lol it’s funny because that basically sums up the chapter. What kind of madness is happening! 😂 Thanks for commenting brother, now let’s post this thing all over the internet and get some “traction” on this video. Look forward to future conversations with ya brother.
Just imagine if they went out into those fields of brand new vehicles that are slated for destruction or whatever and just gave a card to everybody in the United States they could do that and they could clear out their land to put more cars that they’re not gonna sell
Johnny, my gosh you are right. The banking industry is wild with what they get away with. I think Henry Ford said something along the lines of “ if Americans knew how the banking industry worked, they would immediately tear it down and burn it” don’t quote me exactly but that’s what he was getting at. Thanks for commenting and if you like this video, I made another one similar to this about Jeep if you haven’t seen it. Check it out and let me know which video you like more jeep or Ford video. Have a great start to your week Johnny. P.S. is your last name chaos? if so, you should become a professor.
Hey brother, welcome back! Glad to see you are sticking with the content. And yes, I remember when they announced that and I too knew it was a bad idea. Correct me if I am wrong, but didn't they announce that when gas prices were high too lol? Congrats on your vindication, you should spread this video around proving your vindication. This video is based on facts, so it would only help your argument. Thanks again my friend, I look forward to future conversations with you. -Brandon
@@A-BombEnergy Keep it up with the content man, the quality is amazing and you're killing it! Yes it was near the very end of the Obama administration if I remember correctly. The final model year for the Fusion however (the last car they made) was 2018 if I'm again remembering correctly.
The company that put America on Wheels with the Model T no longer makes cars. Wars over. We lost. The Fords Love being NFL owners. Couldn't care less about the dying auto industry. Watch the game...
Bread and circus is real. Jeep is doing the same thing. I am not sure if you watched my Jeep video but if this one tickled your fancy, give that one a look and let me know what you think. I am curious which one you would like more... -Brandon
One of the big things not talked about is demographics. By getting rid of cars from their lineup, they're hemoraging younger buyers who are flocking to Toyota, Honda, and Hyundai. Those are future customers that Ford won't have in the future. As people get older their buying power increaces, meaning that as Gen Z gets older they won't be buying Explorers and F150s, they'll be buying Tacomas and Acuras. Ford is ironically following in the footsteps of Harley Davidson.
Jacob, you bring up an excellent point and I will use this when I do a series on "Death of the American Car" (may not be the title of the video but it will be something similar). Ford seems to be only focused on government and fleet sales. I really think they give zero care for their main customers and only about easy sales. Gen Z buyers are gonna go to foreign brands hands down. I know one Gen Z dude who has American and he LOVES trucks and so he owns a GM. Makes sense. What do you think we can do to fix this issue Jacob? I look forward to hearing from you. I hope you have a great day my friend. -Brandon
I said the same thing when GM got rid of Pontiac instead of Buick. Pontiac was basically the American equivalent to Scion and would keep younger buyers interested in GM. Instead they kept a mid-luxary brand whose primary buyer was retirement age and has had to have a continuous ad campaign trying to rebrand Buick as something younger people might want ever since.
Tacoma instead of F-150? Aren't they both pickup trucks? So, they have $$$ for a Tacoma, but not a Maverick or even Ranger? As F-150 is equivalent to Tundra.
You nailed it brother, they sure did make a mistake there. If they just kept making sedans and made them more reliable and cost effective, holy cow they would dominate the market. What do you think? -Brandon
Sharion (beautiful name btw), I think you are correct. I seriously hope we can somehow turn that around. Automobiles industry is so important to not just me but the economy. I want everyone to succeed. Any suggestions how we can help? Thanks for commenting Sharion, let’s put this video in 4WD and plaster it all over the internet, I need your help for it to get traction so get out and lock my hubs and let’s go (bad dad joke, forgive me but I’m a new dad lol). I look forward to hearing from you soon. -Brandon
American cars have already become malaise. Where, instead of offering plenty of affordable and underwhelming cars available of all kinds with , you have a handful of cool premium vehicles that no one can afford and everyone is buying korean or japanese. And of those special vehicles, a good chunk of them are track/offroad toys, enourmous SUVs and electric luxury cars that are already on their way out.
@@A-BombEnergy Surprise, surprise, if you build shitty tools people aren't going to like you. Automobiles are INSANELY costly. The cost is SO high that people are wondering if the cost is worth it. Automobiles have altered human society, the big 3 have meddled not only with governments around the world, but the very way we as humans live and interact, and I think people are just fed up with it. The pros that automobiles offer seem to be losing its luster. People are generally becoming smarter, and people want better quality of life which automobiles might not be offering anymore. For a tool to be valuable, it has to not be a burden. Would anyone buy a hammer that constantly breaks, costs a huge mark up? No.... If you want people to LOVE cars you have to make card LOVEABLE. You to make tools that are affordable, reliable first and foremost before anything else. If people are in debt and can't reliably get to work or to important events then people will become bitter no matter what you make. I can kinda respect Henry Ford, but even he was shady and did some bad shit. Automobiles are so greedy and complex that they are inherently built on exploitation. Beyond Henry Ford, the big 3 have screwed the American people for like a century now.
It was one of the dumbest moves to stop making the cars like first focus and fusion . What were those clowns thinking ? The trucks are way to expensive and get bad fuel mileage I don’t want to own an overpriced truck with every luxury function known to man .
Dave, yes, I remember when Ford announced that they were going to stop the production of their smaller line of cars. I remember thinking to myself that is not a good idea. Not everyone an SUV but the point of them doing that to make more money. And if I remember correctly, they announce that gas prices were crazy high?? What do you think? Thanks for commenting, Dave. I hope you have a great rest of your Sunday. -Brandon
Don't forget that not too long ago the F150 was of a sensible size and price. What they have now, the tires are so large the whole truck must be made bigger. Contractors who actually need pickup trucks are looking for older models that can carry things and not a vehicle so overpriced.
I have seen people buying the older former government vehicles because they’re cheaper and smaller. I believe there is a website where you can purchase used government fleet vehicles. However, the big question is then reliability because I don’t think those vehicles are well taken care of 😂
The US Auto Industry is going the same way as the British Auto Industry in the 1990s and 2000s, when many of its great brands were sold to BMW (Rolls Royce, Mini, Land Rover/Range Rover), Volkswagen (Bentley), Ford (Jaguar, Land Rover, Aston Martin), SAIC (MG). Later on, Tata (Land Rover, Range Rover, and Jaguar), Bahrain (McLaren), Geely (Lotus), and a bunch of investors for Aston Martin. Ford might remain American, but General Motors will probably be sold to the Chinese, and Dodge and Chrysler will be gone. We are currently undergoing “The American Disease.” Poor management, poor quality, bad labor relations, the lack of innovation inside the Big 3, and short sighted decision making.
Brother, everything that you just stated I completely agree with. I was very sad to learn that the British car industry went the way it went. I know some people don’t like British cars, but I absolutely love them. in fact, I love most cars. They are all unique and have a special DNA to them. If you had to pick one brand of cars, what would you choose? Thanks for commenting in if you have any further suggestions on future content, please let me know. Go Manchester United. -Brandon
@@A-BombEnergyA fan of Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Aston Martin, Ferrari, Maserati, Land Rover/Range Rover, Jaguar, Rolls Royce, Bentley, and Honda. The best American Car ever is the Mustang especially the classics (Shelby GT350s and GT500s and Mustang Fastbacks 1967-1968), beautiful and powerful. Corvette is something cool but the European sports cars just look more classy and beautiful. My generation (Gen Z) once we get the money will be buying foreign luxury cars. I could see both Cadillac and Lincoln going out because Mercedes, BMW, Audi, and Lexus have a large portion of the luxury market along with a rising Genesis, Porsche, and Acura (Honda reliability). People are buying Toyotas, Hondas, Nissans, Subarus, Hyundais/KIAs, and Mazdas for affordability and reliability. People trust Toyotas and Hondas because they run forever.
The same happened in Australia. It’s all gone including the associated parts manufacturing, engineering talent, designers ect. Dodge and Chrysler have already gone, they’re now part of Stellantis.
Absolutely he would. He made the first affordable car and what’s happening is going against that mantra. What can we do to solve this issue? More awareness by these types of videos? The market will have to correct itself. -Brandon
Ripping article / video! Totally agree with the corporate incompetence- they take no responsibility for their errors then ask the govt to help on the pretense of saving jobs then send manufacturing overseas. Then we get inferior cheaply made “ mutton dressed as Lamb” cars and an increased price. These incompetent corporate management types should be jailed and their assets seized to repay the debt.
Burt, yeah brother it’s pretty sad. So I’ve been to almost every continent (except Antarctica) and you barely see American cars and if you do see them, it’s more than likely a military guy. Where I’m at in America, I see more foreign cars than American. Thanks for commenting Burt, now let’s put this video in 4WD and plaster it all over the internet to get it some traction. I look forward to future conversations with you Burt. -Brandon
The problem for a lot of consumers is that the auto makers used to make a sensible car and no longer do. For example, Ford had the Escort, the Taurus, and for large families the Country Squire and Crown Victoria, with Lincoln for the expensive sedans and a reasonable size pickup truck. Why didn't they keep making that? Not enough money?
That is a very good question my friend. And it’s one that bothers me a lot, especially with how much money they waste on other projects. I really hope that this video can get more traction and be shared out more by you awesome viewers because I feel that it is the only way there will be some sort of change. What do you think the solution is for the automotive industry? Thanks for commenting brother and have a great rest of your Sunday.
@A-BombEnergy The solution is to stop giving these private companies public money and just let them run themselves. NOBODY should be able to depend on john Taxpayer to fund private companies' interest. No company should be "too big to fail." If they fail they fail. If they want to expand get a bank loan, or put in your own cash. Did they ever get rid of the worthless middle manager positions in these companies when times get tough? How many times have these companies said that a raise isn't feasible while paying out millions to the ceo? Run your company however you like take your risk. The regular man isn't going to be your safety net.
I can’t argue a single thing in this point. You are spot on brother. It’s freaking wild how they are getting away with this. I hope this video will help move the needle towards the right direction. The more eyes that see it, the better chance we have. What do you think? Should we blast this video to the winds of the internet? Thanks again for commenting brother.
You know these are loans, right? Corporations pay back taxpayers with interest. It's only when a corp. goes bankrupt that the taxpayer doesn't get their money back. The reason why most companies start in the USA is because other countries throw people in prison who can't pay their debts, including rent, car and credit card payments, so people over there don't even try. And Henry Ford was not a patriot. He was a Nazi sympathizer who said he wasn't going to change production for the war effort. FDR had to force nationalizing Ford. Only then did Henry Ford capitulate to keep family control of Ford instead of having the govt control his company. You people need to study history.
The 40% increase in pickup prices since 2019. Is not going to help them. Henry Ford built his business on providing vehicles for the common man not building vehicles only for the rich!!
Brad, you are totally correct. Thank you for highlighting this point. In my Jeep video I showed car prices historically and used an inflation calculator and it only proved my point that these automakers are just trying to rinse people for as much money as they can. What do you think we can do to solve this problem? I am not sure if refusing to buy from them is enough (hence these videos). Thanks for commenting Brad, I look forward to hearing from you, have a great day. -Brandon
I really liked Ford when I was a kid. I expected the first new car I would buy to be a Focus ST. When they discontinued their passenger cars I felt betrayed, and have hated Ford ever since then.
I am really sorry that Ford turned their back on you. so many others feel that way hence the reason for this video. I too feel like they turned their back on me. What are your thoughts on Jeep? I am not sure if you’ve seen it yet, but I did a video similar to this on Jeep. If you have seen it, let me know which video you liked more. Thanks for commenting my friend and have a great start to your week. -Brandon
I don't understand something. Majority of buyers want crossovers, so they respond to that demand. Then, we hear crying how they're betraying people for a product they don't want. ??????????? Why would they discontinue something that sells well?
@@bmw803 it’s a farce. Buyers are only buying crossovers because that’s all that’s available. They stopped selling sedans because they couldn’t match regulatory demands for the segment. But if you sell a “crossover” then you technically meet the regulatory requirements. Check out those laws, it’s a pretty wild. -Brandon
@@A-BombEnergy Today, yes, but why would any company discontinue a product that sells. Makes no sense, BUT I wouldn't be surprised that they still would do STOOPID decisions. If BOLT owners and many TH-cam journalists, such as Kyle Conner didn't make noise, the BOLT would be gone. MERRY MARY must have received LOTS of heat and realized, "hey update it and listen to the customer". At least a decision well made. You gotta make noise with those idiots.
@@bmw803 they would discontinue a product that sells if they can trick people into wanting something more profitable. Why do you think so many people want a pickup truck when most will never use it for anything it's designed for? They convinced people they were the "cool automotive heratige of our country, and it makes you a tough rugged person", so people drop luxury prices on a work truck that can haul more weight than everything they own. Added benefits for the manufacturer are lower emissions standards, less competition from foreign companies, and higher profit margins. It's all marketing that makes us think we all want larger cars.
The thing that has always stuck to me about ford is the fact that when Ford has an reliable, cheap and not a bad car which is loved by many it gets killed immediatly and not returned with a newer and better generation. Maybe it's just a Ford Europe thing.
It’s pretty wild isn’t it? They used to make cars that weren’t like a Toyota Corolla reliability but they are close. My sister had a Ford Focus for the longest time and that thing wouldn’t die and I’m pretty sure she changed the oil like every 20,000 miles. What do you think Fords future will be in the US?
@@A-BombEnergy No idea mate though I am sure that there will be a time when pickup trucks like fords will be a dead trend and that will hit them really hard. Though I am a hardcore Ford Europe so I might not have the full answer to it. But if you compare the old Ford europe to todays Ford europe it's quite the tragedy. So many good models that had huge potential for a new generation gone. Sure the courier is interesting but there isn't much else other than the vans and mediocre crossovers.
Yeah man I think you are totally right, Ford Europe is not even close to what they could be. I was just in Germany a few months ago and some Europeans I talked to said they didn't like American cars because the quality. I always figured BMW was worse but then they schooled me hard...hence why I have an M340i now lol. Maybe one day these companies can get it together. Thanks for the response brother. Are you in the UK?
@@A-BombEnergy Im from Sweden I have grown up with Ford mondeos. And despite them being good cars they have had problems like with the flexifuel engine. Which couldnt even handle what it was built for which was running on both ethanol and gasoline. It could only run on gasoline completely fine whilst if it ran on ethanol it would lead to the engine clogging up. Not on the first time ofc. But you know it's pretty bad. Then there is the issue with the position lights on the 2016 mondeo as in they are fragile and a nightmare to replace. The mechanics who had to deal with it said it was awful and they literally had to remove alot of the front of the car itself just to replace them. Otherwise besides the mediocre interior build quality I still love them. And the same goes for older europe fords.
Thats awesome, I love Sweden, you have a beautiful country. I am not surprised to hear that with the position lights. I don't get why some engineers decide, let me make this impossible to replace unless half the car is taken apart! Haha. I feel bad for the mechanics who have to suffer through that. We live in a Corpo Fascist Oligarchy. It is a control economy, where the opinion of the customer is not at all important. Why would they care what we want when they are just going to be bailed out by their oligarch investors with funny money?
Pretty wild isn’t it? I want our awesome companies to go back to being awesome. I would never get a bailout for my company…so why should they? How do you think specifically we can turn the ship for the auto industry? Awareness? Maybe everyone buys foreign? Essentially that’s what I’m doing. Thanks for commenting, have a great rest of your weekend!
Yup. American car buyers are absolutely brainwashed and will go through absurd mental gymnastics to make excuses for these companies whose CEOs wouldn't piss on them if they were on fire.
It’s a cycle. Short profits above all else, and when it finally crashes, the taxpayer will bail you out. There is no free market. Just an oligarchy masked as a free marker. When you really look into it you’ll discover everything is owned by a single company..
Ive noticed this to...companies are trying to dictate the interaction between customer and company more and more and more and then it backfires and they lose billions and act like they dont know what happened. They literally dont seem to care what the customer wants anymore at all.
I remember hearing a story about a state trooper who had a second job, installing garage doors. His truck was going bad and he needed another one. He was part of the "Buy American" crowd. WAS being a key word and you'll find out why in a minute. Went to the Dodge dealership. The Rams were very expensive, including the thirsty V8's. Tried to negotiate, they said the price is firm. Goes to a Chevy dealership. Parks in "Customers ONLY" space. Someone tells him to move the vehicle. He tells him he is a customer; he's shopping for a new car. They still tell him he can't park there: he leaves. Goes to a Ford dealership. Salesmen can't be bothered with him and can't get an appointment for a test drive. Flashes the badge and police ID and asks if he can test drive alone. He's a COP - not like he's going to steal the truck or anything. "Nope, no can do. Salesmen MUST accompany customers. Guy goes to a Toyota dealership. Sees the new Tacomas. They're 6 cylinders, he wants a V8. Saleswoman said "they're as fast and as powerful as a V8. Drive it with the air conditioning on (A.C. saps engine horsepower). Try it for a week; we'll have a mechanic throw in a bed liner. You like it, come in and we'll talk numbers." The truck cost $40,000. Unbeknownst to anybody, he already had $30,000 in CASH. The week he used the truck, he got the remaining $10,000. Showed up at the Toyota dealership, bought the truck, told her the story. He said he usually doesn't buy imports, but he gave the Big 3 a chance and they all blew it. Now he says he's either sticking with Toyota or any Japanese car company.
had a similar experience a decade ago when I needed a new car with zero credit. Everybody turned me down they were all ignorant and snobish SOB's. Nobody gave me chance so I went into a nissan dealer and walked out with a used sentra. This was over 11 yrs ago. Built my credit from there and bought a frontier since.
@@A-BombEnergy I saved $5,000 in interest simply by paying off my car in 2 years with a hefty down payment. Car note was $200/mth; I paid double and threw the Christmas money and IRS checks on top. Times were a little tight those two years, but after the title deed arrived in the mail, the dough flowed back into my pocket.
Excellent video! A lot of the problem with American auto manufacturers is they are not listening to what their customers want, need, and can afford. $50,000 plus for a pickup is absolutely insane.
Mark, you are 100% correct in that. If they just built what 99% of what their customers wanted. Wow…Would they be the biggest and most dominant auto company. Dang brother, a lot of people I think have been sensing this and interpreting the data. Aren’t many of the Japanese brands made in the United States? But I think that Toyota is transitioning some of their production to Mexico if I am thinking correctly. Truth back as far as the 90's. Had a 91 Ford Escort POS, made in Mexico. The only reason it still ran is because it had a Mazda designed engine., Currently still have my 97 Honda Civic, made in the USA.

