Hello, I'm an Aussie, I've been making similar for years. I give mine away to people for presents birthdays etc. I also buy a metre of fake fur & cover back with a throw sewing it inside out, turning it right side out & stitching turning hole up. I've done several for supporters of our AFL who happen to be Tiger supporters. I call them snuggle rugs for watching footy. Love ur crumb quilts & will definitely have a go at one of those but on a smaller scale. Cheers Liz Lewis.

When trimming a quilt, I don’t throw away the even the smallest pieces. I save them in a baggie. When I done with a quilt, I’ll put the small pieces into 2 clear empty xmas ball. Then I will use a sharpie on the ball the date, made by, the name of quilt and even to whom I gave it to. One for me to keep and the other with the quilt.

I think we run our hands over the fabric for a couple of reasons. One who doesn’t love the feel of fabric? And 2… I think we check to make sure our seams aren’t bumpy. You crack me up Tracy the way you abuse your iron LOL!! I love making quilts this way and yes, I have about 100 potential ones in my sewing room too!

I do the hand swipe after ironing and piecing to make sure the seams are not too bulky and flat. I didn't realize I did it until my niece asked why I do it. After a few swipes I realized why. Crazy how we do these important things without realizing we are doing it.

Judy Hammack here. I am on my husband's account. I recently did some crumb block making around Valentine. Still trying to decide exactly how to put the blocks together. It was probably the most fun I have had sewing. I have just recently gotten into quilting and I am very much addicted. I will definitely be doing more crumb quilting as soon as I acquire more scraps. I have spent most of my sewing live (67 years old) with clothing making for myself and my 2 daughters. Sewing is my passion to include all aspects of sewing. Currently working on wonky-wacky crumb quilt for tv quilts for youngest g-kids. It does grow quickly, once you get started. I started mine by using a long strip and attaching several small pieces to it, cutting them apart and then sewing onto another long strip and so on. I firmly believe the only rule in crumb quitting is there are no rules.

I hope you create more alternates to this pattern. I very much enjoyed watching you make this quilt! It’s so fun to watch you crumb quilt. 💜💜🧵

I swipe the top of the fabric after I iron it to make sure it feels flat. No accidental bumps. Not just in quilting.

Praise the Lord! Hallelujah! My creativity Tracy is back! Oh how I love the create as you go. The feel good quilting! I would a thousand times rather create than follow a long drawn out pattern that everyone else in the world does! I love you woman! You are the best! Oh speaking of Bestie.....tell yours that Okie Glenda said Hello!
Had to add....now I feel the need to rearrange my sewing room! I love that arrangement Tracy....I have it like that sorta but, my already washed( no fabric softener) 😁design wall is all the way on the other side of the room.

I was at Hobby Lobby in the fabric department and saw a really pretty blue pattern fabric and I thought of you and the quilt you were making for your daughter. I don't quilt myself I make the burrito pillow cases. But I do enjoy watching your videos. Thank you and keep up your beautiful work. From Napa CA. Have a good weekend.

Love this idea. Im going to use it for the reverse side of a table runner I'm making. I caress my fabric too! Lol.Warming and cooling of fabric changes it. That last little gesture is kind of like a kiss for luck! Love that t-shirt! Happy sewing❤

I love this idea! You can make a lot with scraps. I think this method would work well for creating blocks too. Maybe 10 or 12 inch crumb blocks and then solid blocks in between to break up the prints a little would be awesome too. 😊

Just watched this, fantastic! What a great way to use up scraps. And great for anyone who wants to make quilts but trembles at the idea of working with angles, measuring and doing heaps of maths type stuff. What I love about your videos are all the little tips and advice you throw in along the way. I will now be watching your video about basting quilts the easy way with a swimming noodle. If there’s one part of the quilting process that frankly gives me a headache, it’s basting! It slows me up every time, especially if the quilt is a decent size. I love every other part, but basting? Ugh!! The binder clips are also a great idea. If I can make that step a bit easier I will forge ahead. Love your easy relaxed delivery and approach to it all. Thank you so much and God bless. ❤
