    "Sleepwalking through life."
Damn, I was never able to figure out how to word it. I always used "Complacent in life"...
This video reminded me it is actually OK to choose my own direction in life. I've always yielded to the belittling and degrading of others around me, living a life in their shadows and failures.
I have been living this way for 15 years. Not playing the victim but actually living life as if their opinions and demands - their perceptions are boundaries I can not live outside of bc nothing exists or is allowed to exist outside of their spoken / unspoken boundries.

It took me all of 37 years of my life and more than half of those years being a mom of eventual 6 kids, to get that “ah-ha!” moment of realization that there is a HUGE difference between just being busy and actually being productive! After that, it was a huge shift for me.
But you’re never ‘there’ especially when you’re only always ever chasing ‘getting there’ as a means of always trying to get ‘there’ where ever ‘there’ actually is.

    • @jesseboeker7636
      @jesseboeker7636 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

@@davidkovacic3422I think there may be a little more to her comment than what I'm about to say. But I can elaborate on the first half. Many people make the mistake of busy work and it gets them nowhere. For example- Two people have an office for their business. One stays in the office everyday and says "I need to clean my desk. If any clients come in I also need to vacuum. I don't want them to see an non vacuumed floor. I also need to repaint my office" and he spends all his days like that. The other says "I need clients. I'm going to advertise, call, and go out and offer my services. I'll spend 95% of my time getting clients until I have enough work and only 5% cleaning the office." The second one was actually doing activities that would get him where he wants to be. The first one is doing things that are essentially doing nothing for him. He's putting icing on a cake that isn't ready. The first will always wonder why the second is doing so much better because they both work the same amount. But one is busy and the other is productive!

This was great. The 4 questions were truly a godsend in what I needed to refocus. I appreciate that. And again, bravo on the video style and quality although some of the continuity gaffs made me twitch but I get it ;) Thinking about them now, they're actually a nice touch in that they break up "too much" linear viewing. Hmmmm, something to ponder. :)

you are the only 'get more done in one week than one-year' style TH-camr I watch, normally its never useful but you are a shining exception.

Thanks, Clark. I’ve done so much to improve the way I think, my discipline, and my habits, but this video helped me understerstand something very important.
Having to think about something I would stop doing this year to make my life better has helped me realize that I’m very dishonest still about the way I feel.
It took me forever to start getting up earlier because I always stayed up watching whatever on the discord share, and I grew tired of the mindless entertainment. I worked up the courage one day to just switch my bedtime, but I never really truly explained why. I also say I handle fun at hang outs even if I didn’t. I also give a half truth when I explain why I don’t want to do something.
I can’t blame people for seeing me a certain way and expecting me to be certain ways when I am never honest with them. I’m not living the life I want to because I lie and say that I’m ok with the life that I’m not ok with.

I must compliment the vibe. It's rare to see a video with sufficient value that's not ruined by that cringeworthy "aggressive self-improvement" format we're getting bombarded with.

Thank you for such an insightful video. I'm setting up my Motion calendar and was scrolling for a video to play in the background and yours came up. Since I was already engaged in one activity, i recruited chat gpt to answer your questions for me. And yes, chat gpt knows way too much about me (Factor Five, MBTI, goals, plans, career and pivots and family life, etc). anyway, i received some excellent responses that deeply resonated with me. Thank you again and wishing you all the best!

As a 38 year old who feels the same, you aren’t in the youth. I will tell you what I say to myself on a daily basis: you just need to get your shit together and be an adult. Let go of the childish bullshit, grow up, and once again: get your shit together.

These questions have just triggered my brain so much (…shame it’s 12.32am and I’ve got to get up in 5 hours!..) but super happy I came across this!
Why is it we can offer the best advice to someone else, whether it be a family member, friend or total stranger. Advice coupled with empathy, respect with totally genuine ideas or suggestions to help them move forward, yet find ourselves in a frozen state, mentally & physically, unable to make sense of anything or be able to nudge sideways let alone forwards! Part of my job is to be the supportive role, which I do without a second thought, but as for advising myself? I need to sack myself, answer your 4 questions, then re-apply for my role of me again and have another go!
Like you said this hits home with an added slap round the back of the head…absolutely & totally what I needed to see right now!
Thank you so very much! 🙏

With all due respect are you yourself really being fearless and going for it as if you could not fail. By doing the same thing "creating videos for the last 12 years on TH-cam" .
But absolutly great questions you gave.
