Any moisturiser that is suitable for your skin type, and retinol needs to be used at night only so use vitamin c serum in the morning x

It will depend on your skin, have you had your skin checked by a professional? Niacinamide and Vitamin C will also be good to add to your routine.

Since this is a water based serum I would use retinol first followed by the beta glucan serum. Otherwise you can switch it the other way round x

yes you can use retinol :) since you don't use any other actives in your routine, start off slowly as per the recommendations in the video xx

Retinol is usually 3-6 months x

Is that dangerous that much for the skin ?
It leaves your skin more sensitive to the sun. Make sure you fully cleanse in the morning to remove the retinol from your skin. I always recommend a physical sunscreen regardless if you use retinol or not :)
It will help protect the skin and reduce wrinkles/fine lines and hyperpigmentation

Chemical exfoliants and retinol should not be used together.
Use the aha/bha 2 x per week at night, retinol on the other nights x
I took cerave blemish control cleanser.cerave blemish control gel.and cerave retinol serum these three for my oily skin and I have some acne on my face. Now which one do I use when? Which moisturizer is better for oily skin.
The blemish control gel contains glycolic and salicylic acid which exfoliate the skin, so I’d recommend skin cycling with these products. In the morning just stick with a gentle cleanser and moisturiser, then in your PM routine rotate between:
Night 1 - cleanser, blemish control gel, moisturiser
Night 2 - cleanser, retinol, moisturiser
Night 3 - cleanser, moisturiser
The exfoliation from the gel will allow the retinol to penetrate more on night 2, and taking a rest day from active ingredients can help your skin recover. Using both in one day could lead to irritation and more breakouts, but after adjusting to the actives the rest day might not be necessary.
Edit: also, both the gel and the retinol increase photosensitivity, so be sure to use sunscreen!

If you have hyperpigmentation it will get darker before it gets lighter when you generally start treating it.

Can i use this with the Cerave psoriasis moisturising cream?
That moisturizer contains salicylic acid, so no. The Cerave website says do not mix their retinol serum with salicylic acid unless you alternate days. Or one in the morning and the other at night, but not together.
It contains niacinamide so unfortunately it doesn’t work for my sensitive skin!
Hey there! This is my first retinol and I’ve been using it for about 3 months now. I’ve noticed that my acne blemishes have become a lot more lighter, but I’ve been occasionally getting pimples on the forehead area. I also noticed that the pimples reappear in the same spot sometimes. I was wondering if I should continue? And when should I discontinue it if I don’t see much improvement? Thank you so much!!
Keep using the retinol. What else do you use in your routine?
@@SkinZoneTV I use a gentle cleanser, oil cleanser, soothing toner, moisturizer, and sunscreen! All of them are from Korean brands except the cleanser!
The oil cleanser should be your first cleanser, and you need to remove the oil from the skin with another cleanser preferably gel/foam - otherwise this could be leading to clogged pores :)@@user-gh5rl6nh5e

Melasma is often hormonal, I would go to a naturopath or doctor to check your hormone levels. Consult with a skin professional for your routine. But yes retinol is great for hyperpigmentation.

hi just wondering after i’ve put the retinol on how long do i wait untill i put the moisturiser on my face for the retional to absorb into my skin. Also not related to the video but my cerave moisturiser is making my skin worse and i just started using it. is that normal?
Just until the product has absorbed into the skin, which is normally quickly.
You should choose a moisturiser suitable for your skin type, so if your skin is getting worse ? (not sure if this is breakouts) it may not be the right one for you

I would wait until you are in your late teens/ early 20’s unless you have been prescribed retinol by a skin therapist or dermatologist.

The first cleanse removes the dirt, oil, sweat, spf from the day. The 2nd cleanse will cleanse properly x

Yes it sounds like purging. It will clear generally 4-6 weeks. How many days a week are you using the serum?

@@smiskriru cut it back to 3 x per week, and alternate nights :) until your skin adjusts. You can build up to every night. Also it is normal for your hyperpigmentation to darken as it skin cells come closer to the surface of the skin to shed.
Ensure you are wearing sunscreen during the day. xx

Hello, I have been using this for about 5 days . I noticed in the area that I had dark spots it did lighten. But on my cheeks I started to get shedding and redness and every time I put it in that area it burned alittle. I decided to put it only on my dark spots and not on the other areas that I was experiencing the shedding and redness. Is that normal? Am I doing anything wrong. What do you recommend ?
When you first start retinol it works better to use every other day at first and let your skin get used to it . Look up Dr Drays video on starting retinol.

Yes you can use the cleanse first, followed by the retinol serum in the evening. You will need moisturizer to lock in your skin hydration and protect the skin. Sunscreen is a must when using retinol as retinol does make your skin more sun sensitive.
Find a moisturizer suitable for your skin type, and same goes for face sunscreen :)

Just monitor your skin, if you notice it’s too much cut it back

Yes sure if you are new to retinol, otherwise start off just a few times a week and then build up to every night. This retinol is encapsulated so it should be fine on your skin without the sandwich method

Hello I bought the CeraVe renewing retinol from a local store and the texture is different from the video on TH-cam. It’s pure white and milky but on almost all videos it looks like it’s off white and a little bit thicker than mine… does it mean that mine is fake?
If you bought it from a local store it shouldn’t be fake as they should be a stockist of the brand. Consistencies can vary. Patch test first before using x
The Cerave Renewing retinol does have a different consistency then their Resurfacing retinol (the one in this video)--from what I've seen in other videos that compare the two. I've seen a few dermatologists on TH-cam say they prefer the resurfacing retinol.
I used sesderma retises 0.50 retinol for the first time for every other night for a week and i darkened my skin. What happened?

Totally fine for men to use all year round. It’s only applicable to women who are pregnant or breastfeeding to stop use :)

Take a shower/ steam your face before cleansing to open your pores. Thoroughly wash off the cleanser. Then use the serum. Only use one pump. DO NOT use it near your eyes, on your lips, or on the sides of your nose. Always use a moisturizer after. NEVER USE ACTIVE INGREDIENTS WITHOUT ALSO USING A MINERAL SUNSCREEN. DO NOT USE ACTIVE INGREDIENTS IF YOU ARE UNDER 12 AND NO SALICYLIC ACID IF YOU ARE UNDER 18 UNLESS PRESCRIBED BY A DERMATOLOGIST.

Smile lines are from your facial expressions, smiling/laughing. They are a good thing :) even if you decide to use anti aging products, you will still have smile lines. You can try the retinol, however start off slowly x

@@sinandemir7453 It's hard to know when we haven't analysed your skin or know your full skincare routine. But it sounds like you experienced purging when you started the cleanser and now after 4 weeks you skin is clearing up. I would wait to introduce anything else and see how your skin goes.
You can incorporate the retinol, but I would only do this 2 x a week to slowly introduce it.
You also need to be careful not to over exfoliate your skin as this will lead to an impaired skin barrier which can cause more problems. So If you do incorporate the retinol, I would try using a different cleanser without acids before hand (just on the days you use the retinol)
Opt for a lightweight gel moisturizer (no need to continue to add more exfoliating ingredients if you are already using the blemish control cleanser and retinol, just over doing it and will strip your skin)
