    I’ve made 4 KING SIZE Puff Quilts, 1 for each of my children when they got married, using the old method. My husband keeps asking when he’ll get his, but between my 14 grands, I didn’t have the time I needed to do it…until now!! Thanks sooooo much! ❤

    My cousin's baby shower is today and a week ago I decided I wanted to make a baby quilt to gift her. I was going for simple but then I stumbled across puff quilts and was convinced that's what I wanted to do. I found this video and decided to go for it. Well, I did it! I finished the puff quilt last night. I did 6.5 inch blocks like you did. I did 8 by 10 and it turned out to be the perfect size. Thanks for this tutorial!

    Hi Tracy, AMAZING video! I am a very novice sewer and found your instructions to be incredibly beginner friendly and encouraging, so THANK YOU ❤️
    Also wanted to add a quick note for those that are wanting to try this with a fleece front and minky back…I personally was able to follow Tracy’s instructions and completely LEAVE OFF the pleats! I made one fleece tester with pleats and one without, because I found pleating with fleece to be really difficult…the tester pieces came out looking nearly the same for me. The stretch of the fleece was just enough to not need the pleats.
    I’m so looking forward to cranking these out for Christmas presents this year!

    I used this process to make a puff quilt for me college bound daughter last year and it turned out beautifully. Hers was huge though because it was large enough to cover the whole twin sized bed. I also used soft, white cotton fabric for the back because the minky fabric was a fortune even on sale.

    My mother was a quilter at the behest of my gran. She made a puff quilt in the 80's that was beautiful, save the pea green and browns. She made each square individually by hand with gran, then sewed them together with a machine.
    Hottest quilt I EVER slept under. The quilt fell apart and Is no longer, but what an excellent way to make one! 😮 Brilliant🤍

    ‼️ GENIUS ‼️ I’ve always wanted to do a puff quilt. This is a game changer! Love your design wall AND your scrap organizer wall. I live in a small house with others. Once my bedroom is repainted, I’m “redecorating” with clear scrap containers similar to yours. I love how they brighten up your wall and are sooooo accessible. I’ve been following you for a while now, and I’m inspired with every video you do. ❤😊

    Oh my goodness Tracy I love the big puffs. I must admit though the smaller puffs were just the thing when I made a puff quilt top for my daughter's shelf where the cat and sometimes her small dog sit at the window. Now, the big puff for the day bed out on the deck. These animals really live in luxury!!!!

    I am making a puff quilt and have made many through the years. I was looking at different designs for inspiration when I came across your video. I was curious about your method so I watched your video. I really think that you should call it a "Mock" puff quilt. Puff quilts, aka pillow or biscuit quilts, are just that, puffs that are stuffed and sewn together. You acheived lovely results and it works for you. I just prefer to continue making mine in the original or traditional way.

    • @TheSewingChannel
      @TheSewingChannel  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you Joy❣️ Great question...I think you could do a regular binding without "birthing the quilt". Just sew wrong sides together using same method as in the video...then bind it like you normally would after stuffing the puffs✅🤷🏻‍♀️

      @trinam2503 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I did her original w 5in squares. I did put binding on it since it was for my infant niece. It was slightly fiddly since the quilt is not flat. But it wasnt to hard, and only took a little longer than usual. Totally worth it!.

      Yes very warm and cozy...has a bit of weight to it....I think it's more like a "comforter" for a bed...pretty to look at...But it can be snuggled with due to the soft minky....that is why I like it for the back instead of stiff cotton. My Josie loves to lay on puff quilts and nap😍

    Thank you for sharing. I am attempting to make one for my first grandbaby coming in June and this has been the best tutorial I have seen. Wish me luck!