J, thanks for commenting brother! Yeah its pretty wild why they would get rid of the affordable car segment but then say "hey, were gonna make ev cars." What kind of logic is that haha. I think there are only two categories keeping Ford alive, the F-150 buyers and taxpayers 🤣 Thanks for commenting my brother, now lets put this video in 4WD and blast it all over the internet, I need your help to get it more traction (bad dad joke, but I am a new dad sooo I am allowed...right?) Thanks man, it gives me bad memories and I know it does to others. I’m glad you have watched multiple videos of mine, I hope I’ve won you over my friend. -Brandon
You're ignoring the most important player in this whole drama: The Environmental Protection Agency. The EPA is deliberately forcing gas/diesel vehicles into extinction with their unachievable CAFE requirements, and shoving EVs down our throats. The automakers can't satisfy both the EPA's rules and customers' desires, which is why we have such a screwed up auto market, from whatever angle you look at.
I hear you and totally agree with most of what you say. My only rebuttal is how is Toyota, Honda, Subaru, VW, BMW, and many other car brands able to compete in market? I think Toyota has got to be the only manufacturer not leaning into EVs and I think that’s awesome. They see the writing on the wall. From my research and correct me if I’m wronged brother, but these American brands are doing this because they take so much govt. money that they have to create EVs and do exactly what they say or the subsidy hose gets turned off. What do you think of this? I wish I could do a video on these topics but certain factors are at play and I’ll leave it at that 😂. Thanks for commenting and have a great week. -Brandon
@@A-BombEnergy I think the answer lies in between the video points and the EPA... if the govt (here in Canada and in the USA with you) would stop being so involved with tampering with market forces and blanket banning things that are the only functional and usable technology at scale for 90% of people (ICE vehicles), then things would go much better. Even the EV crowd has to admit that there are enough people who like Teslas that the EV market won't just evaporate any time soon. When the tech is ready, the prices come down to where I can afford it, and I can be sure the batteries do not have blood cobalt in them, then and only then will I buy a second car which is an EV and keep my manual transmission gas car for the weekends and road trips... but seeing as how I'm rather poor, I figure that by the time I have the cash for that, then the major issues will be more or less solved and it will basically be choosing a drive train for how you use the vehicle (short jaunts=EV, Long or heavy work or without access to chargers=ICE).
@@A-BombEnergy I don't think the domestic brands were ever good at making small engines where the Asian companies have been making these engines the entire time they've existed. But I think now we're even seeing those brands hit the wall. Toyota had to switch from naturally aspirated to turbocharged and made a huge flop of it so far.
@@A-BombEnergy- No, they’re going all-in on EVs because they saw the dominance & profitability of Tesla. The Tesla Model Y is the best selling car in the world. Nobody wants to be the next BlackBerry. The thing is - everyone knows electrification is inevitable, but nobody knows when & how it’ll happen. But I feel legacy automakers are providing a sub-part EV experience (every charging network outside the Tesla network sucks) for too much money. There’s too much talk about government overreach when this is simply a case of private companies building products that don’t meet market expectations. It’s not the EPA’s fault the Lightning is overpriced and has a lousy charging network. And the dealers suck, though they’re sitting on a sea of unsold gas/diesel vehicles.
The main takeaway I see is government intervention. If Ford was not bailed out they would have either A. Gone bankrupt and died as a company. B. Actually kick themselves in the ass again and get back to serving the customer. But na, big daddy government needs to put their slimy hands into everything we have.
Yeah man, I totally agree. I didn’t want this video to come off as anti-government assistance or really negative. The video was made out of love for the Ford motor company. It seems that all domestic manufactures are expecting handouts. I know that my business (energy drinks and video editing) would never get a handout if it failed. @@dishsoap1 I don’t believe it’s the governments business to be giving out loans. It’s still government aid, which is still a bailout even if they paid it back (they also have taken out another one anyways so the point is mute.)
Yeah man it seems to be a common trend within the industry to try to revive these old iconic models/trends and absolutely ruin what they stand for. It’s such a shame. People love these brands and it doesn’t have to be like this. What do you think of Jeeps recent activity? I did a video on them and it’s an interesting dichotomy. It made some people super mad and some people happy someone is drawing attention to these issues. Thanks for commenting brother and I hope you have a great day. -Brandon
@@A-BombEnergy yeah Jeep is a shame. They’re way too much money for way too little vehicle and ever since Chrysler obtain them they’ve gone downhill from the old AMC days I think if AMC could’ve held out and stayed in business with the Jeep the dates still be around today, if only to sell jeeps, and other SUVs based on the jeep chassis, more than likely.
Haha landboat, nice term. What are you thinking of getting specifically? How many miles do you have on your Fusion? If you like the size of the Fusion, Toyota Camry would be a good ride I think. I am surprised at some of the warranties that Korean brands are offering. In my previous video, which was on Jeep, I showed some of the crazy support they are offering to their customers. Makes even more sense why the American sector is failing. Check out the video on Jeep, its similar to this one. I would be curious to know which one you like better. It would really help me improve the product for you guys. Thanks for commenting, have a great start to the week. -Brandon
I have an escape. It's not a massive land boat. I would much prefer to have a little SUV like this to a sedan. I will probably never buy another sedan in my life. The cargo carrying capacity of a hatchback is far superior to a sedan. When I go camping I can put on my gear in there. Prior to this escape, I had a Toyota matrix. I threw a water heater in it once. It has all the capabilities of a sedan but then you can fold the seats down and you'll get room to put things.
Another stupid decision was the discontinuation of the Ford Edge which had been built in Oakville Ontario since 2007 and ended just this May of 2024. It was a solid SUV and has many loyal buyers who had bought several over the years. They plan to turn the Oakville plant into an EV plant which is the stupidist of moves. I really feel sorry for the workers , they got totally screwed over.
John, Canadian made cars seem to be one of the best. My Dodge charger was made in Canada and whilst it has a terrible engine I somehow got lucky or the Canadian manufacturer did an excellent job building it. I tend to think the manufacturer did an awesome job. I am really sad to hear about the conversion of that plant. I hope they retain most of the workers because in the end that plant will probably get converted back to internal combustion. What do you think? Are you Canadian? Thanks for commenting and I hope you have an excellent rest of your Sunday. If you have any future content suggestions, let me know. -Brandon
@@A-BombEnergy Hi Brandon , yes Canadian and live about 2 hours from the Oakville plant. I'm only 45 minutes from Where the Talbotville plant was that produced the Ford and Mercury full size models that the police and taxi's loved, was a shame when it closed too. I don't know if CDN built is better , the Edge was a good one with the exception of certain issues that were worked out after the 2018 year. It'd be what a good and bad model vehicle are from the get go and how well the company deals with issues which are too damn slow and due to poor engineering and R&D research and testing. I was a mechanic from the early 70's to late 80's and saw a lot of changes in the industry. Hard to say what the future holds for us but I know an EV is not on my shopping list at this time.
Shame to see the biggest western automotive companies fall so far, the big Japanese automotive companies can rest easy knowing that their competition is destroying itself.
Tim, forgive me but if I remember correctly you watch my Jeep video? If so, thank you for coming over and checking it out, I feel like I invited you over...your name and photo looks really familiar. As for your comment, yes, its a big same. Its really the impetus behind the creation of these videos. They are capable of so much more, yet they chose mediocrity for short term profits. Japanese brands are doing so well and I have no issues supporting them. American companies need to learn the hard way this time. Thanks Tim, I hope you have an amazing day and we continue to have conversations. -Brandon
@@A-BombEnergy Yeah, I came from the Jeep video. Seeing as the middle-class are being out-priced from new cars and sticking with a used vehicle I hope that this causes sales figures to suffer enough for GM and Ford to make positive changes. My parents actually bought a new car for the first time back in 2018 that they still own, it was a base Mazda 2 and a worthy investment seeing that the prices for them skyrocketed after the pandemic. Why? Because most people want simple and affordable cars. Ford made a huge mistake doing away with their Focus and Fiesta models. Tldr: Keep most cars simple, reliable, and cheaper than the competition
Geniune thanks for bringing up the one argument that most people talking about EV's refuse too: their environmental impact and reliance on toxic matierials from companies and areas with horrific human-rights issues. We arent fixing the environment with EV's, were just exporting our problems elsewhere. We have one of the largest lithium deposits in the world on our own soil, ever thought about why we dont mine it?
No problem brother. It really bothers me how the process is done and I truly feel that it needs to shift. I have been to Africa and seen the depravity and human rights violations that occur, its really sad. I didn't know we were sitting on the largest lithium deposit, that is really interesting. I have a few ideas why we haven't touched it...that's a discussion over some brews lol. Now, this video needs some more traction, so lets get out, lock them hubs and plaster it all over the internet (bad dad joke but I am a new dad so I am allowed...right?) Thanks for commenting, I look forward to future conversations with you brother. -Brandon
I think the biggest problem is the loan term limits. The availability to finance a car for a very long term jacks the prices up cause the payment is more manageable over 7-10 years now.
That is a REALLY good point. In the next video, I will bring that subject up because it is so freaking valid. I have seen people get 90+ month loans. Crazy. Now, this video needs some more traction, so lets get out, lock them hubs and plaster it all over the internet (bad dad joke but I am a new dad so I am allowed...right?) Thanks for commenting, I look forward to future conversations with you brother. -Brandon
At least both my 1996 Ford F150 with a 5.0L (302) Windsor V8 with 211,000 miles and my 2011 Ford F150 with a 5.0L Coyote V8 in it with 162,000 miles on it are both running strong and not having any issues unlike the Modern F150s.
Wow brother, you have some really cool vehicles. They are very iconic. I bet in time they will be worth a lot of money. Keep taking care of those beautiful machines. I think the modern V8 is doing pretty well, but I can’t speak for everything else. I know there has been issues with the eco-boost and some of the hybrid models. I think the V8 is the most reliable one that they have made. What do you think?
A Ford 302 V8 along with the 300 inline 6 are easily one of the most durable engines that ever came out of FoMoCo. Things started to slip through the cracks once they started making OHC engines..
Ford needs to make a good 2-door single cab work truck with 1. Manual windows, mirrors, and locks 2 AC 3 Bluetooth radio (just a radio not touch screen bullshit) 4 8 foot bed That's it and make it cheap
Buck, I personally would love that. I think they would sell more than 5 of them lol. Unfortunately, there are a lot of regulations preventing them from doing this...i.e., backup camera. Its so frustrating. I am in the market for another truck to haul my energy drinks to stores and I can't believe the costs. I am about to just hook a trailer up to my Jeep and go that route. I have no choice. Thanks for commenting Buck, have a great weekend. -Brandon
@@A-BombEnergy Are back-up cameras mandatory? Holy shttt. I thought they were just infotainment gimmicks. I'll keep my trusty 2009 Ford Ranger, thank you.
Yeah man a lot of the "tech" that is in cars is in there by law, another example is TPMS sensors. I have those in my 09 Charger and they are so irritating. I have had to replace them like 3 times. At one point when I was broke, I just let me ding away because I couldn't afford 400 dollars for the second time that year. I bet that Ranger will last forever. How long have you had it?
Hey thank you very much! I research like a mad man to ensure everything is as accurate as possible. So far the video on Ford and Jeep have been the best with engagement and communication with the community. Next video is on GM so stay tuned and let me know if you have any suggestions. -Brandon
Brother, you are speaking some hardcore truths here. Also funny ones. Its funny because the wrangler is becoming a soccer mom car now too. I did a video on them...it made some people upset for some reason 😉 When you check that video out, let me know which one you liked more, I'll be making one on GM next and would love some help. My own nightmare with my old 16 Fusion was enough to dissuade me from modern cars all together. My big takeaway from this is that we should stop subsidizing the industry, particularly the push for EVs. A forced transition to EVs is a burden to taxpayers and vehicle owners, and frankly it's incentivizing stupid behavior from the automakers.
Brother, what a breath of fresh air it was to read this. You clearly get it. You sir give me hope that people are still using that beautiful brain we have been blessed with. Something I failed at showing in this video was the other subsidies they get but I will show that in my GM video. Trailer is posted for that one, check it out and let me know what you think. Do you think there will be a change with these brands if their sales plummet? Thanks for commenting Scotty, I hope you are having a great night. Best wishes my friend. -Brandon
