :s

      Thank you, yes it annoys me too! I have a new camera but it films in such high quality it crashes my laptop when I'm editing, so I'm still working on resolving the issue. Hope you can tune back in in the future!
