Laura, I love your style. You are so beautiful. I wish I had your beauty and style. Please do more videos. I'm a trucker but 4 years ago i was a dog groomer, grandma and a content quilter. My now ex-husband forced me into trucking. Boy was he surprised when I showed up with a moving truck. I watch other people quilt while I'm the bunk to satisfy my quilting jones. Love from the road.
I found your channel about a month ago. You are such an excellent teacher! I love how you break everything down and explain it so I don't feel overwhelmed! Thank you!
You are an amazing lady. I have always loved this pattern but have not made it. You make this so easy to do. I have really enjoyed watching this video. I can hardly wait to make it. Thank you ever so much.
Genius. I love the clamshell, but not all the work, that’s exactly why I have not made a clamshell quilt. Not I will ponder making one. Yours turned beautiful. Color combination and layout was perfectly placed👍
What a great way to do a clamshell AND it's quilt as you go to boot! Thanks for the tutorial, Laura! I have to admit I didn't know where you were going with this one but as usual your directions were clear as a bell in the end. Just love it!
I like this method! I made a clamshell quilt once, and the curved piecing really gave me a headache, and I swore never again. This looks so much easier, and I love applique.
Good evening Laura Ann, this is definitely a quilt for a more sophisticated room, but it could be a man's quilt no problem i think, but i'm only on my 2nd quilt so what would i know. I do think though that matching pillow shams would be lovely, tie backs in the clam design , with the backing material as curtains (i'm a nightmare for like thinks matching in) this would just finish off an elegant room. Thank you flower for another lovely quilt trip into sharing the ease in which we can do patterns that we wouldn't normally want to try. Crafty hugs from Norah, Glenochil, Scotland
Wow, absolutely a genius way to put clam shells together. I wish they had a love or wow sign instead of just a thumbs up. That video would get a heart and a wow sign in my view. Thanks once again for a great learning video.
This would make such a lovely baby quilt in pastel colors. I think my new granddaughter has a present in her near future! Thanks so much for the tutorial, Laura!
I've never done any quilting before, but always liked the idea of picking it up as a hobby (something to replace my timesink that is playing video games). I've lost a bunch of weight in the last couple years, and I've got a bunch of old, over-sized t-shirts that I figure I could put to use. This pattern seems really appropriate for smaller pieces of scrap fabric. I look forward to givin' it a try in the near future.
Talent and great teaching. I love how you dress so professionally and talk slow enough so we can understand like I said great teaching. Beautiful nails. Nice job
Holy crap Laura! This is incredible. I too have wanted to make a clam shell quilt but haven’t for the same reasons as you stated. But this method you created is a game changer. Thank you so much for figuring out a way to make this doable.

I am making this clamshell quilt in blue fabrics it will be the center section of a larger quilt I did all the placing and ironing in place on the batting yesterday. I love it so far. Thanks so much for the easy and complete instructions. You are always so thorough!
Amazing tutorial. Your step by step without zooming thru, makes this quilt seem easy to make. I’m sure even new quilters can follow this tutorial. Thank you so much 🇬🇧🥰
Thank you for this video and the many others that have inspired me. When I watch your videos, I feel like I’m visiting with a friend. I look forward to the next ones where I’ll learn something new. Thanks again.
Thank you for the downloadable pattern. Will be making isolette quilts for our local women’s & children’s hospital. And my first quilt as you go quilt.
Clamshell are my favorite. My first project was a large pillow w matching ruffles. After decades of garment sewing, I knew I didn't want to do all the fussy curves so I invented my first quilting technique. I used my sizzix clamshell die and fused my fabrics, cut my shapes, auditioned all the colors/prints, tapped and fused them to a muslim. Then, w one solid piece of fabric and my sandwich, I used my decorative stitches to attach and quilt around them. So easy and so fun. I love using all my deco stitches (Singer 9960, no end of decos w mirroring, flipping, elongating, etc) and w/o the seams there is a tiny overlap to cover the edges w the stitches. Easy peasy! I have a fancy presser foot for clamshell curves wh I've tried out in practice and it seems doable just haven't found the inspiration. Having found your video, I'm going to try your method today bc it looks easy and fun. Hopefully I can find some fabric like yours bc I have a duvet that is a fancy yin/yang design in blackish and whitish print and want something to coordinate. I'm on my way to Joann's bc I can't wait to get started. You're the best. Thank you for sharing.☮❤🙋
I have just made all my clamshells and am now ready to start fuse to batting. Loving this pattern. I have just pre ordered your Clamshell book. Thank you for all your GREAT videos. Linda x

This is a very revolutionary method for simplifying the classic clamshell quilt. So incredibly clever!! I think a baby would love such a textured quilt to fidget with their tiny fingers. Thanks for sharing such a remarkably ingenious way to quilt-as-you-go and make such a usually tricky to piece design. I just might try to make a pair of pillow covers like these. The black and white fabrics you chose are stunning! ~Diana K.
Great idea! I have been using the stabilizer method on my applique quilts for a while now and it works well. I sew all the way around then cut a small x in the back of the stabilizer and turn the piece right side out through that opening. Can't wait to try this with a couple of charm packs I purchased during my summer travels. Thank you.
Love the quick pattern. I can’t wait to try it. I have loads of scrap 5 inch squares. Thanks for the wonderful idea. I just finished making 4 of your table runners! Love that easy pattern too!
I just purchased some of the wash away stabilizer and am anxious to make the clamshell quilt. Looks like it would be fun to put together and fast! Thank you.

I've never cared for clamshell quilts. That is, until I saw this one in black and white! Can't wait to try it.
Thats a great idea . I bet it you even look good with 10 inch squares too.
I found your channel about a month ago. You are such an excellent teacher! I love how you break everything down and explain it so I don't feel overwhelmed! Thank you!
I completely agree! Just found this chanel and it is awesome!! such a great instructor and your pace is awesome- and the tips are incredible.
You are amazing lady I have watched you for the last 4 years I really enjoy watching you

I love this in black & white. Great beauty
I really enjoy how you explain things, you don't drag it out and it clear what to do. Really enjoy your videos

I would never have tried clamshell until this tutorial. Good job!
Very innovative 💡! I wouldn't have minded a 4" strip of black at the bottom either. Love clamshells Tyfs 💗🎃
Laura you are sew cleaver! To work this all out to such a degree that the finished quilt looks impossible to do, and to be quilted as you go.
Clamshell is a beautiful pattern, this makes its accessible. Thank you.
Never seen a quilt like this before. Such a beauty. Thanks for the video and the simple technique.
Amazing! What a great alternative. Will be fun to make for a baby quilt. Thank you for the Tutorial.

Какая интересная техника исполнения. Одеяло получилось оригинальное и красивое. Спасибо за идею.
А что она на бумагу делала? Пришила ее?? Не понятно

This turned out so cute! Great job designing an easier way to pull off this quilt! 🌷
What are the measurements of the backing and batting. I know it depends on # of clamshells, however how do you calculate.
Thanks!