Ford was Ford until they mostly closed off their Rouge plant along with outsourcing various parts that are manufactured by a different entity all together. Almost any FoMoCo product from the 70’s and up had almost every nut and bolt made at the Rouge plant since Ford was vertically integrated which means they bought up the various supply chains and such, would have been no worries about supply chain disruptions and shortages. I’m almost considering buying 1966 Ford Galaxie 500 body shells, have them analyzed, see what it would take to make cars what people actually want (i.e no frills transportation, modest price) and not what these companies and the government thinks that’s what people want, but in reality no one wants. Ultimately, it’s the government who ruined the auto industry, been 49 years in the making since CAFE was introduced (can take a hike for all I care) which has caused quality to drop, caused a loophole where they can produce gas guzzling SUVs and trucks.
Sean, that would be a really good idea with basically building your own car. I bet people would buy them. I certainly wouldn't mind having one. Although I have a car problem...I own 7 and I need to stop lol. You are totally right about CAFE. I think we need some level of protections so the Homer Simpsons aren't dumping nuclear waste in water streams, but to mandate and stranglehold engineering...and really the market, it just seems like a REALLY bad idea. But hey, maybe one day guys like us will make the change. I appreciate you coming back, if I remember correctly, you watched my Jeep video, so I really appreciate the return. As always, I look forward to future conversations with you. -Brandon
You sound knowledgeable, you mention Cafe laws or government interference, but as I am to understand it cafe laws EXIST because the big 3 lobbied the government because they were scared of Japanese competition in the small truck market. What are your opinions on that? Japan was releasing small, economical trucks. Ford and Chevy responded with the Ranger and S10, but from what I am to understand those still didn't sell well compared to Japanese counterparts. So the big 3 lobbied for these cafe laws which basically killed these small trucks allowing the big 3 to focus on the larger more profitable big trucks and SUVs. No American company wants to make cheap, reliable vehicles. I bet Ford hated every Ranger that rolled out of the factory because they knew that truck could last 50+ years, eating into their profits. For some reason Japan is willing to offer good value products, like they did with the early Nissan trucks, early Tacomas, and other small Japanese trucks even before those. Japan was the true victim of the cafe laws IMO, and of course us as well as consumers. You sound knowledgeable though so I wonder what your thoughts are on that? I could be wrong.
@@hhjhj393 learned most of this stuff from a video series that Rare Classic Cars & Automotive History did awhile back 2 years ago, along with a series about the Malaise Era done by Ed’s Auto Reviews about 2 years ago as well. I don’t think the big three lobbied against CAFE (later on, more than likely), CAFE was enacted in 1975 as a response to the oil embargo of 1973. The goal was to make the average fuel economy 27 MPG by the time the mid 80’s came around. Unfortunately, it lead to the big 3 (mainly GM) to produce some stinkers which turned off consumers such as the Chevy Vega which had a engine made out of aluminum with Teflon coated cylinders (it didn’t take long for the Teflon to wear off) that would consume a quart of oil every 60 to 100 miles. Another thing that turned off consumers was the air filter was built into a assembly, you couldn’t just replace the filter, had to replace the ENTIRE air cleaner assembly since the filter was built in. Ford’s Pinto was definitely better than the Vega, but had the issue with it catching fire in the early 70’s when rear ended hard enough. The later Ford Pinto in the 70’s was Fox-body based (same as the Mustang and Fairmont) so it didn’t have that problem. As for Chrysler, they didn’t offer any sort of economy cars at all, offered a few midsize cars, but no economy cars until after the bailout of 1979, 2 years later they introduced their K-Car platform which had great potential, but corrosion protection was a afterthought, didn’t rust proof them later on. On the flip side, got great fuel mileage (better than some cars today) and had room for 6 people. The reason why SUVs and trucks exploded in popularity in the 70’s and 80’s is they were exempt from the CAFE regulations since they literally were used off road by park rangers, or on private property so it didn’t make sense to make them comply, they weren’t driven as much on public roads back then. As soon as people realized SUVs and trucks had the power of something from the 1960’s, more and more people started to buy them as time marched on in the 80’s and 90’s. As for CAFE, every class of vehicles is subjected to different standards. Cars for example, have more stringent standards for fuel economy such as 40 or 50 MPG. Small trucks are subjected to the same fuel economy standards as well. Large SUVs and trucks have more lenient standards, but are otherwise there. Automakers use that loophole to make and sell oversized SUVs and trucks which drink more fuel than some cars from the 1960’s, a Ford Excursion from the early to mid 2000’s with the Triton V10 would get 8 to 9 MPG while a mid 60’s Ford Galaxie 500 with 289 V8 would get 14 city, 18 to 19 highway, though you could bump the fuel economy up to 16 city, 20 highway with a 4 speed transmission and upgraded the axel ratio to keep the RPMs on the lower side increasing fuel economy not to mention reducing engine wear and tear.
@@A-BombEnergy basically would be reproducing a car that’s been out of production for almost 60 years, no one would be able to claim patent infringement since it’s patents and copyright have been expired for a long, long time. Got the idea from my grandfather in a conversation we had awhile back where he mentioned “someone should bring back the Checker cars that were used as taxi cabs, they would sell millions of them”. Reason why I’d use a ‘66 Ford full sized body shell is it’s a simple, contemporary design which has stood the test of time, basically was styled by Elwood Engle who did the ‘61 Lincoln Continental. However, I’d beef up the frame with a x-brace since that’s how the Checker frame was, beef up anything and everything that could be beefed up for extra durability and reliability. I may sound like a old man, but the truth is I am 25. Just want to offer something the big 3 has abandoned long, long ago. Seems as though it’s been the same thing for the past 30 or so years. I have nothing against technology since I am apart of the Gen Z demographic, but when you put technology for the sake of putting technology in, it causes confusion, reduces reliability, last but not least increases cost. If you keep things as simple and basic as much as possible, improve it year after year, you’ll end up with something people will want. Of course, people will make the argument “if they still made things like they did 60 years ago, things would be outrageously expensive” and there is some truth to that argument, but if items like incandescent light bulbs (a old technology) have been in production for over 100 years, the cost goes down as time marches on with the combination on automation and economies of scale. If Ford kept the same cars since 1966, but only changed the technology in terms of automation and economies of scale in terms of production, they probably would be selling in the $25,000 to $30,000 price range and sure it wouldn’t have the technology or features of a contemporary Honda or Toyota, but if it has the ability to carry 6 people, has a trunk with lots of room for luggage, comfortable, modest price, it would be a better buy since you are basically getting more car for dollar than something else available. Another argument people will make is safety and that has some continuity to it, but if you really think about it, everything is all relative to the time and era it was produced. The ‘66 full sized Fords didn’t came with any safety equipment other than seatbelts, padded dashboard, but one area of safety they were better in especially with the 4 door hardtops was in outward visibility. Modern vehicles are atrocious for outward visibility and the amount of blindspots they have to the outside, I’m sure people in the future (if cars and trucks revert back to wrap around windshields and rear windows) will say “cars of the 2010’s and 2020’s were dangerous since they had terrible visibility and blindspots”, it’s all relative at the end of the day. Last but not least is in the area of serviceability, you can’t make repairs to modern and newer vehicles without loosing your mind. If the blend doors in the dashboard go bad for the HVAC controls, the ENTIRE dashboard has to come apart which will be thousands in labor. Many older vehicles for example from the 1960’s used cables to charge the various modes where you want the air to come out, if the cable binds up or gets stiff, a few drops of oil and 5 to 10 minutes time will correct that issue, same is true for manual window mechanisms which need to be lubricated every now and again.
Brother, I think you should seriously look into doing this. People every day have million dollar ideas but won't execute the task. There is a company in California that makes replica old mustangs, awesome BUT they are insanely expensive and I believe the design them for ultra wealthy, which is cool. Your grandpa sounds like a smart guy and sounds like he did you right. Thats awesome, 25 and thinking like this. You are going to be a successful guy. The only snag I could see you having is government regulations, however, if its sold as a replica, I think you can skirt that. Look into that though brother. I hear you on the safety aspect but honestly, have you seen the safety ratings of today? Its pretty wild in my opinion, they aren't amazing. And I care about safety but I am also down with letting people chose if they want to wear a seat belt or not. You know what I mean? You bring up a lot of good points brother, I really hope you can make this come true. You will crush it and if there is anything I can do to help, hit me up. And to add insult to injury, the big 3 has been crying foul to the feds in order to stop 25y/o kei trucks from imported into the U.S. from overseas. Whether it's the chicken tax, or 'safety concerns, they don't care! They just don't want ppl to have the option of owning a small truck. b/c they know they'll lose sales to them. I understand the kei trucks are not for everyone, but they do fill a certain niche.
Its crazy, I understand the chicken tax to a certain degree but this is not what the free markets are supposed to be. These automakers need to have their core rocked so they can provide us with better products. I am tired of them rinsing people. What do you think the solution to all this madness is? Should we be starting with awareness first? I made a video on Jeep and that ruffled some feathers but objectivity and truth are pretty important to solve problems. I look forward to hearing from you brother. -Brandon
Worst (or best) part about Ford, is that during Covid all I heard was how hard it is to find qualified software developers, just for Ford to lay off 4000 people that year, and do the same the next... I don't think any of those thousands experienced developers will be coming back to Ford any time soon. Work will be offloaded to foreign contractors, quality will dip, Ford will be impacted.
It’s really sad. I know you watch the new video so you know exactly how I feel about them and the situation. I don’t understand why they keep getting free money too… time will tell because bad businesses are getting spotlighted really hard because of things like the Internet. You are so correct there big dawg. It frustrates me to no end. Some people get political with this but its both R and D that are supporting these types of actions. Its just a simple case of bad decisions and they need to learn from mistakes. Shoot, I am a super small business owner, 1. Energy Drinks (which omg its expensive to start) and 2. Video editing. If I get a batch of energy drinks that go bad, I don't expect the govt to bail me out. Nor would I want it. Thanks for the comment brother, share this video out. Lets get it more traction, I put it in 4WD, I just need some help unlocking the hubs (bad dad joke, but hey, I am a new dad 🤣). -Brandon
Ford didn't take the Government bailout! Get your facts straight! The reason car companies, except Tesla are still building electric cars even though they're losing their ass is our friggin government and the Biden administration forcing this down their throats which is in turn is forcing these down our throats. So before you start blaming Ford you better look at our government and the policies being pushed.
I haven't viewed Ford as an American company since the late '90s when they outsource/off shored IT jobs. If the American worker isn't good enough for Ford than Ford isn't good enough for Americans.
Dennis, that is a great analogy. May I use that in future videos? I will be sure to give you credit for it. Ford spends $4 BILLION a year on warranty work. I own a 2019 Lincoln MKC and the car is practically perfect. But they ought to take their heads out of their rear ends and fix this warranty work problem.
4 billion! WOW! I think they have been leading amount of recalls for like 3 years? Correct me if I am wrong. How many miles do you have on your MKC? What specifically attracts you to it? I think they do make some good cars and sometimes when they are paired with the right owners, like yourself, they can be awesome cars. Thanks for commenting and I hope you have a great weekend. -Brandon
I have almost 30,000 miles on the car. I want to keep it to at least 200,000 miles. I change the oil more frequently than is required. They built the car extremely well. The fit and finish is excellent Any problems that i have with it basically cure themselves. I have no complaints about it. It's the perfect size for me because it's based on the Ford Escape.
You know, I think the secret to keeping cars longer is by doing more frequent oil changes. Do you do them every 3-5k miles? I don't let mine get over 5k miles. My BMW and Jeep say to change every 10k miles, YEAH RIGHT lol. Not happening. I am glad you are happy with your car, thats what this is all about, being happy with your purchase.
Owned a Ford Fiesta. Car from hell. Never ever a Ford again. How are they overcharging when Ford is losing about $50,000 per vehicle? They cost a lot to make, demand isn't there.
It’s pretty wild man and I’m really sorry to hear about the issues you had with your fiesta. It’s a shame because I know Ford knows how to make quality vehicles. People think that the 2008 bailouts were just a blip in time and a one time event. But it hasn’t stopped. I recently made a new video on Ford and their funding they receive. Check it out and let me know what you think. I would love to hear your opinion on it, especially with you being a former Ford owner. Thanks for commenting and have a great weekend. -Brandon
Hey man good video. You hit all the points. It’s such a shame how the American car industry has gone to shit. I want to support but I won’t support a bad product. Bailing these companies out is hurting the American people in the long run. Rah
Hey brother! Thanks for the compliments 🫡 Yeah I want to support them too but I just can’t anymore. Honestly, the bailing out and taxpayers funding these companies is the final straw for me. My question for you Tim, why can’t Ford and other EV makers model what Tesla has done? We all know why Tesla wasn’t making money and now that problem in the industry is somewhat solved. Somewhat lol. What are your thoughts brother?
