Not sure if you listen to any of Naval Ravikant but I thought his take on happiness on Joe Rogan podcast was interesting.
"Peace is happiness at rest, and happiness is peace in motion. You can convert peace to happiness any time you want, but peace is want you want most of the time…If you’re a peaceful person, anything you do will be a happy activity."

Read books, try new things that add value to your life don’t just piss your money up the wall, save as much as you can and invest it back into yourself

Thanks Joey D, just split up with my gf of 8 years (just before proposing) who basically only wanted attention for her depression and someone to moan at instead of actually making any changes to improve her situation (one of those that always has an excuse for anything) and after a month she's already found a new crutch to lean on which feels pretty fucking shitty but these videos really help me make sense of life and not being able to change others etc and living your own path vs living to help others when they won't help themselves

Great vid. The last ones spot on, as well with not having complete certainty that the scenario has unfolded the way it has due to your actions or sheer chance. Its almost like gambling, you can improve your chances to do well with smart betting but at the end of the day it's still random.
Another thing you mentioned about too many choices being bad I fully agree with. It closes you off to new experiences/ideas you wouldnt have exposed yourself to and from my own experience there's many times I've had to do things I wouldn't choose to do which have had a really positive impact a few years down the line even if they seemed completely pointless at the time.

This year has been pretty bad for me. GF dumped and cheated on me with my younger brother, house got robbed and my sentimental possession were stolen, got fired from my baking job because I was five mins late too often, someone vandalized my car and graphite on it and now to top it all off i'm turning 30 in a couple of weeks. I'm still happy because I have my health and my home gym and i'm still making gains.

A lesson learned should be a lesson shared, cheers.
Re #6 about "How" being more important than "What", I'd add the additional "Why" to provide another layer of depth. Nietzsche used to say "He who has a why can bear almost any how." Really important to be aware of what is driving our decisions, which more often than not turns out to be different to what we believed.

9:45 i'M GLAD I recognised that thinking twice and 'scaling' my first thoughts, to then polishing it for a better version of expressing the thoughts happened at 18 years old
maturity is key no matter how young you think you areXD

Joe that was great man thoroughly enjoyed watching and thinking about all the points you mentioned the third person perspective was the one that I could relate to the most, you are much much wiser than you think, enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Wow Joe.... this is the first video of yours that I have watched. Your video spoke volumes to me and I really agree with everything you said. I don't think you give yourself enough credit, I think you are wise beyond your years. Thanks so much for making this video. You seem like such a genuine, nice guy. I wish we were friends haha, you are definitely on my wave lenght. Much love from Ireland, Aoife x
