I have a ‘21 F350, 7.3l , 3.73 rear. Tow a 8400# tt. In 14k of towing thru the PNW hills & mtns I’ve averaged 10.3. The best was 13mpg ( flat 50 mph leg) & worst was 7mpg ( good sized headwind). Usually at 62-64 mph. Currently one leg of this trip is at 10.7 mpg going up the Gorge. Only a very few trips empty but ~17 -17.5 mpg at 65 mph. 11-13 city. Very pleased with those results.
@@Marc1973Dez dually does way more 7 it depends on your foor, traffic, stop & go & .... In years back I had several F250's with 3 or 4spd tranny's. They'd get 10 empty, 10 ful, 10 on the hwy, 10 in the city. Didn't matter it was always 10. I drove loaded with a slide in camper at 50mph on a fairly flat hwy during a gas shortage. got 10.1. Drove back at 60 (legal limit) got 10.
Thanks for this update. I’ve been looking for a review with the 4.30’s out back and this helps a lot. Much appreciated. Love the Godzilla videos! Keep them coming
Absolutely love our 2020 7.3 lariat F350 supercab 8’ bed 4x4. Has 4,300lb payload, 3.73 gears tows our 8,000lb rv effortlessly but is a thirsty pig at 7-10 while towing. Not towing it gets about 14-15mpg’s and super damn comfortable.
I know you've bought and traded a lot of vehicles. In your opinion, how long (mileage) should I keep my new work trucks before trading them? I want to keep reliable vehicles for my business, but I also don't want to be getting rid of them before I've achieved optimal use. FYI, my trucks are gmc 6.6 gassers. Hope you reply. Love the channel!
I have a '24 CCLB with 4:30 gears. My mileage is in the ballpark of yours. More than half my miles are towing a 10k fifth wheel and it gets about 10.2mpg towing that. City driving mileage is pretty bad, down in the 9.5 area. That's urban city stop and go type traffic. But that's okay, I did not buy it to drive around the city. It actually does better mileage towing the trailer at highway speed than it does empty in the stop and go city. Great truck for towing and we love it. I have only run RUL, which is mostly 87 octane.
I have a new 2024 F250 XL Supercab short bed 4x4 with the XL Off-Road and FX4 packages. At 70 it’s averaging 16.5 mpg. At 55-60 its average is 17.9-18.3 mpg. It’s got 4010 miles on it. Very impressive truck and engine.
@retiredafce3373 that's really good mileage. If you don't mind me asking what rear ratio do you have. I think the fx4 is the package I would get next over a tremor.
@@automotiveinquiries9673 with the XL Off-Road package, it came with the 3.73 electric locking rear differential. It’s very similar of package to the Tremer minus a couple things like the suspension lift and front locking differential. Also it comes with 33” Goodyear Duratrak tires.
I have a 22 F-350 with the 7.3L, and 3.73 gearing. Hand calculated over the last 18K miles I'm averaging 12.3 with a mixture of towing, and city driving. Simply running around town as my daily driver I consistently get around 12.5 - 13.5. Again, hand calculated using the "Fuelly" app each fill up. I've noticed my lie-o-meter is off by .5 - .8 mpg saying I got better than I actually did.
Have a 2021 f350 Tremor w/4.30 with the transflow 58 gallon tank. I get about 750 miles per fill up. When towing the 14k 5th wheel…just a little over 400 miles. I live in NV so everything is mountains.
Just got my 2021 F550 back. The dreaded lifter failure. 60,000 miles. Replaced the long block. Under warranty. Getting 10.7 mpg and weighing 15,500 lbs of mountain driving.
I traded my 2020 Ram 2500 Cummins for a 2024 Ford F-250 Lariat trim with 7.3 Godzilla with 3.73 gearing, love this truck so far. Do not miss the diesel at all. I’ve never been a ford guy but this truck seems way more refined.
Just bought one of these monsters. 2024 F250 Tremor 4.30. Seeing 15mpg empty on highway (will this get better, i only have 180 miles on it?), also for the 'average mpg' screen, can you choose the distance the average is for? My chevy lets me pick 25,50,100 miles to see my average
@samfrench959 congrats on the new rig. I think 15 is excellent and I've only seen 14.5 best. That being said, depending on options and extra weight that can affect mpgs. I always have my hitch and chains and gear in back so about 800 lbs of extra stuff. Plus mine is a lariat ultimate so extra weight for that junk. As for the average, you can reset it whenever or use the trips but the Super duties don't do the per drive like f150s or the per miles like they used to.
Do you think this truck will fit on me. I tow about 15000 per year about 10000 pound. And I put a little over 25000 mile per My 19 tundra pro. Never let me down I am looking for the upgrade please answer Thanks.
@khonesavanhchandara7044 absolutely, if a tundra is getting it done the 7.3 in a 250 or 350 Will definitely handle it with no issues. At 10k lbs, I'd say 3.73 locker and you'll be good without grabbing the 4.30. But if you need an off road truck then you can also opt for the tremor. But if you don't off road, I'd do the fx4 package and it would be good.
My Godzilla powered class c just took a dump and is getting replaced under warranty at 31k miles. Just pay for the diesel if you have the option..or better yet go Cummins