@@A-BombEnergy I would personally say that one of the reasons that brands can’t copy Tesla and make a profit is because these companies have to start from the ground up when designing an electric car, especially when designing specialized manufacturing equipment and new facilities, meanwhile Tesla has been making electric cars since 2008, Tesla also has the benefit of being one of, if not the first successful EV makers. TLDR: many of these car companies are not specialized in making electric cars, meanwhile, that is all Tesla does.
You make some solid points brother. I appreciate the response my man and it’s well thought out and cordial. Do you think Ford will even be able to scale their EVs to make a profit? I ask because the are struggling to sell ICE and changing to a whole new game seems unwise. Thanks again Tim. -Brandon
It’s wild how some people don’t care about it. But the are same people telling me how to always live my life. I just want everyone to get alonggggggg lol. Thanks for commenting and watching brother, now let’s post this thing all over the internet and sling some traction to it 🇺🇸🫡
All of American car manufactures are TERRIBLE and extremely unreliable. Especially now many of new cars rely on software update in order to drive properly. Imagine you can't start your car because it has problem with a software update.... ridiculous right?
Brother, #1 good to see you again and #2 you are absolutely correct. I might have a different take so you let me know what you think but I am fine with them having "heavy software cars" but they need to offer base models that don't have that. I feel like base models are not base models anymore and they are just moving the "class" of vehicle up and up and forcing people to buy more expensive models. Sure there are models out there that don't, i.e. the Jeep Wrangler Sport, but as an owner of one, there is still a ton of tech in that car...like a ton. What do you think my friend? -Brandon
@@A-BombEnergy I totally agree. The current business model of American car companies are short sighted and terrible for customers. I wish you were the CEO of these car companies so they finally have someone with common sense and logic.
Its still slightly new? Maybe thats why? Either way, thank you for the kind words. I research and put a lot of work into this content for you guys. I look forward to providing more. Currently working on the GM video, its gonna be a wild one. Saving the best for last. Have a great day brother.
Thanks brother, I agree Henry Ford is probably disgusted with what Ford has become. He even has family still in the business and I don't know how they are okay with the direction they are going. I wish I was more popular, if you can, help me spread this video. Post it on social media or share it to some people you know, I would really appreciate it. Do you have any topics in mind you would like me to cover? I take everyones suggestions and track them. Thanks for commenting my friend, have a great Sunday. -Brandon
@@A-BombEnergy Good afternoon Brandon, All I can say is that based on personal experience money can corrupt most. It takes a strong person to resist a price. Car manufacturing is a business that would be highly corruptible. Lots of lobbying influence and money involved. Apparently the family fortune is just not enough. Then you are also under pressure to keep shareholders happy. Not a situation I'd want to be in. Though I can't really think of any topics to cover right now, I will definitely share and help out when possible. Proud to be a subscriber. Keep up the good work. You have a great formula, I really think your ship will eventually come in.
Yes, that is an unfortunate truth about money. I think when weak people get power and money it corrupts them for sure. Thanks for being a subscriber and a supporter. This video is gaining some good traction so thank you for sharing it out. I look forward to future conversations with you, brother. -Brandon
I think deep down inside, Ford don't wanna do the EV thing. Its clear with the fact that the Mustang is still in production while its rivals (Camaro and Challenger) have hit the dust.
Brother I think you are right on that. Ford just actually started scaling back their EV stuff again too, I just read some articles on it a few days ago. Its getting pretty wild how much all the companies are saying NO to EV's now. I truly think there is hope for the industry in that regard. Currently, I am working on the next video about Ford's finances...inspired by some comments. Thanks for commenting brother. -Brandon
@@A-BombEnergy Its the EPA that are making them do this. This could also explain why Dodge keeps pushing back production of the electric muscle car. They are not doing the EV thing by choice. I bet there is a bunch of HEMIs hidden away waiting for Trump to get back in office and abolish the electric vehicle mandate so they can release them as 2025 models.
I’ve heard this comment all too often my friend. I’m sorry to be the one to tell you but they did. Almost 6 billion and in fact they just paid that off. Fords PR team did a great job at hiding this. My fault for not explaining it in detail. I made a response video to this explaining how they did it. In a nutshell, they took 6 billion from DoE and the terms were almost identical to Chrysler and GMs bailout. There were only minor differences. I’m going do a full video on this at some point because the lie can’t keep going. I don’t blame you for not knowing. Thanks for commenting Daniel. -Brandon
@@A-BombEnergy So A documentary that I watched a couple of years ago with bill Ford saying they sold stuff off like the Range Rover jaguar Volvo division so they had money so they didn't have to take for the bailout was a bunch of bs I know that they took out loans from banks
Tesla used values have plummeted lately. 75%? that's either fake or cherry picked. Rental car companies are flooding the market with used Teslas that are destroying used values.
Interesting, I pulled the data from multiple sources and they were all around the same price point. Car edge was the fairest I would say, which is why I used them. But that data could be outdated because the car rental companies moving their inventory to the market. Maybe that data didn’t make it into what I posted? Either way though, nobody can argue teslas hold their value at an extremely higher level than any other EV…especially Ford…
Brian, thank you very much for the kind words. We are pumping out content as quickly as possible so stay tuned. Next video is on GM which will be out very soon. The trailer is posted if you want to check that out, I would love to hear your thoughts on that. Do you have any suggestions on future content? Thanks again Brian. -Brandon
I am no expert, but I have always noticed that Ford tends to be the more expiremental company. Like Ford will always be the first ones to try something new, then after a while Chevy will follow. Even back in the day Ford bragged about their fuel injected engines while Chevies were still carburated, I think that's why if you look at old Fords they will have giant FUEL INJECTED moldings on their aluminum intakes lol. That being said Ford has completely gone insane. From what I am to understand though Ford still makes good trucks. Their new 5.0 is a good engine, their diesels are still excellent. Ford's just gone insane with complexity. I think Ford has been notorious for having lots of "packages" and lots of different parts for a while now, but perhaps now it's just gone absolutely insane. All automobiles are simply too expensive and too complex right now. People like me are just gonna keep driving 30 year old f150s until they rust away.
I think you are right in your assessment, I am not expert either but it sounds to be right from my automotive knowledge/experience. And you are totally right about their trucks, that Coyote engine is amazing and I am glad they didn't get rid of it. I heard that years ago they wanted to. I really hope Ford can get it together and start making a profit with their money and not ours. Thanks again for the comment/love. Share this video out and lets get it some more traction. As always, I look forward to future conversations with you brother. -Brandon
thats exactly why they survived the gfc and exactly why theyre failing now. paradoxical. they sold themselves out. gm and chrysler arent smart enough to go their own way, so they just follow ford. to the end
The inconsistency of American car manufacturers is such a turn off for me. Fiesta… Escort… Focus… ⚰️ Monza… Cavalier… Cobalt… Cruze… ⚰️ Omni… Shadow… Neon (and PT Cruiser)… Caliber… Dart… ⚰️ Meanwhile, the Accord, Civic, Camry, and Corolla haven’t skipped a beat and have over 40 years of building their respective reputations. While there have been a few hiccups over the years, they seem to address them reasonably well.
Yes sir, you are totally right with what other brands are doing. I can’t remember exactly what it’s called but there is a Japanese term Toyota uses for basically “continuous improvement”. American brands are too profit driven and quarterly stock earnings driven they can’t seem to get it together. It’s sad because I want them to do well. Are you a big fan of Toyota and Honda? Thanks Albert, have a great week. -Brandon
@@A-BombEnergy Thank you for the love 😌 As soon as I read your first question, I knew what you were referring to. It’s called “Kaizen” and I recall hearing about it a while back while watching something Toyota-related. Like you, I want to see them do well also. They need to go back to the blueprint and bring back some cars; affordable cars. My first car was an ‘86 Integra and I had a 2000 Acura 3.2TL in the early 2000s. I’ve also had three S2000s. Nowadays, I’m loving my 2016 Audi TTS that I’ve had since 2021 (but I’ll always have respect for Honda and Toyota). Keep up the good work on your channel, by the way. The way this video begins - with that distinctive Ford chime and the special effects - is really cool. 😌
Isn’t that a wild thing? Ford literally has the key to making a profitable margin and solve a big problem but yet they don’t want to lean into it. I know plenty of guys that want a truck, but they don’t want big trucks. Some bought Mavericks and some bought the gladiator. What do you think of the Ford Maverick?
I think they wasted the opportunity to sell a bunch of them. The demand was there but who wants to wait a year/6months. Of course they’re steadily raising price on it now but that’s expected as it’s market wide.
Honestly, what I think they did is they applied the tactic of fear of missing out and that there is scarcity within that segment. It’s a marketing tactic. But I think they push the envelope too far because now people don’t really want to wait that long.
Very well done. It’s really sad to see where the company has gone and where it’s going, especially since I’m in the market for a Ford Maverick. I might even get a used Honda Ridgeline just because I know that was made in the United States.
Hey brother thank you very much, are you involved in production? I ask because your username. I think in GENERAL the Maverick is a good truck but if we are speaking in terms of longevity and build design, I personally would go with the Ridgeline. I have seen the transmissions overheat on them while offroading but unless you don't plan on tearing up the trails, it would be a great truck I think. What do you think of the Gladiator? I did a video on Jeep, check it out and see which video you like more. I would love to hear your feedback brother. Thanks again! -Brandon
I see Chinese automakers coming in and absolutely destroying the big 3 in the coming years once the Biden tariffs are gone. BYD is so much cheaper with EVs than ford ever will be and people are gonna *eat* Chinese EVs given they are actually affordable. I see Chinese ICE cars coming in and getting the extra budget market with sub-$15K cars as well. The U.S. auto industry is *cooked* between cheaper Chinese cars and Toyota being Toyota and me wanting a Lexus rather than a Cadillac if I ever had that money.
Yeah man, I think you are totally correct in that assessment. Who knows if the Chinese auto manufacturers are going to come to the US or not. Well, I am not a fan of Chinese products. I think however it is probably necessary for Chinese cars to come to the US market. Domestic auto makers need to learn what competition really is. I totally agree. I would love to have a Lexus or a high-end BMW. what model Lexus would you want? Also, share this video out with as many people as you can so we can get more traction. I feel the only way to help fix the domestic auto industry is to raise more awareness. Thanks for the comment and I hope you have a great Sunday. -Brandon
I used to be a "Ford Guy". My first new vehicle was a '72 Pinto. I've had numerous vehicles over the years, but always leaned to Ford. That is, until they completely abandoned the economy market. I currently have a 10 year old F150, but no longer want to spend the money on the fuel and repair costs associated with such a large vehicle. I just bought a new, 4 cylinder, normally aspirated, manual transmission "economy" car. I couldn't (more accurately, wouldn't) afford anything Ford offered new. They drove me to a Japanese manufacturer - Nissan. I now have a brand new Nissan Versa - under $20,000 out the door, and I'm getting 40+ miles per gallon. The F150 is up for sale.
What's with the weird Chinese hate? Especially for a part like a lithium ion battery that won't spy on you. If CATL can manufacture batteries at scale and more efficiently than American manufacturers, it's in everyone's interests to buy from them. You spoke ill of protectionism and the subsidies Ford is getting. Yet Chinese batteries coming to the US and ramping up competition is a bad thing?
I don’t like our funds funding a government that has openly stated we are the enemy of China. China is also conducting economic warfare around the globe and wants to essentially make the world dependent upon them. Whether you realize it or not, China is a quiet enemy of the US. Therefore, we shouldn’t be funding them. Remember, every company in China is an extension of their government. Read the book Unrestricted Warfare, it’s written by Chinese generals and they state how they will destroy America. What Ford and other battery manufacturers are doing is playing right into their hand. Additionally, I am kind of against slave labor, not really a cool thing to do and China is all about it. Hence why they execute 4000 plus people yearly. Also, how do you know a better doesn’t have spyware in it? There are tons of computers attached to a battery. Chinese manufacturers have also been caught stashing spyware items in simple things like thermostats, routers, and light bulbs (that’s according to the FBI). If you need more reasons, let me know brother. Be happy to provide them. I’m all about competition but not when it’s funding a group that is trying to destroy us. Thanks for watching.
@@A-BombEnergythey said that because the American government openly made them an enemy of the US first lol. Do you expect someone to like you after you try to damage their property (trade wars) say to their face you hate how they're doing well in life? Even threatening them with blocking them off (sanctions)?. Lay off the CNN and Fox News dude.
I don't like China spying either but the us was literally caught with a spying device in an EU official hq bro, they're as bad as eachother. And don't forget the us government even before that was caught spying on it's own citizens.

