Thank you for showing this method. I was always frustrated by the awkwardness of the bulky seams with the traditional method. This way is much smoother!
Oh my goodness totally love it love the colors love the fabric love the tutorial thank you so much for sharing I’ve been wanting to make one of these forever❣️🧵✂️🪡💗💖❤️💓🥰
if i wanted to make an average sized/blanket sized quilt what backing would you recommend- i was thinking either fleece or flannel but i am unsure if flannel comes in the correct size :0(
Flannel would be okay! We have a bunch online and they typically are 45" wide. I recommend Woolies Flannel from Maywood. Or, if you want something even warmer & more fuzzy, then I highly recommend you look into Minky. It's much softer & fuzzier like I said, which makes it so much nicer to cuddle into... We have a ton of Minky as well on our website!
I was thinking on making a super warm cozy puffy blanket. Can I use another type of fabric to do the back (like plush) or does it complicate things/add steps? I'm new to sewing! Thanks for the tutorial!
I want to do a large one for my bed on myboat. Unusual size is 60 inches on 2 sides and 106 in. on one end and other end is 70.inches. is itpossible to sew rhis big of aquilt this pattern? I am an experience quilter and sewer. Idid all my upholstery cushions on our boat.
Looks easy, but I know you can't get that big quilt under the opening of the sewing machine. There must be some hand sewing there somewhere! Hope you will respond and explain it to me. I really do want to make a quilt like this.
Hardly, they’ve been making pleated puff quilts since before sewing machines were even invented… and there are definitely way older videos than her 3yo one, it’s not “her” pattern (but everyone SHOULD watch her anyways, I LOVE Tracy).
Not into the puff quilt? Here's an easy one you can make in a day! th-cam.com/video/IxQuvXbGAkA/w-d-xo.html
Made one this way. The Sewing Channel showed this method. Super easy!
❤Tammy, thank you for crediting me with this idea. This is my original design/technique of the new way to do a puff quilt.❤
@@TheSewingChannelhey Tracy thought this looked familiar
Great job!
I was going to say the same thing @thesewingchannel

There are more than you know!
This is a new way to quilt for me. a puff quilt really looks nice. I will try it.

7:05 working on a puff quilt for a full size mattress. How do I make sure that my top is the right size after pleating. I’m using 5” squares.
O my that is a question for another time.
@@SewYeah Ive decided to not worry about it. She gets what she gets. :-) Thank you.

Interesting concept

Thanks for the tutorial!
you could use a minky plush for sure as the backing, but it would make it a bit harder to put together! Just a bit tho
Fun tutorial!
Thank you!!!
🎉❤🎉 I fount you and I am glad. This is what I am doing with my extra topper already made 😊
That's awesome! Best of luck to you in your project 🙂

Yes of course. You will have to add more puffs, lol
Could do a weighted blanket the same way with fish tank rocks
I am behind seeing these comments. Sure hope you have that question answered by now.
Yes
👍👍💕
Love it thanks
You’re welcome 😊
Nice 👍👍

How hard would this be to do by hand or do you have any recommendations for doing the pleat by hand?
Our recommendation would be to just be patient with your fabric and to be patient with yourself 💘
So the pleat would just a a few stitches to hold it?
How big can we go with the squares? Was thinking of using a layer cake.
It's your quilt. Always remember that. There are no quilt police!!!!( thank goodness!)
Hi! The link to the pattern isn't working, is it listed on your website as well?
Look under the free quilts. I'm not sure if it is still there.
Cute ❤
👍👍👍
What type of juki machine is that ? I am wanting to invest in one !
We use the Juki TL-18!

Well honestly, we didn't make a very big quilt. Ours measured 42" by 50" which is about the biggest we could manage to fit under our machines!
Need to sew everything to the left of the needle - so no bulk under the right of the needle.
@@Piggyman22b - Thx.
Love that there is no trim to add. I may just make another one again.
😍😍😍
where is the Sewing Channels credit for this !? this is Tracy’s idea !
It's not rocket science. Any number of people could have figured this out, which is no disrespect to Tracy.
😊😊😊💕
Still should give her credit she came up with this years ago.

@@cazkiwinz4300 Have you seen any others doing it this way?
I've made many of these puff quilts and this method looks harder to master
🤔🤔🤔🤔
It would be viewed better if the camera was over your hands and machine. Great work.
Thanks for the tip
I see so many tucks forming on the backside

Are you just clipping the seem and sewing
I am behind seeing these comments. Sure hope you have that question answered by now.
This is hard
Just be patient with it, it will come out so cozy! It's worth it 😁
Good idea, but not for me. Prefer the original method
No worries!
