Everything else is pretty much correct but he's wrong about recomp and you don't need a macro ratio to lose fat/get shredded especially for a "skinny fat" individual that doesn't have much lifting experience
I would say that if you're watching this and can't even invest 18 minutes of your life in educating yourself on your current situation, your current body is what you gonna get. Watch the video, invest time educating yourself. It'll take longer than 18 minutes to make a positive change your body.
The simple way to explain skinny fat is a person that looks skinny clothed, and 'fat'/'soft' naked. Skinny people can actually see the muscles when naked, they are just small/flat muscles
@@Supermario19001 Every healthy skinny person has some muscle - muscles are required to walk or move in general. As the other commenter stated, it's just very minimal muscle mass in comparison to someone who lifts consistently.
So I'm skinny not too much muscle but look skinny muscular with a faint top abs showing but a pot belly (beer) looking like 3 months pregnant. Skinny fat? Literally only my belly which has fat
@@brandonbr3796 That is the definition of skinny fat. A lot of men only put visible fat on their belly (at least at first), whilst having skinny arms/legs, which is where "skinny-fat" came from. You're not skinny fat if that explains you though, just a bit chubby with little muscle.

My weight on the scales has stayed more or less the same but my body fat percentage has been steadily decreasing. Several people have commented about the difference already. Trust the process! Cheers, Joe, I've been stuck for too long.
Here's a super basic rule of thumb I like to use: Diet controls your size and exercise controls your shape. If you aren't super big or super small, just soft and saggy, then no diet will help you. You need to get stronger. If you have a great shape to your body but you're just not as big as you want to be, or you're bigger than you want to be, no workout will help you. You need to change your diet.
Good advice, worked for me. 5 years ago I was skinny then I decided to focus on the main compound lifts. Low rep heavy weight and it made a huge difference for me. Coming from a person that use to be skinny fat, I literally just went to a pescatarian diet for about 3 months and did nothing but swim. I swam for 1 hour every day. Not relaxing in the pool but doing back to back laps switching between legs and arms ONLY. The entire point isn't to lose weight per se, but to lose the excess fat build up. I went from a 180 skinny fat, to a relatively fit 165. After I got to my desired weight, I hit the gym. Dropped swimming altogether, kept the pescatarian diet and added 1 day of eating anything minus sugar. No sugar. It shaved off a lot of fat and definitely saw definition night and day. In short, I didn't immediately hit the gym. I went 3 months just swimming and dieting. That's it. I like your simple way of explaining stuff and how you neither sugarcoat peoples ego, nor bullshit us. "If this is the result you want then this is what you need to do, no more no less"
For me, I would recommend when your bulking do a surplus. And when your cutting do a deficit. You still want to have the same amount of protein for both, but when your cutting you just eat a shorter amount of calories then bulking.
I was very obese up until the age of 20. I lost 6+ stone then built muscle. I got injured in the military and gained a significant amount of the weight back.. maybe 3-4 and stone from my leanest. One thing I will say is I look less fat now at 14-15 stone as I did my last time at this weight due to actually having muscle mass. I'm still far from a fitness model aha but it really did help. Back to hard training now 💪.
Those 6 exercises are EXACTLY what I do... + bridges for ab work + bicep curls at the end of one of my workouts because penlay rows and pull ups don't hit them quite hard enough
Totally the opposite of Gravity Transformation. Sometimes I come off Gravity Transformation and wonder what I just listened to. This kinda just breaks it down and makes it all relatable
Im soo glad you made a video on this, soo many youtubers claimed they "had it rough just like us" when in fact they all started relatively athletic/lean. I was a runner for 10 years( marathon, half marathon ) and then happened to work in an office.
Started exercise less and less and eating more and more shitty fast food and stuff.
I gained probably 20-30 kg plus on my body and had this little belly and sidefat on my mainbody( or how you call it sorry my neglish is not so perfect ).
It comes down due to my low activity sicne that, my lot of food intake, and even tho I was a bit happy about it because I always was so freaking skinny due to the running( except my legs ), now its getting to be out of hand.
So Im a bit worried about myself and not happy about how I look and this vid just popped to my recommenditions, so Joe thank you.
Helped a lot, and just gained more strenght to start it.
Gained( hahahah :D ) a sub from me.
Take care from Hungary. :)
That pic u used for the beer drinker looks just like my dad
Savage content mate as per, keep it up lad .
?? Yea of course a bulk by definition is a surplus and a cut by definition is a deficit. You cant cut while in a surplus or bulk in a deficit.
most helpful fitness video I've ever watched in my life. Props
I didnt expect this video to be as funny as it was
Quarantine got me skinny fat again. Feelsbadman. Going to roll the dice and resume gym diligence, starting today.
Bro, I'm 35 and my best lifting days are definitely not behind....ouch, my knee!
I lost a little bit of motivation there lol
i nevet felt older then now after that sentence (34 yrs old)
lol the Doritos bag in the vortex image!!!!! 😂
You've got bloody neat whiteboard writing!
3:08 "getting on a big, ruthless, filthy cycle mate." :D
I was very obese up until the age of 20. I lost 6+ stone then built muscle. I got injured in the military and gained a significant amount of the weight back.. maybe 3-4 and stone from my leanest. One thing I will say is I look less fat now at 14-15 stone as I did my last time at this weight due to actually having muscle mass. I'm still far from a fitness model aha but it really did help.
Back to hard training now 💪.
6:02 "Skinny fat vortex of doom, that you currently residing" got me shitting my bed :D
Ive got some muscle underneath but im definitely hanging on to a lot more fat than i want to
Those 6 exercises are EXACTLY what I do... + bridges for ab work + bicep curls at the end of one of my workouts because penlay rows and pull ups don't hit them quite hard enough
Basically lift and diet
Totally the opposite of Gravity Transformation. Sometimes I come off Gravity Transformation and wonder what I just listened to. This kinda just breaks it down and makes it all relatable
“When ya grab em they jiggle a bit m8”
-Joey D.
Im soo glad you made a video on this, soo many youtubers claimed they "had it rough just like us" when in fact they all started relatively athletic/lean. Its kind of annoying to see in transformation videos no going to lie, as they all looked good in the before pic lol. The term skinny fat is way too overused.