Well, I am just going to keep on driving and enjoying my 2002 Ford F-350 XLT Power Stroke Crew Cab with only 38,258mi on it from when I bought it new in the fall of 2001. My truck - by diesel standards - is still "new" and is in mint, garaged, condition. Never hauled or towed anything with it. It will cruise at 80mph smooth on the interstate all day long. Excellent factory, Philco symphony sound system. Never a single problem with it. Just regularly scheduled maintenance. Cost new: $39,808.00. Today, that amount would not even be enough for a down payment on a new, inferior-built, aluminum-bodied, Ford F-350. I am so glad I have mine instead.😅
Mark, thats a beautiful truck and you are very lucky to own that bad boy. Such low miles too, I can tell you care for it. I cannot understand why they are going so wild with these prices, I have ideas why but that's a whole other video. I could probably talk for hours on that. Its interesting you bring up the aluminum body, I have spoken to some people and they LOVE them and some have a strong distaste for them. Personally, I think its a good idea but I would rather have a steel frame and just keep it clean to prevent it from rusting. Why do you think they went with aluminum bodies? MPG? Thanks for commenting Mark, I hope you had a good fathers day. -Brandon
@@A-BombEnergy Thank you, Brandon. Ford went to all-aluminum bodies for weight savings. GM and Dodge are following very soon, if they haven't already. Ford claimed it saves more than 350 pounds off of the overall weight of the trucks. BUT.......they do not tell you that all of the body shop technicians had to go back to school to learn about the brittleness and difficult repair and costs of aluminum bodies. Independent insurance labs put the new, aluminum bodies to the test by taking the previous years' steel body versus the new aluminium body by bashing them in the rear bedside. It cost $450.00 to repair the steel body. It cost $800.00 to repair the aluminium body! Almost double! The major insurance companies really frowned on that and jacked up insurance rates on aluminium-bodied trucks and cars. Plus, look closely at the build details of the new aluminum-bodied Ford trucks compared to the 2008 and back steel-bodied trucks. The new aluminum trucks no longer have the graceful, seamless, aircraft doors that extend into the roof. They cannot fold the aluminum like they can steel. Aluminum does not hold paint well at all either. It eventually peels and chips very easily. I live in Texas where we have tennis-sized hail storms, too. No aluminum truck will ever stand up to that! Mine did one time, about 6 years ago just exposed to the front a little. But it took that hail with NO damage.
Mark, thanks for sharing this information with me. I went a looked some of this up for further info and I am surprised by this decision. The crash tests were very interesting to say the least. Mixed data but still interesting. And I have seen the aluminum paint issues with Jeep guys...stuff is bad with certain models. Just shocking...
10:42 Correction - When Ford uses the phrase "Number 1 selling truck" they are referring to the total sales of all F-series trucks combined and intentionally misleading the public by referring to a variety of F-series trucks as a singular "truck". Their claim is that the F-series is the best selling "truck", but other manufacturers have outsold Ford in the truck market in recent years. It's a claim that's on life support and survived only due to technicality.
Really now? You are the first to bring this to my attention, I appreciate that. I’ll have to take a deep dive into that use it for the next Ford video. Thanks for all the comments, you are very informative and I appreciate that. -Brandon
What you said there at the end. That's the truth! I own a 2010 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor. 68k miles. And it looks like it just came off the assembly line. I worked my butt off to buy that truck! May even be why I had a heart attack two years ago.
John, good to see you back in the comments! I bet that 2010 Raptor is running so smooth too. Sometimes when you marry and great owner to a car, the things can run longer than anyone expects. You have such low miles on your Raptor, thats really cool. What do you do for work? Forgive me if you already told me...I am working on remembering everyone. Hope you have a great weekend. -Brandon

Ford still gets one shred of credit from me: Building the bullnose. The ford truck platform from 80-97 that is becoming to off roading what the DC-3 is to bushpilots. It's sad though the only vehicles I will drive are all made before I was born.

It’s Sad To see Especially with the fact that Most Ford crown Vics Have been replaced with The modern Hybrid ford explorer and considering what you said that makes me concerned for our country’s fleet of emergency vehicles.
Jack, I didn’t know EMS vehicles were going with hybrids. That’s VERY concerning. I wonder if it’s mainly in cities or localized areas? Do you happen to know? The crown Vic was one of the best cars they made, in my opinion at least. I knew a police officer who was issued one new and put over 300k miles on it. I don’t get why ford doesn’t apply the model of Toyota and Honda, build and refine…build and refine. Look forward to hearing from you Jack. -Brandon
The issue. The big three are making cars no one wants, for prices most can't afford, because the government is pushing them to do it. The other issue with the big three is, they are only alive because they were bailed out in one way or another... they didn't suffer the same fate as companies like Packard when they could no longer make money.
Brother, did you watch my Jeep video? I included a clip of the Ford CEO saying that almost EXACT statement, I should have put it in this video. What do you think the solution is for this? Should we keep spreading awareness like this and at least strip some profits from them? Maybe they will get the picture and change? I can't give up on American companies yet. Thanks for commenting and have a great weekend. -Brandon
@@A-BombEnergy I think we may not fix this issue for quite a while. People are too compliant with the government, people are too brainwashed with the idea cars need to be luxury status symbols that you can purchase with mortgages. I think this is the direction things need to go, to fix the problem we will need to ignore or vote out or …remove… people in government that make things harder, and the auto makers need to go broke until they make what consumers can afford and want for fair prices. It’s an issue that to really fix requires multiple approaches, consumers need to stop being stupid, producers need to stop being greedy, and the government needs to know their own place, minding their own damn business.
Thank you very much for the kind words. I appreciate it very much. There are going to be more videos like this coming out soon. Ask your government why we are footing the bill on ev plants. It’s because without that, nobody would invest in them- these companies know the majority WILL vote with their wallet and what they truly want, and they will buy ICE vehicles. Ford did NOT take 08 bailout money. The EV market is the downfall of them. The Super Duty is the king of trucks. We all run them as business owners, as better reliability, durability especially in rugged towing and snow removal, and lower cost of maintenance. The Gov forcing ev on everyone is causing the struggles. Majority doesn’t want them. I am a loyal Ford customer, and I see them being forced by government to manufacture the EVs. They’re doing their best to keep from potentially being forced out of business in 10 years due to ev laws. I’ll keep buying their diesel trucks and fast gas cars (Mustang) they vow to refuse to discontinue as long as it still sells.
Tom, this is a common misconception here but Ford 100% TOOK bailout money. I will take the blame for not showing how they did it but I honestly thought everyone knew about their shady way they did it. You should look into this because it is very very shady what they did. I also did a response video to that very misunderstanding because I didn't realize how widespread this illusion of "Ford not taking bailout money" was. Ford PR did a great job I guess. Check out that video and let me know what you think. So far, everyone who has thought Ford didn't take bailout money has had their mind blown. Its a sad thing to learn. Do you run Super Duty's yourself? I have to say, I had one for a bit...I really didn't like it but I am sure I didn't use it for its TRUE purposes. I was used it for light hauling and towing. I found it underpowered, terrible handling, uncomfortable, and when I got stuck in gravel (I was on a slight grade), that blew my mind. Oh well though, I am sure they are great for most people. Thanks for commenting Tom, I look forward to you watching that video and letting me know what you think about Ford being bailed out. -Brandon
@@A-BombEnergy I’ll check it out. Look on my page I got a video of my truck buried in a pond lol. What year did you have? Must have been issues, they ride good but they’re still a straight axle truck, handling I’ve had several years and never had an issue of it. As for power, if you had a gas truck or a 7.3 powerstroke, that’s probably where your underpowered complaint comes from. 7.3 is a very long stroke, mechanical fired, slow spinning mill. Not a great setup for feeling “peppy” or making power. Reliable good towing machine for up to 15 or so thousand pounds. I routinely tow north of 30k on the same dually you see stuck in the mud, and we are in very hilly country (Kentucky). Unhook the trailer and even loaded down with fuel and tools it is impressively quick especially with the 10 speed and modern 6.7 powerstroke. The reason everyone likes Ford for trucks is they have overall the best setup. Best transmission, most powerful engine and the 6.7 is competing with Cummins for reliability, straight axels that are far better than dodge (there’s a reason everyone runs super duty axles in major offroad builds), list goes on. For snow plowing the front end bar none holds up the best to the weight and abuse of a snow plow, trans is ok with going reverse drive all night on plow events. Towing and hauling transmissions chassis and drivetrain last longest. Also- new aluminum bodies mean no rust.
I was raised in a Honda loving family. My grandpa basically gets the latest CRV every couple years. My first car was a hand-me-down '05 CRV with almost 200k miles. I had _one_ issue with that car where a solenoid broke and caused misfires. Guess who still managed a whole road trip with that busted solenoid, minimal issues? Replaced that part and had zero issues afterwards. My whole family has never had a single issue with Honda. I love my little '22 Civic!
You can never go wrong with a Honda. Sure they might at worst have a bad part or weird issue but it’s so rare. Especially when compared to an American car. How many miles have you put on your civic? You know, even in the 70s, there was a quality to the big 3, and long before that is pure quality, their was always a man making the car. But nowadays, it's quantity over quality. And almost every American car company can be put with that sentence.
Its amazing how we can't go back to that. I mean we could but then it would destroy their quantity. If I remember correctly, BMW when they make cars has master builder run his hand over every single inch of the car to ensure that its built correctly. We could have that level of detail now but our companies chose short term profit. What do you think we could do to solve this? Have you seen my video on Jeep? Your name looks familiar. If you haven't, let me know which one you like more. Thanks for the comment brother. -Brandon
@@A-BombEnergy I've seen the Jeep video as well (I like that one too,) and I feel kinda sorry for the people who own new jeeps. And the BMW thing is absolutely true. I'm on the hunt for my first personal car and found an old BMW 325I from 1989. However, many say that "It's nothing but trouble," and I understand why, but I have a saying that isn't really a saying and it's "If it could survive then, it can survive now." And if we were to do quality over quantity again, the longevity of a car would have been Astronomical with the technology and with safety. We could have had a new Jeep CJ that would have actually lasted forever, and a new electric Ford Thunderbird for the masses and because the name makes sense. But here we are. Chrysler, GM, and Ford are about to go broke.

These prices for vehicles are NOT affordable. If you can't pay cash for something you can NOT afford it. The U.S. is in a bad place because everyone runs on debt. The moment you lose your job you're screwed. Only pay cash. Zero debt.

Can I ask you a serious question? Since when did the taxpayer become a bank for corporations? And brother, they haven’t all been paid back. Chrysler still owes over a billion dollars and the subsidies alone these companies get is wild. Idk how anyone could take their side when they give you a bad product? Please tell if my line of thinking is wrong. I want to know your opinion on this my friend. -Brandon
@@A-BombEnergy let me clarify. Ford paid back their bailout. As did GM. Chrysler doesn't even count IMO. That was my only point. And I'm certainly not defending the soulless mega corporations hell bent on their own destruction in the name of the bottom line. I've been working on GM vehicles professionally for over twenty years. Believe me when I say I'm more pissed about the drop in quality than anyone. I used to take pride in only owning GM vehicles. Now this is a Honda household. Also, if you want to discuss the time honored tradition of tax subsidies for industry in lieu of social programs.... Well... I don't think either of us has that long to talk. Eat the rich.
@@Pknuckles1804 But GM didn't actually pay back their bailout though. The misconception about this entire situation needs a video because the misinformation runs deep. I am going to include it in the GM video because by God I seriously thought everyone knew all this by now. Look it up and do your own research but we lost over 11 billion on GM's bailout. I don't call that paying it back, especially when they used escrow money that was part of their bailout to pay back the bailout loan. It was literally like robbing Peter to pay Paul except Paul and Peter are the same person. So many things kill me about Ford. They are capable of building decent vehicles, but even when they do, they just discontinued them. My mother has had two Transit Connect vans and has loved them both. While not perfect vehicles, they have been solid with regular maintenance. The first new product Ford introduced, the Maverick, was a pretty exciting as a concept- an affordable truck with a hybrid system! I hoped that, after a few years, the tech would mature and (maybe) Ford would have a winner on their hands. Now I can find a single maverick for less than 30k at any local dealerships, no hybrids available. Kinda defeated the entire purpose. Ford always did their own thing, but I find it hard to be enthusiastic about any of their current models... But this applies to both GM and Chrysler too. I miss seeing new American cars and being impressed. They still have some attractive designs, but reliability is completely down the tube.
Brother, you are so right man. All the American brands have the capacity to build the best of the best, they just chose not to. Also, why does your mom have so many transit vans? I ask because I’m looking for a van or truck to haul my energy drinks. But you bring up a good point about them discontinuing good models…. Just look at the crown Vic… wild stuff. Thanks for commenting brother, have an awesome day! 🫡
@@A-BombEnergy They are the Transit Connect, which is a smaller, front wheel drive version of the transit with NA 4 cylinder engines. Basically, it's the modern equivalent of the minivan. Both are passenger versions, but are really easy to put all the seats down and have a huge flat cargo space. It also has a lower load height than any of the crossover SUVs that had similar cargo space with seats faded down, which makes loading and unloading easier. As far as purpose why, we move a lot of furniture, groceries, and music equipment like speakers. The first van had a traditional hatch style rear door, while the current van has the dual barn doors in the back. We definitely prefer the barn doors.
Coming back to this, the more I learn about my Fiesta the more I feel like I understand what happened to Ford. Each trim level of the Fiesta in America - the SE, SES, Titanium, and ST - had entirely different parts. The interior switches, dashboard, gauge cluster, radio, door handles, steering wheel, center console, seats, trunk liner/floor, spare tire compartment, carpet, headlights, taillights, and foglights were all entirely different, and in the case of the interior parts none of them are interchangeable without modification (the gauge cluster has different pin-outs, the headlight switch has entirely different resistors and voltages, etc). However, the American Fiesta was different than the one elsewhere in the world, and the three trim levels elsewhere in the world also had an entirely different set of parts, which in the case of the interior parts don't fit even WITH modification. Additionally, none of these parts are shared with anything else in the Ford lineup. This means that for a car that had an MSRP of as low as $9,000, Ford engineered the exact same part - a steering wheel, for example - as many as seven different times. No wonder they weren't turning a profit on small cars!
Hey brother, sorry for the late response. Idk why it doesn’t show me every comment lol. But that’s certainly weird that they are changing parts out with every trim, that’s not normal. I almost wanted to chalk that up to supply chain issues or maybe it was cheaper for distribution but even still, you would incur a lot of costs and I would be VERY curious why they chose to go this route. What Ford doesn’t get, and really all the brands, is that when they make a bad model, it reflects on all the models. Weird stuff. I hope you enjoyed my newest videos brother, always a pleasure to see you and thanks again for sharing this news with me. -Brandon
@@A-BombEnergy yeah, I’ve got a few things I wanted to do in the ST - change out the interior switches for red backlit ones like in the other Fiesta models, get the steering wheel reupholstered, etc - and it’s not as simple as going to the junkyard and yanking those parts off because they’re all completely different. The steering wheels are different shapes, sizes, and materials! The window switch PCBs are entirely different! The gauge clusters are different shapes! The center consoles don’t bolt together! It’s nuts!

HM no Harley still has a young base they just make their bikes too good the old bikes get handed down to younger would be buyers so yeah.

@@A-BombEnergy
Surprise, surprise, if you build shitty tools people aren't going to like you.
I think we never left the malaise era.
I totally agree 100%
It was one of the dumbest moves to stop making the cars like first focus and fusion . What were those clowns thinking ? The trucks are way to expensive and get bad fuel mileage I don’t want to own an overpriced truck with every luxury function known to man .
Don't forget the Ford Panther Platform as well (like the Ford Crownvic, Mercury Grand Marquis, and Lincoln Town Car).
@@BobConnor-n2g Agreed 100%

@@A-BombEnergyThe real American cars we're from the 50s, 60s, and early 70s.

Man, dude, you are really aggressive with getting your message out there lol. It’s a car video, not political.😂
The 40% increase in pickup prices since 2019. Is not going to help them. Henry Ford built his business on providing vehicles for the common man not building vehicles only for the rich!!
Brad, you are totally correct. Thank you for highlighting this point. @@bmw803 it’s a farce. Buyers are only buying crossovers because that’s all that’s available. They stopped selling sedans because they couldn’t match regulatory demands for the segment.

You like it, come in and we'll talk numbers."
The truck cost $40,000.

I would buy from them if they did the right thing. Glad there is still some smart people out there like you that see it. Mark, did you watch my Jeep video? @@A-BombEnergy Wow! I knew Jeeps and Chrysler was bad, just not that bad! This same short sided vision is what took Navistar down. Had they listened to their customers and engineers, Navistar/IH would still be with us. Another case of sales overriding engineering which started the IH downward spiral in the 1950's, and ended with the Maxxforce engine emissions scandal. Poor management plain and simple! Great video Thanks!👍
An excellent follow-up to the Jeep video, very well done, I found the talk of the resale value drop very interesting, and an aspect of cars people don't give too much mind to. I once again look forward to the next video in this style.
Thanks brother, I really appreciate the love. Yeah people always told me EVs lose their value fast, but those were Ford EV owners. Sooo it’s not EVs that lose value, it’s bad EVs that lose value lol. Ready for the next American Auto Failure
My buddy is an engineer at Ford. About a year ago, he and I were guessing that a big crash, like what happened to the housing market, is coming for the car market. I wish I remembered some of the details we were thinking about then. When that time comes, I'm sure it'll be another bailout.
Dang brother, a lot of people I think have been sensing this and interpreting the data. Knowing that you and your buddy also are predicting this just confirms our suspicions, especially considering he works for Ford. That’s powerful. What can we do to prepare ourselves for this? I would LOVE to speak to you and your buddy, if you can, hit me up on IG. I have so many questions for you brother. I look forward to hearing from you. Have a great weekend. -Brandon
At this moment, the japanese brands are more american than any american car company except Tesla
That's true unfortunately 😕
Aren’t many of the Japanese brands made in the United States? But I think that Toyota is transitioning some of their production to Mexico if I am thinking correctly. I think Tesla and the Jeep Wrangler are the most American made cars in the industry. Thanks for commenting brother and if you have any suggestions on future content, please let me know. I would love to hear your thoughts and opinions. -Brandon
The most American cars built in USA are Tesla.
Don't most Tesla parts come from China?
Truth back as far as the 90's. Had a 91 Ford Escort POS, made in Mexico. The only reason it still ran is because it had a Mazda designed engine., Currently still have my 97 Honda Civic, made in the USA.
you got rid of all the affordable cars ... keep saying that bullshit that ppl want suvs and crossovers ... but we all don't want crossovers ,some of us still want a sedan ,or something small and affordable... no fiesta, no focus, no fusion, hell no, Taurus ... everybody don't want a damn Maverick or escape and on top of that, no affordable ev ... mach e cost too much 150 ev cost too much ... lack luster quality... smh ... but ppl continue to keep Ford in business 😂😂
J, thanks for commenting brother! Yeah its pretty wild why they would get rid of the affordable car segment but then say "hey, were gonna make ev cars." What kind of logic is that haha. I think there are only two categories keeping Ford alive, the F-150 buyers and taxpayers 🤣 Thanks for commenting my brother, now lets put this video in 4WD and blast it all over the internet, I need your help to get it more traction (bad dad joke, but I am a new dad sooo I am allowed...right?) Yeah Fords quality is not good and lacking comfort.
Maybe their offices keep buying Escorts
That Ford open door chime sound at the top was awesome.
Thanks man, it gives me bad memories and I know it does to others.
@@ClockworksOfGL I think you've been drinking too much Tesla Kool-Aid.
The main takeaway I see is government intervention. If Ford was not bailed out they would have either
Haha landboat, nice term. What are you thinking of getting specifically? How many miles do you have on your Fusion? If you like the size of the Fusion, Toyota Camry would be a good ride I think.

My big takeaway from this is that we should stop subsidizing the industry, particularly the push for EVs. A forced transition to EVs is a burden to taxpayers and vehicle owners, and frankly it's incentivizing stupid behavior from the automakers.
Brother, what a breath of fresh air it was to read this. You clearly get it. You sir give me hope that people are still using that beautiful brain we have been blessed with. Less parts, less maintenance that's why they don't want to build EV's.
I am on IG, Facebook, and building a website for my energy drink business. Look forward to hearing from you. -Brandon

@@A-BombEnergy any time brother
We are living in a time where if you run a bad business. It won’t last. But certainly hope things change. Always a pleasure to see you. -Brandon
If the government didn't just bail them all out everytime they did something stupid, they might actually learn a lesson and make smart decisions
-Brandon
Then the government uses the bailout as leverage to force the companies to do more dumb sh-
And screaming "Protect American auto makers" in face of better competition from abroad
I wonder if we’d still have any legacy American car companies
I am tired of these "great" companies turning their backs on the customers who support them through thick and thin. Its not right. I can't imagine for a second running my business's that way. They're biggest mistakes was killing the Mercury brand and not building a V8 Muscle sedan version of the Mustang to compete with the Dodge Charger.
Yeah, I think they need to lean into their V-8 a little bit more CJ. What is funny is GM is secretly building a large V-8 production factory from what I am told. I need to confirm this information though. Thanks for commenting brother and if you have any future content suggestions, please let me know. Have a great rest of your Sunday. PS cute cat.
@A-BombEnergy Thanks brother, same to you as well.
@@A-BombEnergy They Muscle sedan version of the Mustang should be called the Falcon.

Mercury sales were on a rapid decline ever since the mid 90s
I’ll buy a Tesla sedan next. They are technically an American company.
I wouldn’t mind a Tesla either. Not as a primary car but definitely a secondary grocery getter or work commute maybe. Have you driven a Tesla yet? It’s much more wilder than I thought it would be 🤣-Brandon
Electric vehicles will send American automakers out of business
Brother, I think that is exactly what is happening and my fear is that we will once again bail them out. I am all in favor of electric cars, but not in the aspect of "its one or the other." Why can't we have both? What do you think we can do to help prevent American car companies from going out of business? Now, this video needs some more traction, so lets get out, lock them hubs and plaster it all over the internet (bad dad joke but I am a new dad so I am allowed...right?) Ford spends $4 BILLION a year on warranty work.

0:46 True until you realize 2020 was the first year Tesla made a profit.
-Brandon

1:45 Ford also sold engines to the 3rd Reich... a lot of those German trucks had Ford engines under the hood! GM's Opal division did as well!

RELEASE THE HEMI'S....Hemi swap everything! Haha
ford didn't take any bailout money been a ford guy for over 25 years
I’ve heard this comment all too often my friend. -Brandon
Did you not watch the other video showing Ford took bailout money?
@@A-BombEnergy So
A documentary that I watched a couple of years ago with bill Ford saying they sold stuff off like the Range Rover jaguar Volvo division so they had money so they didn't have to take for the bailout was a bunch of bs I know that they took out loans from banks
Yup they did ; only false reason their are afloat today.
Chinese cars manufacturers should expand into the USA market

-Brandon
thats exactly why they survived the gfc and exactly why theyre failing now. paradoxical. they sold themselves out. gm and chrysler arent smart enough to go their own way, so they just follow ford. to the end

Meanwhile, the Accord, Civic, Camry, and Corolla haven’t skipped a beat and have over 40 years of building their respective reputations.
-Brandon

I have an Odyssey now cause we have 4 kids. I can’t WAIT to downsize again to a Civic, small, Manuel, fun, reliable.
People want Ford Mavericks but Ford wants to sell something else I guess.
People don't like dictatorships unless they're politicians. That's what's with the chinese hate.

-Brandon
Ford is really good at making very delicate Rube Goldberg vehicles.
-Brandon

Nick, good to see you again. I totally get where you are coming from on being a shareholder. I have been in similar shoes and I know it probably burns more than most realize. Hopefully they can get it together and you can see some large profits my friend. I look forward to hearing from you in future videos brother. -Brandon

Ford still gets one shred of credit from me: Building the bullnose. The ford truck platform from 80-97 that is becoming to off roading what the DC-3 is to bushpilots. It's sad though the only vehicles I will drive are all made before I was born.
I love that series of trucks, rough and tough. My buddy has one with like 300+ miles. Its giving him trouble now but hey, its an old ride. I get you driving vehicles older than you, one of my favorites rides is older than me. Thing just works like a champ. Thanks for commenting my friend. I just released the video on GM today if you want to give it a look. Hope you have a great night brother! 🫡-Brandon

-Brandon

I think we may not fix this issue for quite a while.
Thank you for sharing your ideas and opinions. I’m not sure many would disagree with you on this. I think you probably know where I stand 🫡🇺🇸

I also did a follow up video to this one about how they get their funding…check it out and let me know what you think. Thanks my friend. -Brandon 🫡

Quality stuff man!!
Mathias (awesome name btw), there is more coming after this. Now, this video needs some more traction, so lets get out, lock them hubs and plaster it all over the internet (bad dad joke but I am a new dad so I am allowed...right?) Thanks for commenting, I look forward to future conversations with you brother. -Brandon
These prices for vehicles are NOT affordable. If you can't pay cash for something you can NOT afford it. The U.S. is in a bad place because everyone runs on debt. The moment you lose your job you're screwed. Only pay cash. Zero debt.
Totally agree man. I think because of the situation we are in globally, people just swipe and send it. I’m actually concerned about the future of this mentality. What do you think we can do to fix it? Also, did you watch my Jeep video? Your username looks familiar and I’m trying to do my best to remember everyone. If not, check it out and let me know what you think, I’d love to hear your opinion on which is better. -Brandon
You keep talking about the ball outs like they didn't get paid back.
We are a BMW house now, once the Jeeps and other FCA's we own die, they are being replaced with German engineering.
Also, I want to be rich so I guess you will have to eat me at some point 🤣 I say eat the corrupt rich.
It’s nuts!
